Am I the only one who's not interested in doing the chalice dungeons?

I may try it for the hell of it but I'm having far too much fun with the main game and the chalice dungeons may be a bit out of my skill level.
Woof here, no interest after my hopes to play Co op with my buddies were dashed. Seriously whoever came up with the bell and de spawning system is dead to me. Soap signs are so much better.

Hello, what's the most fun class for you ?
And is Waste of Skin too tough for a beginner ?

I like to go powerhouse, so Violent Past and Military Veteran are the best for me.

I think it is, as a beginner, you should go with a class with more health.

ok Bloodborne, you win, I'm done trying to platinum you.

The Defiled Chalice isn't hard, it's cheap. Its difficulty done bad and I don't feel like mess with bullshit like this (yep, rage post, sorry bout that lol but I really hate when devs caps your characters for no reason)

Your class only determined your starting stats. You can still use any of the starting weapons.

For a beginner, I'd recommend military veteran. You start out with high enough strength and skill to use a variety of weapons without having to level up much.

I'm the only to think the class doesn't matter? After few levels you will be in your own class.

PS. The only reason it mattered in Demon's Souls was because the start ring with MP regen for one of the classes.

Having loads of problems with the
three shadow yharman
in Foridden Woods. My current strategy is to
first kill the mage
first. However, after that I have loads of problem with the
whip/sword guy after they transform. They have a huge range. I'm trying to kill them around the big tombstone. But they keep killing me. I'm running out of potions every time
.

I'm using hunters axe +6. Any advice?

It is most definitely too tough for a beginner as the advantage is being able to put stats as you want to the tee but you start at a lower level. would not recommend outside of experts who want to stat allocate perfectly (also bragging rights)

Man, the
Blood-starved Beast
is just absolutely impossible to me. I don't think I've had this much trouble with a fight since Artorias in Dark Souls. I've been stuck here for three nights in a row now and I've not made an inch of progress. The first two-thirds of his health are easy as hell, just no problem at all, but when he gets in to that final part, I just have zero chance to even hit him once. I've used the summon outside the gate, but he's no help. I don't have PS+ and I'm not gonna get it (waste of money imo), so summoning is out of the question. The constant grinding for blood vials don't really help making this a fun fight for me. I miss Estus Flasks, at least they had the decency to refill after you died.

Oh well, I'm giving up for now, gonna waste another night tomorrow...

So if you want help...

You can summon alfred to the right of the stairs leading down.

Also use a +3 flame sprayer while alfred has him occupied.

Dude goes down easy with that combo.

It doesn't, as long as you know what you're doing and going for. If you never played souls/bloodborne before, capacity to use a wide variety of weapons at the beginning + enough health to endure hits until you get the timing down makes a huge difference.

I started a Waste of Skin character last night. Back stabbed the werewolf at the beginning, and managed to kill Father G using the Saw Cleaver without leveling up. Just parried a lot and threw molotovs at the end. But yeah, I'd only recommend this origin to veterans. The starting vitality and strength are ok, but the stamina is really low. You can get caught attacking and not have anymore stamina to deal the final blow or dodge an attack.

One other question in Hypogean Gaol the skeletons in the fire pits are all lit up but when I was co-oping they weren't. Is that dude to insight?

Id try to get the mage guy to about 40% and then focus on the sword guy and kill him first hopefully while they are doing the 30% transformation then go and kill the mage and the last guy should be a joke by himself.

Kill the aggressive melee guy first, then the less aggressive melee guy. Save the fireball guy for last; circle around the pillar while killing the Melee guys to avoid the fireballs.

Finally beaten E
brietas
.
I was so incredibly nervous, when she had like 5% health left and did those lasers. Never managed to dodge them before and they insta-killed me every time. But this time I dodged all of them. It was glorious.

Waste of Skin is already a waste of starting points even for min/max'rs if they aren't going to use arcane. Lone Survivor is a great starting point for most because I don't know of a single player that is running with less than 14 vitality.Total flexibility and good survivability the first few levels.

Does origin matter? I'm about to start a 3rd character and beat the game a third time and was looking to make a build. So I was messing around with this build simulator and it seems every orgin will give you the same stats at lvl 83 or require one more lvl to match ie 84. So if I made a blood/skill build for Kitana and wanted 25vit,end,skill and 40 blood, it wouldn't matter if I picked Lone Survivior, Noble Scion, Waste of Skin, but professional being best because it requires one less lvl. I always see guides saying to choose Noble scion for Chikage build but I don't think it matter pass 80. So at what lvl is when origin matters?

