The only chalice dungeons which are random have the name "root" in it, everything else is pre-build and are called "story dungeons", you need to clear them before you can go deeper or make root versions of the cleared dungeons.

Oh!?

There are story dungeons? I did not know that.

I like to know Im playing designed levels... DOes this mean some dungeons have NPCs?

No, they're just dungeons pre-build, there is no story but there is a story related boss which you need to kill for a trophy.

The root dungeons are for awesome runes and blood gems. Also there is one weapon exclusive to the chalice dungeon:
Beast Claw

What non-boss enemy terrifies you all the most?

The singing brain...things that hit you with Frenzy. Fuck those guys. One of the most intense parts of the game for me so far was the part where
you release the monster brain in Nightmare of Mensis.

I was lazy and didn't equip the Frenzy resist rune. So getting to that lever was crazy. And then when you drop into that hole in the ground, instead of heading out that door RIGHT behind you (I didn't know it was there) I walked across the beams while the brain thing hit me with frenzy. By the time I got across the beam to fight him, with a belly full of frenzy, he was on top of me with his flurry/slap move. I was dead in seconds. I was so pissed. On my second attempt, I did the same thing, although I managed to cut him down and then down my last sedative as frenzy was about ready to pop. Close. I looked around that area for a bit then I finally saw the door by where you drop down the hole. I could have avoided that whole fight.

NG+ and whaddayaknow, Amilia is again kicking mu butt. Killed four bosses with not much trouble but I'm starting to get flashbacks from my original six hour tribulation with her.

And a cool looking set of armor if I'm not mistaken

Can someone fucking explain to me how I make the small jump into the window in Megers Middle Loft in Nightmare of Mensis or whatevers it's called. I've watched about 10 youtube videos and they simply walk onto the ledge my character just falls down and if I roll he hits an invisible wall and falls down.
It's almost like my game is broken :(
Dont jump too early, the timeframe is bretty big so just wait until the elevator is nearly equal in level to the opening to jump through.

OK, so is anyone who has finished the game coming back to play difficult random dungeons? Is the replayability (just for the sake of playing random dungeons) enjoyable?

I continue to find fault with a lack of item variety, but I am enjoying my first chalice dungeon for the sake of just playing it

It used to be the soul-eaters for me, but after going into chalices, it's those screaming freaks with double swords. Oh my god.
The blobby students at the Lecture Room freaked me out. That moment I opened that one door and was like

Damn, I have done it multiple times without a problem. Maybe try running instead of walking.

Okay I'm not sure what to do in this game anymore.

I can't seem to beat the cainhurst castle boss ..or the daughter boss in upper cathedral ...or the hunter at the cathedral :(

I don't know where else I can go or do since after leaving hapogeon/ unseen village

Man I love when that happens to me in these games. The feeling of the walls closing in and the helplessness and no choice but to somehow push through what seems impossible odds.

Damn this game lol. I beat the
the witch of hemwick
and she was by far the easiest boss of the game so far for me, so then I go to
cainhurst castle
right after that thinking I'm hot shit and get my ass pummeled. Finally got to
Martyr Logarius
and he kicked my ass. Seems like the trek to get back to that fucking guy is long as hell. Didn't see any real short cuts either besides the elevator and book case opening. Thinkin I'm gonna need some help with this dude. Fuck having to travel that distance over and over.

Save him for the last. He is optional and arguably the hardest boss in the game.

Did you open up
the elevator to the library
in the first place?

That's pretty much your only shortcut there.

Edit: ah, I misread. Yeah, just run past everything.

The elevator is the shortcut... when you get to the library, run to the ladder and then exit through the opening with the stairs that leads to the top. You don't have to fight with anyone.

Only missing the final boss(es) and he was the hardest for me.
Way only takes 1-2 minutes max:
forsaken cainhurst castle lamp in the yard > elevator shortcut to the right from the lamp > run through crying girls in library > up the ladder at the end of the room > to the roof > logarius

Cool, thanks guys, yeah I might just wait on this dude then. I haven't even done the unseen village stuff yet so I'll tackle that and level up a bit and then go back to
cainhurst
. At least I got some sweet armor sets from there haha.

The co-op system is so dumb in this game. Tried to help put a friend with Ebriatas. He's lv104, I'm 92 so we're well within range, used a unique password, but I just won't get summoned. We got the "discovered..." message twice but then it just would not proceed to load me in the game. Next time just use a regular invite system cause this is absolute bullshit From.

Just found the
Evelyn
pistol, is it any good? Thinking about leveling bloodtinge 6 times so that I can use it if so.

It's this game's Black Bow of Pharos. It's base damage sucks, but it has really good scaling. If you have high bloodtinge, it's the best pistol, if you don't it sucks.

If you nope to that I wonder what will happen later....

So how am I supposed to get these mats for the Defiled Chalice? I beat the Lower Pthemiun Chalice last night and got the Defiled from it, but now it's asking me for mats I definitely don't have.

Ritual Blood (4) Need 9. Only have 1

Bastard of Loran: need 2, have none

Arcane Haze: Need 22, have 9

It's great for a skill-bloodtinge build together with the Chikage. Both have awesome Bloodtinge scaling and almost nothing has proper blood defense as far as I know.

Everytime you beat a dungeon you get to unlock the next one. Do this and you should have no problems with missing materials I think.
