Also hint, level up your shotty/pistol with materials you don't need for your main weapon.
The damage is not big but 60 dmg can finish of an enemy off, when you and him are low on health and attacking would be dangerous.

So where should I go next?

So far I've beaten:

Cleric Beast
Father G
Blood Starved Beast
Vicar Amelia
Hemwick Witches

I haven't done any NPC storyline things, so maybe someone can point me in the direction of one if that seems like a logical next step. The only thing I've done so far is
return to the little girl who gave me the music box and send her to the chapel.

Time to visit an all time favourite area of many gaffers, the Forbidden Woods :)
Go to the round plaza with the two axe giants in Cathedral ward. There was a door with someone who wanted a password...maybe you have it now. There will be another NPC there. Also check doors with lamps. With some of them you can interact, like with the girl.

What the heck. I was summoned to help a guy in a Chalice dungeon and I can hear him fighting the boss (and the boss's health bar is on the screen), but the door to the boss is sealed shut so I can't help him.

Edit: He got wrecked, poor guy :/

Im currently at a job in a state I have no friends in for the next month.... should I drop $460 for a PS4 and BB?

Probably

I would keep an eye on slickdeals for a better deal

Shame you missed the Bloodborne bundle

400 bucks on Amazon got you BB, LastofUs Remasters and PS4 with free shipping

That's odd. Usually they can't enter the boss area until you enter first.

I used by umbilical cord by mistake. I don't even know what it was for. Is that going to cost me? What was it supposed to be for? Nothing seemed to happen when I used it.

Wow. I didn't realize how having high insight can really fuck you over. Was running 90-99 insight all the time and was cruising along until I met the Abhorrent Beast the 2nd time in Loran Chalice. He kept on fucking me up. Wondering what was wrong. Maybe, I was using the wrong strategy. Watch some YouTube vidoes. Nope. Too low lvl, 75. Dropped my insight to 10 and it was a piece of cake.

after getting the plat, I made a new character to help my friends stuck in the forbidden woods.

went for a cane wielding gal. Threaded cane is so fun !

I think its because Insight lowers frenzy resistance and lowers beashood status and vice versa

I love how they tie world lore into the gameplay tapestry and theming

How do you get to the nightmare Frontier?

Bothered me that no-one was answering this, so I looked it up. I wanted to know, too.

You know the path to the Unseen Village from the Grand Cathedral? Go past where those two hunters were, down to the Lecture Hall with the creepy statues everywhere, and the big god-thing that will grab you with a blue portal? Same room you spawn in after beating Rom and seeing that creepy woman.

When you've got the green Tonsil Stone (from red lantern people after beating Vicar Amelia), you can get grabbed by the big guy in that hall and he will apparently transport you to the Nightmare Frontier.

Imma try it tonight...

Check
outside Cathedral Ward
for Eileen the Crow quest,
she should be on your left once you exist the cathedral from the front door. Talk to her, then go back to where you fought Father G, you'd fight a hunter there and Eileen will join the fight, make sure she doesn't die in the fight and don't hit her a lot. Esiest way is, once Eileen join the fight, just keep shooting the hunter with your pistol whenever he try to attack her, let her do the real damage.

Does Insight affect bosses? I though it was just regular enemies.

Today I finally defeated
Ebrietas

Went with what someone suggested, keep away and jump in only to hit the head, well, at the start I went behind her between her tails and drained a third of her health.

In the end it was a double ko, as I wailed desperately at her as she charged her laser attack, and she released it as I was swinging my ludwig for a last time.

Luckily the blood echoes accumulated on screen while I died, and then I could go recover them with no problem.

Prolly the hardest boss so far, even harder than
Gerhnam

Beat Rom the other night and have been working on that gold hunter to finish Eileen's quest. Holy shit, this guy is tough. I got him down to a sliver of health once and he shot me with that stupid gun at point blank and wrecked me. Every other time I've died really early. Any tips on this guy?

Also, where do I need to make a backup save to get the three ending trophies? Are there any other missable trophies? I'd like to go for the platinum if I can.

Awesome. Thanks! When should I be visiting Cainhurst? I see people talking about it.

I don't even know what this means.

I got mine to +8, and a couple 'o gems in it. I do slow poison dam +8 or something.

When do you start getting the right gems for some proper modifications?

In chalice dungeons depth 4 and 5. It's hard as hell.

Rapid Poison is not the same as Slow Poison. Kinda dumb translation.

Have you tried it in PvP?

Are you actually poisoning someone with this?
I have tried it and if I have those high phys. gems in there it is quite more effective!

Yep, you can smell the despair after you throw a numbing mist and hit them with rapid poison a couple of times.

It's really really REALLY good at 30.

I use Blade of Mercy +9 with 3 rapid poison gems and a scythe +10 with damage gems when I feel like damage is more effective.

You just hit them with swift attacks and the poison hits really fast.

EDIT: My Blade of Mercy does only 291 damage though, it's all about the poison. The scythe is currently 520 damage, IIRC. I need more damage gems for it >_<

The Rapid Poison Stat, I have it at 30 with 3 gems on my Blade of Mercy.

And I have no idea, I'm just using my first character for PVP, since I thoroughly explored everything and grabbed a lot of stuff on NG+ too, NG++ I just rushed to
Nightmare Frontier for PVP
, killing only
Gascoigne
and buying the Hunter Chief Emblem.

I'm not a fan of Chalice Dungeons at all either, so I'll just do them on my first character as well to grab the gems there, but I'm not sure I'll enjoy making more PVP builds because of how the gems work. They're too important for me to just rush through the game to make my build and go to the "PVP arena" as I did in Dark Souls.

When is the guide coming out? Amazon.com says it's going to be out next Tuesday, but then Amazon Germany says it's day 30, Amazon.co.uk says next Friday and even Amazon Spain says today.

I'm confused.

I loved FW, and the bossfight was epic!

i'm assuming NA will be next week. not sure of other territories.

Beat the
Witches of Hemlock
last night. Probably one of the easier boss fights I've done so far, but still tense.

I also discovered the Insight Pool in the Hunter's Dream, which I could honestly have seen completely missing for the entire game.

Finally took down
Martyr Logarius
after attempting him for a solid 2-3 hours... I didn't look up any tips or anything, I had no idea you could
destroy the blades he puts on the ground
. That would have helped!

But there you go. You need a certain amount of hits to an opponent. So with a higher damage output wouldn't the hits for poisoning someone be already those that killed your target?

That was the biggest help for me.
Once I discovered you can just lock onto the sword with your pistol as soon as he plants it and destroy it makes that entire move defunct.

Also once you
get your parry timing down he goes from being one of the hardest to one of the easiest bosses.

I was ecstatic when I finally beat him.

You can also
make him easier in his second form by doing a visceral attack on him when he tries to buff himself. He was much easier after knowing those two things.

I thought so too, which is why I ignored those gems for 90 hours, but it's actually really fast.

And rapid poison hits hard, the instant damage makes it kinda like bleed when it hits.

EDIT: Especially because, at least right now, no one is wasting rune slots with poison resistance.
