Palpatine's murals seem to represent a much more "Tales of the Jedi" aesthetic in terms of beast riders.
There have been various interpretations over the years. Didn't know about Ashoka's sabers but it is interesting that the color range continues to grow.
I'm not getting a real "feudal" feeling off of the Darksaber, but the others sure.
I didn't say he was an EU invention.
Furthermore, Bane's EU appearance wasn't axed because of how he looked, the conversation didn't lend itself to Sith having ghosts. Lucas felt it clashed with his Force "ideology" and opted out. It didn't work out for the character at the time so they moved on. It's finding a place for him that they decided to reintroduce the character. The aesthetic alone wasn't the reason.
The OS, up until very, very recently acknowledged that the planet has existed with several different names over the generations. Strange they edited that. Of all the changes, that pisses me off the most. It's so insignificant. Darth Icky levels of stupid.
The way it is offered implies that it's not a priority. Do I expect aesthetics to change? Sure, they changed from TotJ to KotOR, and then KotOR toToR. I do think it is telling that so many are willing to adapt things, the Revan image being proof.
