Nah, that isn't what's happening at all. You have to realize, she is smart but they're all just animals. And they aren't nearly as smart as her. She isn't psychic, or talking to the other dinos, that much I know.

From what I understand, she is being opportunistic- scaring the animals into a frenzy to help her own escape.

And you've almost posted every VFX shot in the film with this post! I mean, every isolated shot with a VFX dinosaur/element is surrounded by dozens of 100% real shots, whether it's actors and locations or practical dinos. You are kind of overstating the amount of VFX that are actually in even the VFX "heavy" sequences in the film.
 
Looks pretty good. The CGI looks a little too Hobbity for my taste (it reminds me of LoTR --> The Hobbit with super saturated colors and whatnot). I also feel like it's missing the sense of wonder that was present in the Spielberg films.

Overall it looks serviceable. I'll definitely be seeing it on day one.

Uh. That exact scene I posted, is a CGI shot. Including the head turn once the raptor hears his sister making a noise in the kitchen. You are aware that CG and practical VFX were used in numerous shots back to back to achieve one long sequence, right? You better watch that again.

They will have the T rex kill the new thing and it will feel like extreme pandering. This is what I'd do if I wanted to please fan boys in the easiest way possible
 
I really appreciate how non-shiny the classic Jurassic Park Dino CG is- something a lot of modern films, including Jurassic World suffer from.

However, I think the CG is looking solid. Some shots are fantastic, some OK. Can't say there was anything in this trailer that looked bad.

No, you are completely wrong here. This isn't even a shot that appears in the film. The similar shot you describe with the raptor turning it's head is indeed a CG raptor (which is a point I've made in these threads before, that full body shots or shots where the dinos articulate a considerable amount such as that specific shot were more often CG since the practical puppets couldn't move like that), but that's not what this specific shot is. I could go through the entire scene and point out when it's CG and when it's a puppet if you'd like, but I don't think that's needed.

It was more fundamentally a story about the whimsical notion of humans interacting with dinosaurs on absolute human terms ultimately being a farce.

And this movie is the same damn thing, and so was every movie between.

I had no interest in this movie. After reading all of the speculation and arguing, I feel like I need to see it just so I can find some closure.

The original Jurassic Park (and perhaps Lost World) were really good about obscuring the feet of dinosaurs in full-body shots of them standing relatively in one place, like in all of the gifs above. It was to help mask the fact that feet were the most difficult aspect of a cgi model to blend into the background plate, so that would of course make it hard to "anchor" the model into the world. It's not a problem with fast-moving dinosaurs

I wondered if they were still doing the same trick 20+ years later.

Looks like a probable "yes". Look at the direction of Pratt's shadow compared to those of the raptors. The raptor shadows were intentionally positioned to obscure their feet.

I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make. I'm not trying to deny the first movie used CG, I'm merely pointing out that the amount of CG in a modern film, like Jurassic World completely DWARFS the amount used in the original film. Comparatively it has a fairly small amount of VFX shots. There are only about 50 CG dinosaur shots in the entire film. Cumulatively the actual CG VFX work is about 4 minutes of screen time. That is miniscule. Jurassic World probably surpasses 2,000 VFX shots. Age of Ultron is supposed to be more than 3,000 shots.

This shot... god damn. I just noticed the shark is in half in this shot, meaning it's probably happening at the same time as the moment up top shown in the other trailers, but the people underground get to see it from this angle.

No one is even arguing that. I'm not. You just said the first film didn't use a lot of CG shots. I said it did. Anything else you are coming out of nowhere with and arguing with yourself about it. I mean, obviously a Summer Blockbuster in 2010+ would use more CG shots than one from the early 90's.

The shot of the Mosa chomping down on the Pteradon is the same shot as the previous teaser, so I doubt they'll use it twice. They probably just used half of the shark so there was plenty of blood to attract the Mosasaur into place.

I actually think it's two separate moments, because the pteranodons/dimorphodons are freed from the aviary during Indominus' attack and we see them attacking the park. You're shown the crowd above and the crowd below; the shark moment is the first one before the mayhem and the underground shot is the aftermath of it taking the shark from above and finishing it off. Later we'll see it take the pteranodon in the same fashion as the shark, which is why it's a similar shot.

Of course, it's a trailer so it's impossible to know either way, but we do have the context of the pteranodons attacking the main street in the day time, so it would sync up.

If that's the case I hope they go back and have the Mosa bite off a little less. There really isn't much left in the old trailer shot. I guess there really isn't a whole lot the Mosasaur could do, so they'd pretty much have to have similar shots.

Yeah, I thought about that, but the actual bite could have ripped it in half.

Another detail I like is how in the teaser you see Nick Robinson's character all like "I'm bored of Jurassic World" and in this trailer you get the voice-over of Bryce talking about how they keep adding new attractions causing attendance to spike, and then he's like "this is awesome!" implying that the underwater show is something recent that he hadn't seen yet.
 
when a genetically modified dinosaur breaks loose in a theme park, a detective and a psychiatrist from law and order team up to put an end to the madness.
 
Trailer looks pretty good to me. I'm super excited to see a functioning park, and less excited to see the hybrid and the raptor squad. I've come around to the idea of doing training/shows with them, like at Sea World, but riding out together like the trailer? Eh.... But I'm hopeful!

Demoncarnotaur, do you have some kind of insider access/knowledge of JW?