End of game...
Exactly when should I eat the umbilical cords and do I only have one chance at the kill? Friend talked about this, but I can't find any "perfect" answer.

Keep a long distance from the mage. Kill/focus on the sword guy first (you can stun him and visc him). Then go for the other and kill the mage last.

You can use hit and run tactics on the other two after dodging the mage's fireball if you want to play safe but I recommend killing the mage last.

Any time (i ate them soon as I received each one), and no

So I think my
Eileen
was bugged..
"Was" being the key word.

I met her in the sewers by accident in the beginning, then later she never showed up next to CW or anything.. Checked multiple times. Then randomly, I run back to Oedon's Graveyard and this random hunter dude starts wailing on me. I freak out, run down to the ladder that leads to the pig, and come back to find Eileen and dude battling it out. I get him down to like 3 hits left and he kills her.. Then I finally put him down.

Saddest shit ever
But I got her cloak on now doe.

Eat all 3 before you go talk to Gerham and no after you beat him and the real final boss shows up you can die and just restart the fight like any other boss.

Ain't nobody got time fo' that. I'm dead as soon as Krang frenzies me.

What? Yes, you may die when you get frenzy, and thus you should use the sedative before the gauge is full. The antidotes can be used in the same way. You don't need to wait 'till the gauge is full.

This is especially useful with frenzy, because it will continue to increase for a while after exposure, unlike with poison. Using the sedative will reset the gauge to zero and stop any currently accumulating "after effect."

If you want to (all related to the ending)
see all of the endings you should backup your save before eating the cords. Otherwise you can eat them at any time including right before you trigger the final encounter.

I personaly
kept the mage for last, as it's the most inoffensive as long as you keep an eye on his attack. Being able to keep him in constant stun for the last part of the battle also helps a lot). Sword guy can be countered easily before transformation, so he went down first for me.

Circle strafe left and forward. That's the key to the entire fight. As long as you do that, none of his attacks should be able to hit you.

If you need to get pressure off you, use a Pungent Beast Cocktail.

Yay! After being torn up by Keeper of the Old Lords in the Defiled Chalice Dungeon, I leveled up my VIT from 30 to 40 and just beat her my 2nd attempt!

Equip hunter gear. Its high poison resistance. Just dodge left and when he misses stand behind him strike and move. Make sure you stay locked onto him at all times. Bring plenty of antedotes and you should be fine. Because of his aggressiveness people make this fight more difficult than it is. Stay locked on and stay as CLOSE to him as you can, dodge left, strike when vulnerable, repeat until dead.

Thanks alot! :)

BTW: How important is the TV input lag? I've got a Samsung 65HU8590 and the input lag is 75ms (without gaming mode).
Just to add to the very practical advice you got, here's some philosophical advice:

1) Don't play angry. Seriously. From Software products are phenomenal games and works of art, but extremely poor "stress relief." In fact they are at their best when they are causing you an intense amount of stress, when you're weak and afraid and far from safety, unsure of what lies ahead, daring you to keep your head and come out on top. No game. regardless of quality, is worth getting legitimately frustrated over, so just try to make sure you're in the right mindset when you start.

2) Don't worry too much if you feel like you aren't "making progress" in the way you might have continuous reinforcement in other games. You will lose thousands of blood echoes. It's going to happen. Embrace it. Even if you are literally spending hours in the same area, attempting the same boss over and over again, you're improving your skill with the core mechanics and combat, learning your enemies, and establishing muscle memory.

3) Just about everything is some degree of obtuse, esoteric, confusing or even impenetrable without some outside assistance. When you run into a situation where you're sure you should be doing something but aren't quite sure what, or know that you need to know how something works to do what you want but it hasn't been explained to you, you might have the instinct to come here and ask about it outright. Follow that instinct. These games are largely designed to force you into some form of community involvement for answers, guidance and clarification.

4) If you're interested, I've heard from multiple sources that the Hunter Axe is the best starting weapon for new players (you'll get a choice). The Threaded Cane is the choice of ballers however.

Or he could just shoot him every time he doesn't do the dash and parry him every single time until he dies. BSB has a huge parry window.
