Leaked Battlefront info (40 players, heroes, free Ep7 DLC, FPS & TPS) [Full Screens]

Campaign was great in the last two games to hone your skills, learn the maps and generally just have some fun.

I'm pretty bummed there's no campaign this time around. Huge loss to the series.

Yeah but from what we're seeing here the "campaign" format from the first two games is the same as what's in the solo/co-op mode they're describing for this game. So...it shouldn't be any different, right?

That's wrong. BF2 had a campaign. A story driven campaign that had a proper structure, objectives, cut scenes. The works.

Stop trying to excuse the lack of a campaign in this by outright lying about what was in BF2.

The campaign missions were rehashes of events that happened in the movies.

does the game have a single player ? or it's just online arena shooter?

Battlefield/front is not an arena shooter ffs

Hmm. 40 players is interesting. I guess something had to give in order to maintain both framerate and and graphics. I just wist they would have included bots to bridge the gap.

Free movie DLC was a no brainer as is the co-marketing with the film. I was also pleasantly surprised to see Sony attached to this as well.

Do people not realise that this was the entire draw of Battlefront? Heroes ruined it.

Do people not realize fun is relative? My friends and I almost always played Heroes and Space Battles exclusively. The Heroes were pretty much the best part about 2 for us.

The gungan-style energy shield gives me hope that they aren't completely excising prequel material from the game. Regardless of how you feel about the films themselves, its hard to deny that there's a ton of cool planets and vehicles from the prequels that helped make the original battlefronts what they were and they'd be great to have here too

IGN state "the first 4 planets revealed" http://uk.ign.com/articles/2015/04/...+twitter&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social

I'm assuming more are to be confirmed?

"Star Wars: Battlefront's multiplayer will take place on four locations, EA revealed today."

The first sentence in the article. Doesn't bode well for varied locations...

Personally, the most fun I had in Battlefront 2 was the Tatooine level where everyone chose a hero. If we could get have that mode again, I would be very pleased.

BF2 campaign was just multiplayer maps with a few pointers and voice over here and there, you can't seriously consider it a proper campaign.

I'm really curious how split-screen will work. PvZ Garden Warfare (another Frostbite game) has split-screen but the sacrifice is it only runs at 30fps that way.
Beyond excited! The only bummer is a big one though...no space battles..
Guys, we will get space battle dlc right? Right?
Almost definitely.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, so here goes:

Pre-order Star Wars Battlefront and receive Early Access to the Battle of Jakku!

2 maps set on the all-new planet of Jakku
7 days early access for those who pre-order Star Wars Battlefront

Available as a free download to all players on December 8th, 2015

Off of Gamestop's website. So that basically confirms that there will be multiple maps per planet.

The Walkers aren't pilot-able?

What ... do they do, then?

They walk. And you're allowed to shoot turrets out of them. Yeah...

Stormtroopers were not clones, they were primarily recruits from all over the galaxy. Brush up on your Star Wars canon knowledge before stating stuff like that.

I remember something saying that after the clone wars the stormtroopers were still clones and that they just brought in different gene stocks. In fact IIRC Battlefront 2 stated this.

I feel they are just wanking the OT crowd because the movie is coming out, they will likely sell some Clone wars DLC down the road.

The lack of planets and maybe even galactic conquest is very disappointing along with no space battles. The original battlefront started off pretty bare bones but even that had conquest and a decent number of planets and maps. Maybe I'm being to hard on Dice but my hype has died down for this game.

Amazon concurs

Well that is very interesting. It seemingly confirms the New Republic is a thing, so the Rebel Alliance hasn't become the Resistance after all? Lends some credence to the theories that the Resistance is a New Republic-backed group fighting against the First Order/Imperial Remnant.

Yeah basically thats how the older ones had it too.

It is, but people have been freaking out about the whole "four planets" thing so I thought I'd try and bring some common sense -- and maybe a couple of facts -- into the thread.

Guys, we will get space battle dlc right? Right?

sure.
but you have to buy the special editon and all the other DLCs.
and then maybe, in a few years there will be space battles.

maybe..

not...

New Republic confirmed? Cool.

I think this is the Free DLC

I'm guessing this is some of the canon that ties to the movie?

A little bit dissapointed, really wanted to play space fights..
And no SP :/
But I'm glad too see that DICE will run the game on 60 frames

2 player splitscreen + spec ops like missions has me semi-interested in this game now.

Before I wasn't interested in it at all after hearing all the, it's just going to be battlefield with a star wars skin.
