Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

The "no single player campaign" isn't a make or break for me since Battlefront 1 didn't really add much to the single maps they put in. And Battlefront 2 was okay, but I spent way more time just playing single player maps.

I just hope the single player maps are designed well and the multiplayer works. Although the lack of space battle baffles me

Why do people want to pilot ATAT's?

It was fun in Battlefront 2 to be OP and mow down all enemy soldiers

Some good, some bad, some head-scratching. More of a traditional BF than I was expecting, though.

But no walkers? Really? Does that only mean AT-ATs, or AT-STs as well? The former I might understand. The latter... that's dumb. Really, really dumb. Just let us use the damn walkers, come on.

This game will sell boatloads any way you slice it and is probably better to put up against CoD than battlefield anyway. If Sony has marketing deal for this, they'll do really well.

There’s no aim-down-sights to be found in first-person, just a reticule in the center of the screen that feels more like classic Battlefront than DICE’s Battlefield. At one point, the trooper picks up a heavy duty sniper blaster and scopes in. At another point, he switches from first-person view to third-person and runs around hip-firing his blaster rifle. Like Battlefront 2, this game will allow for switching between first-person and third-person at any time.

There has been no mention of bots as far as I've seen, so there may be no single player option at all.

According to Shinobi theyre on a set path and you just use the guns. Apparently in some Walker assault mode.
From the same source that told me about the "campaign" mode, third person mode being in and heroes, so I'm assuming they're correct on that too.

People just couldn't wait to complain. Everything sounds good I'm hype. Fully expecting space battles in an expansion or sequel

Remember there being a campaign mode in the originals, but didn't pay much attention to them since they were just set on the multi-player maps.

How would you have made that fun? They would have been like oil freighters, at best.
Oh for sure but I just would like to have the feeling of doing it this gen with the bigger battles going on. It's not deal breaking but I don't know, if they're there I think I should be able to pilot it is all.

Same reason we wanted to be able to control aircraft carriers, bombers, and gunships in Battlefield: it has potential for more dynamic, emergent gameplay.

Even though those mechanics could be misused (hello, beaching the carrier), in a way, it felt less gamey than being "on rails" the way you are now. When you just hop into a CPU-controlled vehicle and shoot from it, it feels more like a COD killstreak minigame than anything else.

We have read it. But you know... talk down to people who expect a PROGRESSION from BF2 rather than a REGRESSION.

I'm still excited, just a little deflated. It's a missed opportunity and probably a result of rushing it out to make Ep. 7 release.

There are four other Star Wars games in development focused on single player campaigns. Battlefront has never been about single player and the focus should remain on providing the absolute best multiplayer experience possible.

Actually no campaing means they're dedicating their time 100% in the multiplayer modes. So it probably means better chances for a solid release and a more well done online mode!

Also, it seems Battlefront is well known by its MP, not its campaing. So I'm fine with it.

The on-rail walkers sounds kind of lame, but I can deal with it provided everything else can be piloted.

It's probably done more for balancing than a limitation. I'm sure if they had more time to better balance combat overall, we'd have pilotable AT-ATs.

Thank you Shinobi :)

Also guys, I don't think you understand how refreshing playing an FPS/shooter w/o ADS is going to be...

Hype back up a few levels.

As someone who never grew up with shooters that didn't have ADS...why is it considered such a bad thing? Is it because of the decreased spread/slight zoom?
