OK. AM I STUCK?

I couldn't save Arianna from her house and I didn't kill Iosefka afte rkilling the Spider, only before it ----------- will I not be able to summon and beat the Moonpresence Boss now? I only have 2 of the required items goddamn T.T

HELP T.T

Seems like there's mixed thoughts on this. I might just take it up to 25 or something, but avoid going to somewhere like 40.

Its depends on your play style and I guess how good you are. I lvl'd mine up to about 30. I love it high. then again I wouldn't saw I'm that good. compared to these assholes beating the game without lvling?! :) I'm just jelly though.

It sounds like you're stuck. Just for absolute clarity, did you kill
the Wet Nurse
yet?

Eh, I know the bosses there. AB was kind of an anomaly, since I really didn't learn anything about him when I just tanked him in NG and turned him into a smuf in NG+.

Based on my latest clashes with everyones favourite Defiled bosses, it won't be quite as bad even with the cut on HP. Fuck
Ebrietas'
charge though. The width of that move is crazy.

I've gone through fetid/rotted/cursed depth 5 chalices with half health...and AB is still the boss that has given me the most trouble, by a relatively wide margin.

I fucking hate fighting these enemies, the only one that creep me out:

JWzW7fp.gif

GIF is very similar.

I actually like those guys...first time I ran into them I was very cautious and knew I would be in for a surprise...then he goes full on sprint and the fun began. Thing I hate most about them is half their attacks are stunted and they do a boatload of damage if you get hit by those...makes getting viscerial's risky, it is a one hit at half health if you time it wrong.

Yes of course. I have two of the needed items, one is that and the other one from that secret location. So I'm fucked up. Good :(

I'm honestly finding Headless Bloodletting Beast in Pthumeru Ihyll the hardest boss in the game. I beat both Watchdog and Amy in Defiled on my second attempt for each of them, but this motherfucker is repeatedly kicking my ass. Any tips? I'm using Ludwig's +10.

Hate to say it, but Ludwig's is probably a terrible choice for that fight. Too much stamina use (you need to be dodging around a lot), and it only has good multipliers on attacks you're never going to be able to use against the boss (fully-charged R2 and the follow-up). If you've got any other +10's, which is likely if you're that deep into Chalices, you might want to just trade off.

Aside from that, his first few phases are easy if you just remember one thing: when he starts loping toward you unlock the camera and run like fucking hell. His AI is obnoxious as shit, and he will literally just keep stomping toward you trying to belly-flop on you for quite a while, and is too fast to escape locked on. Other than that, you can hang out at range and try to bait him into doing the attack where he keels over and starts blood-fountaining, which is extremely punishable (at least with a longer, faster weapon, but you should at least be able to get one good hit on his lowered head with Ludwig's).

His last phase you really need to get in close, because his range and the number of follow-up attacks he can do at range is simply too much. That's why Ludwig's stamina usage really becomes a problem, because you need to be side-stepping constant attempts to belly-flop onto you while still maintaining your attack rate. At very close range his attacks don't change that much in the last phase, it's mostly if you're farther away that he suddenly becomes a huge problem.

Completed my first playthrough and got the platinum the game on Friday with around 90 hours on the clock. I said to myself, I'll take a break from the game so I can give Digimon and FF Type 0 HD sometime in the sun.

And yet here I am, ploughing through NG+. This game man, this game.

You can't fight

at this point

I used Ludwig without issues and it really helped. I also buff up my stamina. I find it to be one of the most important stats in the game.

Yes, it's amazing. The combat is so damn enjoyable. BB has become equal to DaS1 in my eyes.

Quick question regarding one of the last bosses.

I'm about to do W
et Nurse and want to know if that is the last one before the point of no return?

Last mandatory boss, you'll notice when you go back to the Hunter's Dream. However, point of no return is when you follow the doll's advice. You can still level up with her and revisit areas but once you do what she says, it's the end

Thanks for the help gaf -- just Platinumed my first Fromsoft game.

Hardest trophy was the one for defeating Y
harnam, Pthumerian Queen
-- due to having to get through the Defiled Chalice Dungeon first, thanks to those on gaf who helped me with that A
mydala
fight.

Now I'll wait patiently for the inevitable DLC while taking screenshots in The Orders new photomode.

I mean, of course you do, you're using Ludwig's. You can practically get by with 20 Endurance otherwise, but even with a 40 Endurance, a +20% rune and Hunter's rune, I still run out using that thing on a routine basis.

I love Ludwig's for killing normal enemies, especially in Chalice dungeons, but it's honestly pretty garbage on most bosses. You're better off using weapons that are either faster with lower stamina usage (for small bosses) or have better range, especially vertically (for large bosses). Either is honestly recommended for Bloodletting Beast.

