Batman v Superman [Official Trailer Release]

Yeah well Tony is Sitting on the most important technological discovery ever. Not the miniaturization of the Arc Reactor, but inertial dampeners. By all rights after being shot out of the air in Iron Man 1 by the Tank he should have died on impact with the ground. Just because you stuff something Fragile into something durable doesn't change the laws of physics.

The point is that Tony stumbled into Thor, Thor held back, and even then Tony was barely competitive. But that isn't comparable because we're talking about a Batman who, again if rumours are true, had TWO YEARS of prep-time where he was probably studying Superman around the clock and analysing his every weakness/fighting techniques etc.

And judging by the trailer, Batman's goal is similar to Vanko's in Iron Man 2. He wants to show the world Superman isn't a God and that he can be hurt. Because deep down Bruce is still a scared little boy, and he needs time to work out the fact that he's scared shitless of a world with Aliens.

Ya know, it's like Iron Man 3... only he doesn't shrug off PTSD.

Here's the ant sized version. Brought the brightness up a bit in Photoshop since the original was nearly pitch black. Seeing Supes run like that looks silly.

Yeah, that looks dumb. But I guess it's to be expected

Interestingly the pre-movie Avengers tie-in comic makes a point to mention that whatever means Thor used to get to Earth came at a temporary cost to his strength. So Thor wasn't 100%

It came out just before Thor 2, so that's a retcon. I mean it's a valid point, but that was not their intent in The Avengers as they shot it.

Oh, I didn't realise.

It's weird, whenever I watch the Avengers I now see Thor as sickly in that first appearance. It's probably just the hair.

Welp.

I'd appreciate another movie not made around what fans want it to be. I have faith this will be one of the best super hero movies in years since DoFP. I'm more excited about Diana's appearance. The fact that since FOX made Elektra we haven't had a single female super hero in the forefront. I'm glad FOX and DC know what they're doing. I have faith they will once again bring a serious tone and actual coherent plots to the table.

What are you talking about? After the MCU, everyone wanted Batman and Superman on screen together, and they are basing it on a fan favorite story line lol. There's no way this movie will have the same amount of depth as DoFP. I just hope it's at least entertaining.

That comic does actually address some issues I had with The Avengers (underpowered Thor, there's more organic team banter etc.) It's a shame they couldn't have shot some of that stuff for a 'DVD extra' on Thor 2.

DoFP depth? WTF am I reading. What is deep about DoFP?

Well, seems like Batman (or someone/thing) definitely took Superman's power down a quite deal prior to this. Otherwise Superman would have done that warp maneuver and punched Batman through a wall.

Is this real?

Mega dumb fuckery.

Supes running instead of... lasering the fuck out of Bats with his eyes? Instead of flying towards him at Mach 3?

HTH fight with armored Bats?

LOL... I mean this is nerdgasm but so, so, so, so, so, so dumb.

So clearly Supes is being effected by some form of kryptonite because there's literally no way he would ever run like that at someone he wants to throw down with. It's the best way for them to actually have a fight if that's what they want. I'm really worried though about them basically assassinating Supermans character in this based in the previews. I really don't want the whole movie to be about Supes and Bats fighting. I'm hoping all this stuff is just from the 1st or 2nd act.

I can't speak for the additional scene from the IMAX teaser but Gail Simone from DC said everything you saw in the publicly released teaser happens in the first half of the movie.

What exactly is deep in DoFP. If you said that about First Class, I wouldn't have any issue with the statement.

Why is it that people find it hard to believe that 2 heroes with different views can't fight?

And yet people aren't questioning Civil War. Why would iron man fight captain America? The double standards and hypocrisy
Because the theme behind Civil War is a single idea people can easily grasp, where as there are multiple Batman V Superman fights that are random comic book absurdity at its finests. From Superman works for the government and told to stop a 50 man to Poision Ivy intoxicates Superman because we can't think of a good reason why would Batman fight Superman. No one knows how this false god storyline will draw Batman into a fight with an invincible alien yet, but since there's no single fight to draw from it's hard to picture what reason they will come up with this early.

You people seriously think Snyder and co didn't come up with a reason why Superman and Batman are going head-to-head without Superman punching Batman into the stratosphere?

Come on now, just enjoy the ride and wait for things to unravel.

Regardless of whether or not the blunt force trauma damages Bruce the pure kinectic energy will liquefy his brains from the sudden G-Force of being punched by Superman.

This is what I hate most about comics/super heroes.
Sure, I'll suspend my belief that there's a man in a powered suit because...well because.

But to then make the human inside that suit survive the unbelievable,it just ruins it for me.
A human needs to be just like a human, no matter who you are under all that tech.

