I am slow going this game..

Managed to get the blood starved beast finally. Felt great.

Then I did the chalice dungeon and killed a undead giant boss without any blood vials. Also felt good!

I keep seeing the term Lovecraftian used in relation to some of the more, let's say c
osmic
elements that come post R
om
in the story.

Not being familiar with any of his specific texts, what would one recommend for getting into his work -- or is the term Lovecraftian referring to something bigger than any one work?

Probably the Cthulu mythos, which seems to be a great influence on Bloodborne: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu_Mythos_anthology

Specifically, The Call of Cthulu by Lovecraft himself.

Edit- Read these:

The Call of Cthulhu (February, 1928)
The Dunwich Horror (April, 1929)
The Whisperer in Darkness (August, 1931)
At the Mountains of Madness (March-April, 1936)
The Shadow Over Innsmouth (April, 1936)
The Shadow Out of Time (June, 1936)
The Haunter of the Dark (December, 1936)

Lovecraft's other works are also great, you should give them a read.

I love everything about the
Brain
in (late location)
Mergo's Loft
except the time before I realized it was better to just run through that area.

I've gotten to the final boss and honestly don't even know if I want to bother finishing. Definitely did not like this game compared to the souls series

Castle Cainhurst is on just another fucking level, and it's an optional area of the game! Something that amazing should be required to progress the story so no one could possibly miss it. My only gripe is that it's over way too quick.

Even amongst all the large beasts, monstrous claws, and whathaveyou, those Brain enemies that sing honestly gives me the BIGGEST AMOUNT OF CREEP. Really, I felt my skin all tingly with a sense of unexplainable dread when I hear that hum... so goddamn creepy MY GOD.

So the AI glitch, can it happen no matter how long your PS4 had been on? I got to E
brietas
and wiped the floor with her, had been playing for about three hours. Not trying to brag, I'm just surprised I managed it so easily. Seemed to have her stunlocked with my charging R2 using Ludwigs for over half her health bar.

I'm at the end now and struggling way more with G
ehrman
, would anyone like to assist me in about an hour? I'm in the level 80s I think. Planning on fighting him, then reloading my save and
fighting him and the true final boss
.

I just finished up this fight myself. The first 4 times he slaughtered me but the 5th time I wreaked havoc upon him. I found intelligently pacing my damage before his first disappearing act helped give me a great headstart. Here's my video if it helps you at all:

Didn't use Ludwig's but after two attempts I killed him. :)
Your video helped me with the idea of killing the first wave of spiders, that way I could focus on Rom to do maximun damage the first time. After that just two full combos on him and The End.

Thx! :D

To my surprise there's a 4th layer. -_-

Do the level requirements for co-op (within 10 levels + 10% of your level, right?) apply to Chalice Dungeons as well? What about when using the Short Ritual Root Chalice?

Any special tips to get the bells to actually connect to a friend? Seems a bit picky.

So I have now accidentaly killed
Eileen and The Chapel Red Guy..... I tried to help her out by attacking that Hunter she was fighting in the Tomb of Odeon, guess my blade to her head wasn't very good help! The red guy gave me a fright when I landed in the Chapel for the first time... so I sliced him up, dang!!

So, have I gimped myself, or made my NG more interesting by knowing who not to kill?
