Great. You like the pvp. Many of the people that play this game only still play it for the raid. You aren't one of them so you can be happy.
Congratulations?
For the small percentage of the Destiny playerbase that actively plays the raids on a continual basis and that is the sole mode that they derive their enjoyment from, then yes, I guess it really does suck for those people. Though I'm unsure if Bungie ever explicitly promissed a new raid with this DLC, or if it was just an assumption by the community that there would be one since TDB featured one.
you're getting value as a PvP player. New guns, maps, armor. If I was you, I'd probably be excited for the expansion.
I, however, loved 6 player co-op. I'm not a fan of PvP. Raids were the main event for a segment of the fan base. 3 player horde mode isn't a suitable replacement. As a PvE guy, this news doesn't cut it. Hence, disappointment
I guess if you only like the 6 man, dungeon crawls of the game then sure. However, I still feel that it's unfair to just dismiss the new mode before they have even defined it. I, personally, am of the opinion that the game is far more fun with 3 players across all phases (PvE and PvP), but I've always felt that way about multiplayer numbers, that fewer players is more fun. For me, yes, I feel that $20 is a fair asking price.
Yes, it's hilarious when a company angers the majority of players still bothering to play it. I'm sure it's all laughs down at Bungie when they read this thread.
I'm almost positive that the number of people who actively raid is not the majority and is in fact the niche. It does suck for those that want a new six player cooperative experience, and I think that they could have designed this new mode to work around 3-6 players. I still think this new mode can be some of the most fun content yet and that people are being too quick to judge it. And like I said above, I'm not sure if Bungie ever explicitly promised a new raid with this DLC, or if it was just assumptions. If it's the latter, then that's the communities fault, much like all the people who thought this game was going to have the same amount of content as an MMO and that the game itself was one as well, even though Bungie repeatedly and explicitly said that that wasn't the case. I knew coming in that the game would be essentially an expanded Halo with gear and some RPG trappings and that's exactly what it is so I've been pretty happy with what has been delivered to this point.
I refuse to pretend to be excited for this. I wanted a new raid and I'm not getting it. I wish I didn't spend money on the season pass.
I think that blindly buying Season Passes is never a good idea unless you are absolutely sure you were going to enjoy and use at least the majority of what it contains. Since you were seemingly only interested in the 6 man raids/PvE, then buying the Pass was probably not a good idea. For me, it's been and will be worth it personally as I've gotten enjoyment from all phases of the game.
What is hyperbolic about those statements? I feel foolish for spending money on this and thinking I'd actually get another raid. And yeah, that other guy probably did delete the game from his hard drive. Is that really that outlandish and hard to believe? Or do you just not really understand what the word means? It's ok if it's the latter, I don't think half the people who use it regularly on here know what it means.
I was mainly speaking on the common hyperbolic negativity that surrounds the game in general. I bought the game with the expectation of it being Halo+ and getting enjoyment from all modes of the game (Single Player PvE, Co-op PvE, and PvP most importantly). I guess if the absolute only reason for a person to play Destiny is for the Raids then yeah, I guess those kind of statements are warranted. Oh well!
For many of us, the raids were, by far, the best part of Destiny. By far. You really can't understand why people would be upset? /gaf
Well, to be fair, all non-raid content falls into this category.
I personally feel that the Raids are completely overrated and lose their novelty almost immediately after people maximize how to overcome them. The first time through they are good fun, but for them to be the only part of the game that people enjoy, I do find a little silly. One of the reasons that they annoy me personally is that as someone whose circle of friends played Halo's multiplayer as a group almost every day, the raids have completely ruined that. None of the people I played Halo with even bother with the game's PvP because all they want to do is RaidRaidRaid. For them, it's less about a good time with friends and playing a game for fun, and more about the reward, and that's so disappointing for me personally. I can understand why those who legitimately get their sole enjoyment from the games' 6 player Raids would be upset though. For me, the Raids have actively hurt the enjoyment I get from playing the game with my friend circle, so I'm okay with their exclusion this time around.
Honestly though, it's more an issue with how the game handles rewards and how it completely shafts the competitive community in terms of rewarding the time commited. Hopefully this is something Bungie better addresses sooner rather than later.
Sorry for the late replies, my internet crapped out and I had to type from my phone lol.