Then people say supes is holding back, I get that.
What I don't get is how holding back also means being vunerable to batman.
I mean realistically he should be able to just stand there and laugh, no matter how strong that man made suit is.

There has to be other factors at play I hope otherwise it's going to be shit :/

No he just put them there apparently to fight for no reason in the movie. He is also apparently doing something which obviously has not been done in comics before so people have to come in with faux concerns /s

I found a reason in MoS itself. Basically, the planet is at the mercy of Superman. If it was in the real world, I would want that alien stopped.

People acting like Batman is fighting Superman the first time in History.

The worry is not that there's a lack of a reason, it's that the reason will be dumb, like practically all of Superman and Batman's fights against each other have been in previous renditions of that silly occurrence.

With the choreographer talking shit about TDK trilogies' fight scenes there must be a hand-to-hand confrontation between Supes and Batman, for whatever reasons they can muster.

Who else will he show off too? Lex? Street thugs? Maybe Superman SWAT?

He's going to karate the fuck out of Superman. Drain him somehow and give him an humbling ultra combo.

Of course it's hard to picture. Yknow.. The reader just came out. Maybe wait till we hear more about the plot?

I..., I am agog.

Are you seriously suggesting that DOFP had some deep themes and tackled some serious issues?

That's..., bonkers.

All this talk about how Batman would take on Superman and now I'm wondering: how Batman is going to save the universe in the Justice League flick?

You can find photo leaks of
his grave
in this thread :/

That be partly what drove Bruce to this jaded state.

I want this to be true. Mostly so we can have a Jason Todd for Robin so we can get a Red Hood and Arsenal / Outlaws movie somewhere down the line. It'd help me get over that there's no Green Arrow movie in production :[

He could just spend the fight getting annoyed by Batman's weapons. Like sound weapons to mess with his hearing, blacking out the room or flooding it with light to mess with his vision, hitting him with some kind of crazy tazer weapon to stun him for a second, or similates the atmosphere of Zod's ship. A bunch of disorienting attack that ultimately fails to hurt him.Superman gets impressed with Batman's knowledge of him and his physiology, but ultimately Batman can't beat him. The audience sees Superman as a nice guy and Batman as the smartest guy in the world who can even making Superman bleed.

like i said before it would be cool if batman somehow set up a mild kryptonite field it would make sense for supermans powers to get watered down to a more human level

if its only at night that supermans powers get weaker it just feels inconsistent.. like they agree only to fight at night cause its fair that way lmao

this field would have to be large enough so that superman cant just head out far enough to headshot batman with laser vision

and even if batman use a gun to shoot supes with superman would dodge that shit like its nothing

jesus i hate superman and his OPness

OR batman used kryptonian materials to make his suit that gives him traits of a kryptonian, making supermans attacks not that bad

The choreographer on the movie via Loxley

“There’s a thought that Batman has no chance, that the other [Superman] will squash him like a bug. But when you see the movie, and how it all comes out, there’s a very intelligent explanation as to why they would have a firsthand confrontation though it seems to be totally to Batman’s disadvantage.”

They're driving home the fact theres a reasonable explanation why Batman has a chance

I find statements of "Superman is holding back" silly because at that point, why would Superman bother to engage with Batman at all? He is fast enough to completely subdue Batman, wrap a mile's length of metal railing around him and that would be that.

In fact if he doesn't want to fight, he could take bruce to his mansion in the blink of an eye.

They'll de-power Superman before they power Batman up to a competitive level. That creates more problems than it solves, such as "Don't fight Superman. Solve crime, all of it, before you do".

I'm expecting an explanation similar to DKR. Something big weakens Superman significantly before the battle, like how destroying the gravity well in Man of Steel drained him of his powers temporarily.

Ah Gail confirmed? Thought she was facing the wrath of WB ninjas still. Up until this point I only heard that as a rumor.

Ah I see now. Clever girl.

Just watched MoS again, he does bleed.

Batman is just concerned for his well being. Now he's going to carry band aids.

People keeping saying things like this, seem to forget that this isn't Mortal Kombat and Clark wouldn't want to kill him

So blasting Batman's face off with heat vision isn't an option

The problem is that Batman and Superman probably don't have a great relationship. They haven't known eachother for 10 years.

Superman breaking Batman's spine over his knee could be an appropriate response.

I'm hoping that Superman knows of and respects Batman (having been an urban legend), but that Batman doesn't give a shit about Superman.

I'm pretty sure Snyder said that killing Zod was the foundation for Superman's no-killing rule in the DCCU. He doesn't want to kill Batman
