I just don't see a point with these films without Darth Vader. All the other sith lords have been middling at best.

But Vader isn't even the best sith

... all these MSW "leaks" are making me anctious as fuck.

Han getting killed by Kylo Ren? Again, I'll walk the fuck out if that happens. Maybe in Episode 8 or 9. You just DONT fucking have no Han for 32 years only to have him get killed. I cherish hope out of the fact he will appear next year on the SWC.

Wow, I told myself not to get caught up in the hype, but the more I see and hear from this, the more I feel like a little school girl waiting for christmas.

Dude if that has nothing to do with the trailer don't post this here. There is a spoiler thread.

Doesn't do much for me, they're trying to remind you of the original trilogy as much as they possibly can. It's just pandering.

How else do you play it out? everything completely new? We still have the same fighter planes in the skies as we did in the 80s

This.

Also the reason I love the OT more then the PT. This trailer just nailed it. Even at work people discuss this.

Bring on Teaser #3 please. 3 months maybe? Can't think of any other BIG Star Wars event anytime soon?

Some Vlogs from the Star Wars Celebration from in Anaheim, California.

Outside - http://youtubedoubler.com/f4sr
Inside - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY_8afb9TgM

I really enjoyed watching those... especially the inside one! Lots of cool stuff shown off.

Maaan... I need to get my butt to celebration next year! It should be quite an exciting year in the wake of The Force Awakens and leading up to Rogue One, maybe even more exciting than this year's Celebration! Though I don't know if they can top that opening panel... seeing BB-8 rolling around on stage with all the new and returning cast... it was almost magical.

Glorious. Got a little teary at the end. Return of the Jedi was my favourite video to rent at the store as a kid (as well as the others but I always went for that one first)

I love that the heroes look almost always surprised, afraid, exhausted, dirty, etc.

It's what made Indiana Jones so great back then too.

I love that the heroes are running around in actual locations, or on sets. In the prequels, it was like everyone was on a treadmill in front of a green screen.

?? The trailer on Youtube is also 1080p.

Yeah but bitrate greatly matters, and the bitrate on YT is far lower than an Apple sanctioned QT trailer. It's like saying there's no difference between a Netflix film and a BluRay because they're both 1080p, even though one is 5GB and the other is 50GB.

The great thing about the audience at the unveiling was when the question was asked about using more real location, sets etc JJ responded doing it more like that was very important, it looks real, better for actors, over time it never looks out of place, lighting is believable, natural, real. The audience went wild, clear a message as ever to Disney/Lucasfilm. CGI is still a big part but the core needs to be there. The trailer alone shows how much better it is.

I still fear the old actors appearance will be cringe-worthy. I hope it's handled well but even that shot of Han...mmm...I hope they don't try to make the character exactly the same, young Han Solo personality into an old shelf won't work.
Also, even if everything is well done, it's re-using old ideas a lot, it lacks a sense of wonder, nothing weird or strange seen in the teasers so far, episode 1 trailer was more varied and had a lot more "what's that?" moment. We'll see.

I don't think I was ever so emotional over a trailer in my life. I've had goose bumps every time I've watched the trailer. I'm 37 and grew up on Star Wars. It's like getting a old friend back. 😳

I enjoyed it because its Star Wars. But the trailer is flat outside of Solo's appearance in the end.

The emotional response is not even comparable to seeing Phantom Menace promos.

You just know JJ doesn't have time for that CGI stuff. Like, if JJ were to have made Episode 3, he would've filmed the Mustafar scenes in an active volcano. That's how much he gets Star Wars.

I think it looks fantastic. Though "The Resistance"? Yuck. That's the most generic name they could have come up with outside of "The Good Guys."

just woke up and noticed the entire livestream from today is archived on their youtube page EXCEPT they removed the panel... I hope they plan on adding that seperately on there soon

7 hours of interviews and stuff... you'll need to fast forward through a lot of the slow parts where nothing happens

Can't wait for today's live stream!

Welcome to Star Wars.

Anyhoo, teaser was awesome. That shot of the downed Star Destroyer was, by itself, more visually interesting than anything seen in the prequels.

I liked the lightsaber duels in Ep1, but Lucas did go over the top in Ep2 and 3(like with everything else). Ep4 did have the worst lightsaber duel though, that twirl that Alec Guinness does just makes me cringe everytime I watch it.

I'm saying Disney shouldn't have bothered because nothing will ever top the original trilogy.

I mean no one's forcing you to watch the teaser or the movie, not sure why comments like this are necessary. You're not excited for the movie, but that doesn't mean no one else is.
