DINOSAURS ON THE BIG SCREEN WOOOOOOOT UNF UNF UNF

Yeah it looks kinda dumb, but fun dumb has its place. I'll cram popcorn in my ears during the ham-fisted dialogue and enjoy it for what it is.

The I-Rex is a hybrid Raptor/T-Rex. It makes sense that it would be able to communicate with raptors and given its size they would probably see it as an alpha. I don't think the I-Rex is "talking" to the Pteradons, probably just roaring at them.
It isn't a Raptor hybrid.

there's mah girl

Is that really the T-Rex from the first movie? Seems too small.

The Dinos CG looks too colorful and poorly animated imo (floaty), in fact everything about this trailer looks low budget-ish..

What happened to the animatronics that was supposed to bring back the JP1 magic?

A 2+ minute trailer highlighting moments with a large scope is naturally going to have a lot of CG. The movie is over 2 hours long and will likely have shots where there are animatronics. They're just not in this trailer. One of the TV spots had an animatronic apatosaurus.

From what I know she isn't that smart.

Some people on reddit (and GAF, apparently) think the I-Rex has some kind of control over ALL dinosaurs--even herbivores.

They literally think the I-Rex is commanding the ankylosaurs to attack the gyrosphere and commanding the pterosaurs/dimorphs to attack.

If I'm wrong, I'll happily eat crow.

T-Rex is in? I wanna se her kill that wannabe badass dinosaur.

HTTYD2 style? That'd be so lame. lol

I really, really hope that isn't the case.

I think the most logical way to interpret that scene is that the I-rex is chasing the herbivores and they are trying to run away, swinging their tails to scare it off, but the kids are getting caught in the crossfire.

No idea where people are getting "mind control" dino from.

I can't say exactly what my problem with the CGI is, but it feels like they really aren't there. Which is something they nailed in the 1993 movie better. I dunno.

I kind of agree with this. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's how the dinosaurs move. And the raptors especially seem slightly oddly proportioned or something. I don't know, the dinosaurs seem more cartoony and less realistic-looking to me.

Yea, the smaller moments with one on one interaction between dinosaur/human will likely involve animatronics in some way. Basically any time you don't see a full body shot of a dino in relation to a human.

So much cheese. I'll watch it anyway.

Those Raptors on the beginning of the trailer look so fake, though. They look like they have been pasted over the scene...
Not feeling the CGi to be honest. :(

To those people who expect the magic from the first movie and being swept away again, yeah, it's not going to happen, the first movie was a once in a lifetime movie, there will never be another movie like that ever again.

Dinosaurs in movies doesn't impress me anymore like they did back then.

All I want in the end is to see another Jurassic movie.

Too many guns, too little sense of wonder.

Maybe that's just the direction they've gone for with the trailer, but half the joy of the original was simply seeing dinosaurs being dinosaurs on the big screen.

The first movie wasn't awesome just because it had dinosaurs though...

I'm sure there will be plenty of scenes showing the operational park with attendees in awe before everything goes down.

I'm honestly 100% glad it's not trying to do this. That already happened like over 20 years ago. Spielberg couldn't even replicate it himself in The Lost World, an even made fun of it. Not to mention that one of the points of the plot is that audiences have lost a bit of the excitement of seeing dinosaurs, which can relate to the movie audience; us. So it wouldn't really make sense if this movie was trying to stroke the nostalgia dick in regards to the original movie "wow factor." Don't pretend, don't replicate, just tell a new story. The concept is similar to the original, only with new ideas like the hybrid, and a fully functional park that has already been open for years prior to the film. So it shares some plot similarities to the original, but it has its own tone.

Hmmm what does Jurassic park need more of? I know! Guns and rocket launchers! And a Dino bigger than trex that's smarter than a 5th grader! And trained raptors! And model-esque lead actors! Yeah that'll do.

It would've been great if they had actually done this.

Strafer, can you gif the raptor scenes in the beginning of the trailer?

Exactly.

Even if they went for that, it would still pale in comparison to the original's sense of wonder AND it would get accusations of retreading the same territory. I'm really glad there is a time jump and some new ideas.

Trailer music. It's what appeals to audiences, like it or not. Score will be much more Williams. Giacchino doesn't do Zimmer.

I demand original composed music for trailers, dammit!

i love me some good dumb, this seems like bad dumb, or...well...just dumb. Awful trailer in my opinion

I love that we will see the park in action. I always wanted to see that.

And of course hell will break lose. You're not in for a documentary. This is an action movie. I love the people who say "How often will it go wrong?"

Seemingly not.

Though, some of the audience seems to have forgotten as well... *looks around thread*

We didn't forget, but maybe we're okay with having fun and getting a new story all the same. It's also interesting how some of you can deride from a 2 minute trailer every conversation or theme that's going to be in a 2+ hour movie.
