The best way to beat Amelia is not to grind but to beat her properly with a good tactic. Here's how I did it after a few futile attempts. Notice that she only managed to hit me once: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01ytj__fm9E

Ha, your Vicar Amelia is definitely not doing the same moveset as my Vicar Amelia. Yours is pretty much standing around in one place letting you dish out a beating, mine (and others) is like a whirling leaping horror, never still.

Even I could have finished Vicar Amelia if she was acting like yours. Maybe if I keep trying she'll lapse into LAZY MODE ACTIVATE.

Wow, this area is fucking brutal.
Nightmare of Mensis is absolutely kicking my ass. Died at least 10 times now trying to get to that door whilst trying not to get frenzied only to be completely wrecked by a bunch of spiders.
I think I'm level 66, am I underlevled for this area?

I think I was around that level when going through there.
How much insight have you got? Think that affects how quickly you get frenzied.

Im also dying alot there, with 11 insight.

It's at 35, is that high? Does insight actually affect in game events other than frenzy?? Will telling me spoil the story, if so, don't tell me lol.

went to what was clearly a boss arena..

Girl in white
turns into some white dog mammoth beast

*uses bold hunters mark* straight away.

live to fight another day

You can just start -> exit -> load and you'll be out of the boss arena, just outside the fog wall, no need to spend a bold hunter's mark :P

That's a pretty fair level for that area. I think I was level 74 when I beat the game on my first playthrough so you're right about where I was at that point.

put on anything that gives you higher Frenzy resist. Keep Sedatives in your quick use slot and just run like a mofo. Also, leveling up ain't such a bad idea cuz the enemies in that building hit hard.

Finished up Cainhurst last night. L
ogarius
took a few tries but I managed to pull it off after a series of successful viseral attacks which I can never pull of normally...

Now my options are the
Forbidden Woods
or check out the
Nightmare Frontier
from the library. I take it that I should do the former.

My build is kind of jank right now. I wanted to check out the hunter's bone so I pumped my arcane up like 10 points. It is neat but I don't like that it is temporary. I guess with arcane up I can use the split sword weapon more effectively. Note I'm considering putting in 7 points into bloodtinge for that one gun I found in cainhurst. my stamina is still in the teens...

I got so lucky with the 3
hunters in Yahar'gul
last night.

I was lucky enough to lure one away and he wasn't to bad. Then I noticed the other two running at full sprint at me. I ran back to the lantern and they somehow couldn't figure out how a doorway works. I was able to smack them down with Ludwig in Greatsword mode through the wall with charged attacks. Cheap? Yes...but I didn't feel to bad about it.

I'm not actually sure whether it does hah. I think I was around 50 insight at that time, and found it really tough as well. I tried luring the creatures out into the light so they'd take some damage as well. Theres a shortcut not far from the spiders, which I just bolted for as quickly as I could.

So last night I got
captured and sent to a prison and managed to find a woman on the floor praying and when I spoke to her she thanked me for saving her and then I did some weird fist pump and got a madman's knowledge for it or something
Is that all there is to it or is there more to this? I was surprised to see my character do the fist pump thing like it was something significant, yet I didn't get a significant item or anything for it. So I'm now thinking there is more to it that this....

I don't think that's a lot of insight. I beat the area with 80 insight around your level. It was really annoying though.

Whatever it takes, man. Screw those bastards.

Does NG+ affect the difficulty of chalice dungeons?

Well the
One Reborn
was not to bad.

How much do i got left?
Just lit the Lecture Building 2nd Floor lamp

Depends how much optional stuff you've been doing. There's so many hidden areas and bosses it's not even funny. It's awesome.

BB Platinum at 1%
DaS2 Platinum at 4.9%
DaS Platinum at 6%
DeS Platinum at 2.4%

Which will be the lowest eventually?

Demons Souls. I have the Platinums for all the games except DeS (even have 2 platinums for DaS1), and have zero interest in getting it. Way too much of a pain in the ass.

So, beat BSB, then on way back i got what i thought was killed by some dude who said i was greedy, and now i've woken up in Unseen Village prison? Is there a lamp anywhere near? I had 15k big red ones.

It's because he's staying close and stunning her over and over. There are several bosses in this game that are significantly more dangerous if you try to keep your distance and play it safe. You need to get in there, dodge her swipes and focus on breaking one of her arms or legs to bring her down.

Having put about 23 hours into the game (just beat the blood starved beast), more than I put into any previous souls games, I have to say the thing I'm still struggling with is being patient. I know what I should and shouldn't be doing and yet I can't stop myself from doing it. I don't need to rush in, I do, I don't need to get that 4th hit in a combo, I try, I don't need to spam on the dash/dodge button, I always press it 3 to 4 times when I get nervous. Every time I die in this game I know it's because something stupid I did. I'm making my way through the game by shear brute force. I'm enjoying it but I just don't know if I have the temperament for these types of games.

Just to beat the last boss and see credits. As far as I know I only skipped 1 optional area. My wife is taking over my PS4 when MKX comes out Tuesday. Being I work fri, sat, sun 16 hour shifts I only really have today and tomorrow to beat it.

Level 126. I shouldn't feel happy for just soloing the Shadows of Yharnam in NG+, but I do. I really do. I get addicted to grinding in these games.

question: Can I co op with a much lower level friend who is just starting the game, or does the 15 level range still apply?

+1 my friend, +1....

You can easily do it then.

I'm replaying Dark Souls once again. After that if the patch is out for loading and framerate I'll give Bloodborne another playthrough too. I loved the game and I want to work out if I prefer it to Dark Souls or not, which is also my favourite game of all time. It's the level design of Bloodborne which I can't get enough of, it's genius. Level design is very important to me.

I think I'm gonna try another build, maybe arcane, instead of going into NG+. Is there new content in NG+? I also feel like creating a character based off the Plain Doll.
