I'm nearing 30 hours in and I haven't even reached
Forbidden Woods
. God knows how people have been completing the whole game in not much more time than that.

Dang. I beat the game the first time in 22 hours and I only missed 2 bosses in a blind run. :|

Only after 80 hours of game i found out that the doll reacts to you if you do gestures in front of her. Really cool detail i must say.

no offense man but bragging about easy bosses and then having somebody help you on both of them isn't making you sound like a badass lol.

"These guys were so easy. I didn't need the help but I had it. #yolo"

I wasn't bragging, and nowhere did I say that I didn't need help. I just said that in retrospect based on the evidence of my encounter with E
brietas
(which you can see in the video) she didn't seem difficult. That's just the way I see it. I haven't seen any other videos of people fighting her, nor have I fought her alone, so I obviously don't have a definitive factual answer on the matter. I was just confused that I had seen so many people saying they were stuck on her, when, based on my own encounter, she seemed easier than most other bosses.

Oh, good hunter...

Destroyed final boss first time. D Good finale I think.

Don't really have a clue about the story, put some pieces together but I'm gonna go read the lore thread.

230,000 blood Echoes is nice but think I'll reload, wait for the patch and do the chalice dungeons.

Final completion time 43 hours. I think that's about the same time as my Demon's Souls and Dark Souls 2 first playthrough whereas Dark Souls 1 was 50+ I think.

Oh man, messing up Eileen the Crow's questline sucks. One of my favorite runes I am using is just a lesser version of the one you get from the quest.

Doing the
Ailing chalce (4) now then the Great Isz Chalice (5)
. They are all super fun.

What about me, i'm at 23-24hours and still haven't killed
Amelia.

I need help with her :(

True but I'd rather be able to get more healing from blood vials. It always felt good to upgrade the old flask . . .

Killed
Rom
on my second try. I took my time to lure the spiders and kill them one by one.
Took me 2 respawns, I thought this boss would be worse after reading about how hard it is.
Amelia
was way harder in my opinion.

Way different experiences. Got
Amelia
on the first try, thought she was trivial.
Rom
on the other hand...

She sure is. But the thing with ROM is that I don't have patience, so I just attacked and it insta killed me 3 times with those casts that come from the water. Later on I learned that the Hit n' Run strategy is the way to go

people get stuck with her due to the amount of damage she does and how fast she turns. And I'd argue because so many are recommending staying behind her which is a horrible idea. You'll spend more time trying to get behind her than hurting her. it's better to stay in front.

Regardless we all have problems with different bosses. I still can't get over how many times I died against Vic. Since then I haven't died more than once against a boss.

You mean like Henryk kills her and you don't get rune?

Wow, I guess Silencing Blank doesn't always work. I used the Small Resonant Bell to help people with a boss, but while waiting, I had to use the restroom so I cancelled it. Icon went away and everything. I come out and I hear all this noise on the TV. My guy is nearly dead for some reason and a Beckoner is fighting the boss behind the fog door. WTF...

I am using that one now and I may stick with it into NG+, but you also get the parry rune from her quest as well.

I'll be honest: I let her die so I could get her set early. And I have no regrets. I have done a lot of coop, been invaded a number of times, and no one else was rocking Crowfeather. Felt good. And I got the rune from killing that bastard Henryk.

To all arcane users. What's your level, weapon and damage?

Arcane sounds really interesting, so I'm thinking about creating a new character.

Nope. You can get her badge from her corpse but the quest line ends there sadly.

Damn shame too since I am MUCH better at fighting hunters now.

I don't even know what that conv does. Seems people on the wiki aren't sure it's point either.

This is the first of the "Souls" games that I have no real interest in playing NG+ or playing again. I really enjoyed it and completed all the main and optional bosses but I have no motivation to keep playing. Also thought the second half of the game was not nearly as strong as the first half.

Blast, he disappeared for me so I am high and dry in that regard.

Also, we are Crowfeather bros. Such a cool set.

Hey guys,

I did it! My copy of Bloodborne arrives tomorrow and I'm getting a bit nervous.

I've NEVER EVER played a Dark Souls game and i haven't followed this thread for a while. So I'm not up to date at all.

Are there some GOOD (beginners) guides? Any tips for newbies? What should I do/don't?

Every piece of adivce is really appreciated. :)

Damn, I'm so excited and I don't know why. The hype is real :D I'M PUMPED! WHAHAHAHAHAHA :D

So is coop broken, or is something wrong with my playstation?

Did you go into rest mode with the game still running? If so, exit out of game and close the application to restart. Rest mode breaks co-op, my friend and I found out the hard way.

Cool. Ya it's like being the Batman of Yharnam.

Really wish her dual blades were better though. Threaded Caning all day, e'ry day.

For the Chalice Dungeon runners, can I grab red jelly at the Isz Chalice too? I never bothered beating Ailing Loran because of the Abhorrent Beast and can't really be bothered with going through it to unlock Lower Loran if I can just start up the Isz Chalice now. So glad to see the back of the Defiled Chalice now, but it drained me so much I'm just looking to get it done with asap now.

Do/can you get BoM too? Might do this on my skill character...

Ludwig's was one of my main weapons late game but I couldn't find it a use against Gerhman, I killed him with Blades of Mercy, needed fast hits. Draw his attacks, wait until he makes the charge attack while keeping a certain distance he won't hit you with his second attack so you can come close fast and hit him, if his second attack is a jump, roll because that can hit you but after that you'll be able to hit him.

This was my whole strategy for the first half of the fight, the second half is land a few parries and visceral attacks.

My video of the fight

Thanks, ill check out the vid. hopefully it will help.

So guys , I got a question, what is the best ending ?
I'm not planning on doing a NG+ for now got too much games to play in my backlog .

Should I aim for the hardest to get ? (already have 2
umbilical cord
)

GTE REKT! GET REKT!!!
Ebrietas!!!

hardest fight thus far, i lost count of how many times i died. bet it wasn't excepting a canon ball to the face! HAHAHA

Any reason why I cannot ring the beckoning bell? I can ring the others, but beckoning is just blacked out. I'm online too. My friend cannot ring the bell either.

Edit: Nevermind we are dumb, we killed the boss here. Ignore me.

There are 3 endings. I hear consuming the 3 umbilicals creates the 'best' ending.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes, definitely.

So I just started new game plus and I have all these echoes I want to use to level up. Is there a way to do so without killing the cleric beast?

What in the fuck. I can barely touch L
ogarius.
Any tips? I've tried getting up close but his stupid close range attack is killing me.

Getting the 3 and consuming them before the boss gets you a different extended ending, with extra "content" not found in the other two endings.
If its the best ending or not is up to oneself lol

Moving through this game at a snails pace. Did my first chalice dungeon last night. Had some
Sen's Fortress deja-vu with the dudes throwing poison knives at me and having to maneuver through the pendulums.
Trickier without a shield. The gitting gud continues.

Go the Central Yahnam lamp, light it and go back to the dream world. The doll should re-appear then in NG+. Or maybe it was after talking to Gerhman. Either way, you can get her to show at that point.

Hmm, anyone got any suggestions for the Watchdog in the Defiled Dungeon? I didn't have problems at all with him in the regular dungeon, but here his jump attack one-hit-kills me all the time. Any way to bait him to loop simpler attacks or anything?
