I attacked the
horses before going to the castle
and they disappeared did I fuck it up ?

Is there an enemy hidden or something somewhere early when you enter into Nightmare of Mensis that continuously depletes your health? I keep getting my health drawn down and frenzied but I have no idea where it's coming from. Will keep searching but wanted to check here first.

yes it's caused by
mother brain
just rush through the beggening until you enter the building.

Son of a taint! I just realized that I ran into this platinum-blocking situation and can use some guidance:

It looks like I can't get the 3 pieces of umbilical cord on my first playthrough because 1) I never sent Arianna to the Chapel, and 2) I apparently went to Iosef's Clinic too soon (before Rom) and ruined my chance of getting one there since I killed the enemy who has it on him and it didn't drop.
Unless I'm missing something (please tell me if I am), I can't trigger the "true" ending and will have to play NG+ in order to get that ending achievement. I am setup to be able
to get every other achievement in my first playthrough, so it's a little frustrating how narrow the window is for getting some of these items. Alas.

My questions:
  1. Is all my info above accurate and I need to NG+ for plat?
  2. About how long is it taking people to get through NG+ if I'm mainly focused on that one achievement?

I can't handle this Sword.
It is so heavy and slow and the normal mode is, from my perspective, the same moveset as the Cane.

Yeah, going from Axe to Ludwig has got me into a lot of trouble because of the speed. Power won't do you much good if it gives the enemy an opening. I prefer weapons with wide arc attacks too so...axe owns in that dept. And R2 gives you a meaty overhead arc attack. And the reach when transformed is too good.

Jesus the tonitrus is crazy. My build is arcane focused and i put a bolt gem in it, at +6 it has an atk rating of 495 with the buff

If you killed a "him" at Iosefka's you're fine...

Sorry if this has been answered already, but I'm pretty sure at least part of my playthrough has been affected by the "memory leak" or whatever it is that is making some bosses forget their moveset. I know for a fact that
Marty Logarius
was affected since he only spammed his melee attack. Does anybody know if the memory leak effect persists or does a simple power off/power on fix the bug? I definitely started powering off and on by the time I got to
Mico and Margo
but I'm not sure if they were just easy or if they were affected by the bug as well.

Amygdala
(Defiled Chalice) help

I can get it to half health but then it becomes pain. The damn thing stays in one corner and it attacks more frequently.

This fight was my worst nightmare. Fuck this boss sooooo much. I made it through watchdog with no issues, but his boss....that fucking jump attack. Do this and you will live

get through phase 1 and stay outside during phase 2. Take your time and you will be ok until phase 3. This is where i always died to that one shot jump. Then i went close to his legs and he jumped away from me, not at me. I kept running towards him slashing the legs and it didnt attack me ONCE. Just kept jumping away from me. Lucky? Maybe, but i will never fight this boss again and that makes me happy.

So question about Chalice dungeons.

I've only done the very first one. I've just defeated everything in Unseen Village. Should I start digging into them? I'm a little confused as to what they are for. It seems to me that they are dungeons you can send to your friends. But I play exclusively offline.

Has anyone figured out how many bosses are absolutely required to finish the game? I'm just curious, it's crazy hearing about how many of them are optional.

7 i think

In the later dungeons you can find some of the best gems in the game.. aswell as versions of weapons with different gem slots

Oh damn, I have mine at +9 and forgot about the bolt gems I've found...
I know what I'm doing first thing when I get home!

Yoooo I just beat Sh
adow of Yharnam
on my first try! Is it considered one of the easiest bosses, or did just get really lucky?

Wowza!

I wonder if anyone has tried this with guns. A status-effect gun would be interesting.

That wouldn't work because rapid poison needs fast continuous attacks to build up the hidden rapid poison meter on the enemy.

Wow that's amazing. So rapid poison works like Bleed damage in Dark Souls? I might do that with the Burial Blade.

I tried it with the burial blade, but it takes a long time for it to kick in, & on fast moving bosses it's useless because enemies seem to recover from it very fast, each attack fills a fixed amount of the enemy's rapid poison bar regardless of the physical damage, so a fast weapon would give you better results (from my admittedly limited testing of like 30 minutes lol).

Was playing last night and fought the Blood Starved Demon or whatever its name is, that was the easiest boss in the game so far. I know its only 3 bosses in but that was really really easy.

adow of Yarnham
on my first try! Is it considered one of the easiest bosses, or did just get really lucky?

Noice! I beat them on the first try and well, although I think I was a bit overleveled too. Took me about 6 minutes of doging and running :p

I don't think there's a full transformation in the game.

Awww.... I would like to think there are still plenty of undiscovered secrets in the game yet to be found.

Anybody wants to help me with
Ebriteas
?

lvl 81 - passcode: etho

I'm before the fog after you down the elevator ;)

Fuck. I still can't get over how good the axe is. Damn.

Choosing the axe is basically choosing easy mode. Makes me wonder how many of the people who claimed this game wasn't that hard started their game with this OP ass weapon...

I can't decide if I'm proud or annoyed that I unwittingly played this game on hard-as-fuck mode my first playthrough.

It's the lighthouse in the left. Stay outside the light and you won't get frenzied.

The upside is that it affects the enemies too.

Doesn't affect invaders though. Feels so cruel being one. I even tried helping a victim recently but realised invaders can't do shit to the enemies. It's pretty lucrative for invasions however, looking forward to getting back there on NG+.

130 lvl , Watchdog of the Old Lords (Defiled Chalice version) , cannot pass the second phase ( 4xfire and a swipe with fire). I really need help over here. No tutorials or advices are going to help , since I've tried everything .... again please assist

i had to be a wimp in that fight.

I used the Hunter Axe 2 handed mode. After his cooldown on attacks, run in and do a single R2 attack. It will be a quick overhead hit that will catch his head. After about 7 of those he'll have taken enough damage to open up a visceral attack.

when he does the rapid fire bites, just dodge backwards a few times. he shouldn't touch you. Infact it's probably the safest opening for the R2 attack in the that fight.

Hahah, yeah, I saved the clip and it's just me rolling around and getting the occasional hit in :D

Yes, i feel the pain/joy. When i get invaded i always run to the start of the world, that way i have a nice arena to fight without worrying about frenzy...

I'm doing a Skill/Arcane build and run with the Cane/Tonitrus as my two weapons and use the cane to clear out groups while the Tonitrus for solo fights/bosses. Works really well for me so far.

Matchmaking is as bad as always ever, huh?

I can only get summoned. Until now I could never summon anyone but Alfred on the BSB fight... :(

Has anyone been getting a frame rate drop to 1FPS when entering some bosses or using co-op? It has been happening to me frequently lately.

Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqjHFpapqdc

I read that this is a bug related to having camera autocorrect set to OFF. I hate camera autocorrect but I have since been playing largely without lock on for bosses and havent had an issue.

This is supposed to addressed int he mythical bug fix and load time improvement patch.

Pthumerian Descendant
in defiled & cursed chalice gave me wayyyy more trouble than I was expecting. Took forever to get the timing on visceral attacks.

With the Forbidden Woods skip, it's possible to beat Bloodborne and kill every non-Beast boss without killing a single beast. Djura would be proud.