I wouldn't recommend the Kirkhammer for it either, of course, for the same reasons. I'm not saying the boss is unbeatable with either, but if you're having problems? Well, using a better-suited weapon is probably the best place to start.

I use different weapons depending on the situation at hand, but for this boss in particular I used Ludwig and never had any stamina problems. Don't know what to tell you, but stamina is one thing that has never been an issue for me.

Man, this picture of Djura released before the game came out made me think there was a portable gatling gun. That's something I really hope they add with DLC; I want to rain bullets on my foes.

Okay where does everyone PvP? Looking for some good ole Hunter Fighters and I have no idea how to... Like the Sinister Bell only works if someone rings the Summoning Bell. How do I just invade people?

Best places are the Nightmare Frontier and the Nightmare of Mensis, since there are bell maidens in those two areas.

I hate how you can't re-spec in this game. I'd love to try out a Dex build, but I really don't know if i'd want to make another character.

Maybe try to erase any game data (not saves), then re-install the game minus any updates.

Then glitch up any builds you'd like to try out in different save slots, then patch up your game to play as normal.

That used to work on Dark Souls. I don't know if / how it will work with BB though as I haven't tried it myself.

Yeah, I always thought that he was hefting it over his shoulder. The way that shot is framed it really seems to indicate that. (His left arm hefting it with his right arm resting on the barrel.) But now that I've actually seen that location you can tell the gun is just mounted and that he's just using his gesture. :(

Why did you find stamina so important if you never ran out?

I found it important from the get-go because the stat governs all offensive and defensive action. Playing throughout I never had issues because it was always leveled as my character progressed. Therefore, I never had the problem of running out because early on I identified it as a limiting factor - just like in all Souls games.

Thanks for the advice, but I managed to scrape by using Ludwig's anyway and got the plat. Only took a total of 50 hours, which I'm pretty sure was the amount of time it took me to just finish NG in Dark Souls.

Did you do co-op or solo? I know that co-op makes this game (like any souls game) a joke to platinum.

That purple fog bullshit is messing me up, I get hit by a lunging attack from the clone, have no time to get up and get hit by another lunged attack by the original one.

Welcome to anime. I find that move to be inspired heavily, haha. I love it!

Guys are there any enemies that drop chunks? I tried to farm yesterday at the with 172 discovery and mostly got shards and some twin shards.

I'd love to upgrade some weapons at +9 before going into NG+. :(
Faster to run to NG+ Unseen Village and start looting, lol.

So turns out, Randam's (I think) theory about entering Forbidden Woods ending/glitching the Eileen sidequest may have been correct and is really what caused her not to appear with Henryk in my NG+.
The guide says if you enter Forbidden Woods before meeting Henryk at the Oedon Tomb, it ends her quest. What puzzles me is that the stupid Oedon lamp is still inactive despite that, up until you kill Rom, suggesting that some encounter is going on, but nope.

The guide is wrong though: the part about killing Amelia but before talking to the skull (lol, yeah right) is complete BS.

The only bosses I co-oped were L
ogarius
and E
brietas
. None of the Chalice Dungeon ones because it's ridiculously convoluted to do so.

For her, you gotta be aggressive. I just stayed behind her and attack nonstop. She didnt have a chance to use that purple fog.

That isn't accurate, at least in regards to physically entering the Forbidden Woods. On a separate character I did the infinite echoes trick with the caged dogs in the Forbidden Woods before completing Cathedral Ward or even talking to Eileen there, and I was able to do the Henryk encounter after talking to her outside of Oedon Chapel. Maybe the trigger to miss out on the encounter is beating a boss or something else.

The "purple fog" part of that fight is just a phase. You can get through it easily by just holding down the run button and moving around the arena. You don't even have to roll. When running, if you see the Wet Nurse (or clone) ahead or to the side, just turn. After about 30 seconds, the purple fog stops, and you can can resume the fight.

Best place to farm blood vials before fighting Rom? I only have a few left :(

Central Yharnam using this route will net you around 15-20 vials per run and only takes a few minutes killing all enemies on your way:
1. From CY lamp go left and into house
2. Run upstairs and out of house, take a left and kill the big guys and birds
3. Turn around and kill werewolves, go back down through the house the way you came
4. Go down steps to kill the two big guys, go down elevator
5. Cross bridge, kill big guy and shield dude
6. Go up stairs and kill two tall beasts, end at Father G lamp, repeat.

Not played this in a few weeks but when I booted it up today I'm met with "Game install incomplete. Cannot load save data" Anyone else had this?

Huh. Well then... I have no idea. I entered FW and got the clinic shortcut but didn't kill the Shadows. So... maybe killing BSB or Amelia?

I just did, took me 4 or so tries. Was aggressive, used fire paper and killed it
