That's pretty fucked.

If Kilgrave can make people do whatever the fuck he wants, how are Daredevil and Spider-Man able to kick the shit outta him on the reg?

Willpower amongst other things, I believe you can actually hold your breath before encountering him to avoid the pheromones.

Those with strong wills can over come it. And there are few stronger than Daredevil and Spiderman

I sincerely hope they don't do the Spider-woman plotline now that Marvel have their Sony deal in place. Daredevil went to some dark places with its gore, but Jessica Jones with that plot line....
Just the image of Spider-woman with her flesh being extracted and used as a drug makes me shudder. I'd hate to see that being put on film.

They really need to get on top of keeping shit in print. Even if it is print on demand.

Agreed. Marvel is terrible about keeping things in print. At least DC can keep whole runs of things or major stories in print and make them easy to find. It seems the only Marvel thing that sticks in print is Civil War. It is so hard recommending stuff to customers at work when you can't get ahold of shit, or it is only in giant omnibus editions that people don't want to pay for.

Turned her into a drug addicted drug machine( there is a process in the MU where you can make drugs from Superhumans).

Which is really weird, because Jessica Jones literally began as Spider-Woman (Jessica Drew) with the serial numbers filed off.

Bendis: Originally, "Alias" was going to star Jessica Drew, but it became something else entirely. Which is good, because had we used Jessica it would have been off continuity and bad storytelling.

The thing that happens to Spider-Woman
is also in the Bendis Daredevil comics. The Owl lets a doctor do "dna scrapes" on him and they sell it on the street as a new high profile drug. One pusher is seen lying to a buyer "this shit came from Spider-Man!" lol

I have a feeling Marvel wants their street level heroes to be as "realistic" or down to earth as possible. Like Daredevil's final costume and Purple Man not having purple skin (don't know yet). Just a hunch. Hopefully I'm wrong.

lol.

Amazing.

Awh he won't actually have bright purple skin? I guess that makes sense

A cool way to do it would have him turn purple to whoever he's using his powers on, like some hallucination thing.

With some luck he'll have a subtle purple tone through CGI either on his skin or eyes when he uses his powers.

Also, not to be that guy, but dude's hung.

If they added CGi later to make his skin purple then wouldn't he have a bunch of dots all over his face for reference?
The dots are mostly for motion-tracking, to be able to replicate human face movements on a CGI face. For instance, Davy Jones in Pirates of the Caribbean. Adding a digital color should be possible without them. On the other hand, they just painted Michael Rooker blue and Zoe Saldana green in Guardians of the Galaxy.

That's mainly for mo-cap, but this could simply be a picture taken between sets or something. He probably doesn't want to spend hours in make-up and walk around purple all day. They might still do it in other scenes, but I can't see The Purple Man walking around public, well, purple haha.

I think you only need dots if you're going to change the face into something else, but a colorization wouldn't need them.

Alright I figured they used tracking dots on the face for that kind of thing, I thought it would've made that easier for non mo cap also.

Every movie and show has digital color correction these days. They don't need dots to make him purple if they so choose.

Why would they need dots to recolour his skin? The dots are used when something not originally in the scene needs to be added and precisely follow another object or the camera (although you can use almost any point of reference for simple camera tracking). Like if they were adding a mask to his face or something they would need to be able to recreate the shape of his face in 3D in the computer and the dots provide the 3D tracking information from what is a 2D image.

Honestly, I have never read Jessica Jones or any of these other street-level superheroes, but four episodes into Daredevil and I'm now really hyped for all of these other Netflix series. Also, I'm really intrigued to see David Tennant as a villain. I really like him as an actor and I think he could be brilliant as an antagonist.

Has Iron Fist been cast yet?

It goes like this:

Daredevil
AKA Jessica Jones
Luke Cage
Iron Fist
Defenders
Yeah. I think originally Iron Fist was gonna come before Luke Cage, but when the JJ crew decided they wanted Luke, Marvel switched things around so they could hype his show coming right off his role with Jessica Jones.
