As long as you don't turn on ubersampling, you should have no problems (I think).

It was Arkane and the game was Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. It was great.

I think comparing Bloodborne and Witcher is completely missing the point. They are focusing on completely different things and both are fantastic.
 
Can't wait so hyped. Only thing I'm afraid of is I've played all the witcher games and haven't finished a one. Just lose interest eventually.

Probably best to wait till the game is released and see what the benchmarks are. That is my plan. I would hope an I5 + GTX970 or 980 would pull 1080P@60FPS set to Ultra.

It's not often, I think it happened twice in The Witcher 2. It wouldn't make sense to get an infinite amount of time to make your decision when
Dandelion and Zoltan are about to get hanged
(W2 spoilers). It introduces a sense of urgency which is fitting for some decisions.

We disagree then. I feel like TW can do much more in combat than what is done on the From games. Fluid and precise. Think Batman. I can understand what you mean by enemy encounter on BB. It looks unforgiving and a lot more tense. The attacks aren't as varied though, but I think I now understand where some of you are coming from in regards to BBs combat.

Not gonna compare the Souls games, but i personally(personally), felt that BB's gameplay was much superior to W2's. In Witcher its serviceable as a western action RPG where you are attacking and doing magic, but its not so nuanced where your timing your dodges with precision and your counters and riposts with the gun as in BB.

BB is much more combat oriented as an action RPG(infact that's a majority of all you do), where Witcher is more general purpose, with more of an emphasis on exploration and other things, so it makes sense BB would be better at that.

Just from having played W2 though, its obvious that the Witcher series and From's action RPG's are both amazing, just in different ways.

Yeah, you're really pushing fantasy game boundaries there. I can't think of a single one that has elf racism.

We all know that Poland is one of the most racially diverse areas ever. So games where the location is based on Poland should have tons upon tons of ethnic diversity.

Yea. I loved that game. To stab an Orc through his head as opposed to the physics in Skyrim. That is how I am debating TW and BB. I guess I am not making a good case explaining.

But everyone here knows these two games will compete for RPG of the year. The inevitable vs thread will arrive sooner (summer), rather than later. I just think TW3 looks like it will be in a different league than most games this year. I like Batman, Zelda, GOW and Uncharted more, but I am not going to front on what CD Project Red is doing with this game. I am speechless. Guess I am just surprised this game is not being hyped like BB was before launch. Maybe peeps are skeptical to jump on a series at the end of it's trilogy. Most concerns are about missing on the story and lore.
 
So as someone who's never paid any attention to the series, I'm actually considering picking this up, mainly due to it resemblance to Elder Scrolls games in that there's emphasis is exploration and narrative. That said, is it worth it to play either of the previous 2 in the meantime? I've seen videos of the earlier games, but the janky, boring-looking combat of the first turned me off. Do they play better than they look?

Let me tell you a story friend...

Story is about a man (that man is me, hint hint) who has tried to play W1 and W2 for YEARS and just can't bring himself to do it and has since resorted to eventually getting around to watching the NUMEROUS recaps/let's plays/summarizes of those game's events.

That being said, the man HAS read the books themselves (seriously, at least read The Last Wish) and adores the universe. Said man is hoping that W3 is finally the one that get's the gameplay right as everything else is fantastic :)

Reminds me of the backlash against Kingdom: Deliverance, a game based on medieval Bohemia, not having black characters. Ridiculous.

I guess you could count Azar Javed from The Witcher 1 as black although he is more tanned.

Nice explanation. BB lacks diversity in combat although I agree it looks truer to the form. Now I understand where you and others are coming from. I prefer the Batman, GoW, Bayonetta type combat myself though. A lot more fun and serviceable without having to break a sweat constantly.
