It didn't really show anything particularly interesting to me. Felt like another teaser, a series of random scenes one after another, I don't see anything worth getting hyped over. I'm honestly reminded of the Crystal Skulls trailer in that it was propelled by heavy doses of nostalgia and music from the old movies. Everyone thought that thing looked great too.

I was kind of ho-hum with every thing Star Wars Episode 7 thus far, but this trailer, man this trailer....I tingled when that theme kicked in and at the end "Chewie. We're home." It made me feel misty eyed, like seeing childhood friends again.

The lightsaber that's being handed to the girl, I think, looks a bit like Luke's blue one, but I thought he lost that one in Empire Strikes Back when he got his hand cut off.

My hype has risen for this movie at exponential levels. I did not give a shit about this movie a year ago and kept dreading it being more disappointment, even if the prequels clearly was more GL's fault for being bad than not and bringing in someone else to steer the franchise should have been a good move. I even have been glad since Disney bought the rights to all of Star Wars, but with so much shifting of things around, I definitely began to fear the worse. Abrams is a good director in general even if I'm not completely enamored by all of his work, but while Star Trek looked like a more interesting take for the series I wasn't sold on him reworking Star Wars.

I'm not going to say I'm completely sold, I'm still cautiously optimistic, but man, the look of it is great. Even outside of the nostalgia nods, it's starting to come together for me in a way that feels like the movie I've wanted after the original trilogy.

I'm definitely there day one.

Spielberg stated time and time again they wouldn't overuse CG. And I believe it. And judging from the trailer I still believe it. Most of it looked practical. It's okay to use CG for background compositions and whatnot, it's not like this is full of CGI monsters and lava planets. The stunt work looked great, the action looked great, and none of it really looked that CG to me. Of course they have to use CG for certain things, like maybe that huge blade spinning at their truck, but uh, if I were an actor I'd like that to be CG as well.

This does not look like over the top CG. It just doesn't. It's not an opinion, it's fact.

Well it's rumored the younger couple somehow stumble upon it. They probably hold on to it during the escape where "Han saves them" and this is probably where he brings them. Leia tells them it's Lukes and to seek him out to help restore balance once again, etc.

With the Luke VO it makes a lot of sense.

The easiest way to make someone sound younger is by adjusting the pitch of their voice in post production. Hamill's voice is so far gone though that they probably hired an impersonator, if those are indeed new lines spoken by a Young Luke.
