I simply took the ones with the highest physical damage, can't go wrong with that. One shotted
Witches, Shadows, Amygdala, Rom, One Reborn, Micolash and Mergo
with them, pure overkill.

Wait, you're killing these bosses with the Blades in one shot? What is your level? I'm using the Blades myself and am doing the same thing (runes with phys dmg), but my damage is around 380 (level 80, SKL 35). Am I missing something?

Your pain is just beginning. The Defiled Chalice Dungeon will test your nerve as a gamer. But with some patience it's doable.

As for
Abhorent beast
, he does three consecutive strikes, avoid those and put a decent amount of space between you. Once you've avoided his initial attacks, you should have enough time to start charging your R2 attack, he'll charge right into your attack (sometimes landing a visceral attack) rinse and repeat. It's basically hit and run strats. He'll sometimes do a siren attack, but you should be able to see that coming.

Yeah Defiled Layer 2 is ruining my ass. Can't make even 1 mistake.

S/He probably means one try, the meaning of "one shot" has been distorted somehow.

Anyone else find the Cane OP as fuck?

I have pretty much cheesed my way through the entire game because of it hitting through and around walls where other weapons cannot.

The range on the whip is fucking incredible!

I found it to be a bit slow for crowd control against faster enemies, like say...the rats -_-

Blades of Mercy however...OH BABY <3 now that's an OP weapon!

No, in Souls Games one-shotting usually means killling a boss on the first attempt. That said my skill lvl is 50 and i also got vit quite high, like 40 that helps a lot imho.

So as previously discussed, but not yet decided by the community... what level cap should we be aiming for?

Myself I feel around level 100 should be sufficient, and I plan on stopping at that until it is set in stone by the people. By level 100 you should have most of your necessary soft caps and be sufficient enough to take down enemies in the the world.

Thoughts?

Anyone know why Gehrman never shows up in the house for me? After I initially talked to him he only ever is seen outside, mumbling in his sleep, if at all.

Mostly he is nowhere to be found. Is that a bug?

I already have my future builds mapped out.

My current level 120 is hardcapped skill build. Female.

I'll make a level 100 Bloodtinge build. Female too probably.

Level 80 Skill build. Male

Level 60 Arcane build. Male.

Level 50 quality build. Female.

Level 30 strength build. Male.

After that I'll be covered in all levels for PvP & coop.

Yup. As a fellow SKL user, I went with Blades as well. Man oh man.

I tried to stick with the whip. I even upgraded it like hell, but I just couldnt get it to be 'good'. Blades seem like they can blow up whip users really easy because they have a huge gap in between swings.

2hrs just played and no real progress except for upping one of my stats. Total is 22hrs.

POM?

I just finishe the game. Is the NG+ worth is? Or is it just all enemies do more damadge and have more health?

Have you discovered all the locations in the game? Did you block yourself from some events in your first playthrough that you have to re-do again. Have you followed the questlines of each NPC (which can have different outcomes)?

Of course you can just start a new character to do these things.

Nah, thats just how he rolls. You are just not that interesting to him!

word of advice (though you probably already know that being a SKL bro), don't use lock-on too much, especially when a few mobs jump on you. It's easier to just generously divide your slashes between all of them to keep them all at bay

I finished the game with a STR character last night and it just wasn't nearly as fun as my SKL char

is down. First boss in the game I beat on my first try.

So the next boss is the one, where the elevator glitch occurs, correct? How do I prevent that from happening?

Correct. You ride down the elevator and activate it again, so it goes up, this time without you. You end up beeing in front of the boss room but the elevator goes back up to its
default position. This way you can reenter it from the top without needing to use the device (the bug prevents the device from working correctly) in case the boss kills you.

Its funny...i didnt really care about the guys who sucked my insight.

Now, if they had sucked my vials or bullets...

That boss was by far the easiest while the boss after the elevator game me some trouble.

I'm thinking PvP will be ~80 this time around. 120 is too much, considering there are too few stats in BB. You'd max every essential stat by ~130.

75-90 is perfect in my opinion!
I think the main justification for the higher level is the 30% health penalty for invaders, meaning that pretty much everyone is gonna want 50 vit. I agree though that 120 is way too much, 100 seems about right to me.

So is strength the way to go when upgrading Ludwig's sword? I'm going to grind for a bit to get my vitality and weapon stats higher before attacking
Amelia
again.

Strength and skill. It scales with both.

Oh ok, so basically whichever stat looks like it's going to give me more for that particular level jump? Cool. Now I just need to find one more twin blood shard so I can upgrade my weapon past 3. Only found 2 so far off an imp.

Just beat T
he One Reborn, it was surprisingly an easy fight. Only lost once because I was trying to clear the bell ladies before fighting him

The music in this game is absolutely phenomenal. It sets the atmosphere far better than any other Souls game imo. Demon's is up there though.

I'm still thinking there has to be more to insight then what we know right now.
I mean you get so much of it, it's in your HUD and you can hardly do anything with it.
I'm running with around 50 now, bought shittons of bolt and fire paper and got my face sucked multiple times. And i still got like 60 madman's knowledge and the other large things.
Feels like an unfinished mechanic.

How well does Chikage scale with Bloodtinge? I just leveled Skill to 50 should I start putting points to Bloodtinge now to make the transform more relevant?

L1 mode doesn't scale with skill, so you'd probably end up using the L1 mode as gimped version of normal Chikage w/ 50 skill scaling.

The way the chikage works is the 1 handed mode scales with skill only, and the 2 handed mode scales with bloodtinge only. Also with 50 bloodtinge it's OP as fuck, highest AR in the game I believe

Alright, thanks.
I guess I'll start putting some points to it too so I can just slash and shoot more effectively, other stats are already high enough so might just do it.. Then again Arcane could let me use Tiny Tonitrus which looks interesting.

Umm, you need insight to play multiplayer.

Does anyone know what those
glowing yellow bodies in Unseen Village do? Is it just supposed to hurt you or is there a lore reason to deactivate all of them?

and use Fire Papers, three papers was enough on my playthrough to kill her. Just heavy strikes as punishment.

I use the skill mode for mowing down easier enemies. Bloodtinge for tough enemies and bosses. My plan is to cap both at 50.

Bloodtinge mode does a ton of damage. I love the weapon.

Is there any reason I can't buy sedatives from the shop? This last area is killing me without them.

Any good places to farm them or a way to unlock them in the shop?
