Jared Leto will save us from bad comic book movie villains. Unfortunately I cant think of any other movie in the horizon that is starring a potentially decent villain. I also have little faith in Lex. Also Thanos looks hilariously bad. Marvels villains suck big time. Seriously DC should just loan some Batman villains for them.
What in the Hell? The villains are bad because the movies handle them poorly not because they're just shit.

I love Batman villains as much as the next guy but your post is just silly on that last note.

Yeah Oscar Isaac and likely joker (character should be fool proof at this point) will rock

Seriously though, very excited for that film. People getting hyped over Ultron, but DofP decimated the first Avengers, and Apocalypse could be even better with an even better cast joining again. Shit's gonna be huge.

But currently it felt like a better Spider-Man 3 (and I do mean a lot better).

Just felt like a devil may cry 2.

Yeah that's on a whole other level for me, followed by the dc stuff and civil war that year

I completely agree. Fox has been on a roll with the X-Men movies. Greatly enjoyed both of the last installments. Also, they had way more mature storytelling than many MCU films.

I don't think I've ever wanted to high-five you more.

We got Oscar Isaac as Apocalypse next year, bro.

Wow did not know that. But then again I thought Spader would nail it as Ultron but hearing these reactions makes me lose hope. In general MOS aside DC seems to pay more attention to its arguably better villains so I am holding out hope.

Where does he rank among the MCU villains, and how was Spader's performance? If you don't mind answering.

Spader is brilliant, the animators have also done a terrific job translating his performance. Regarding rankings I would say he's just slightly above the average MCU villain in my opinion. There is this solid foundation but he slips into the background too many times.

Faora was still awesome. As a character, strictly speaking, maybe not, but did she kick a whole lot of ass?!

Suicide Squad could potentially turn out well as well. Most excited for that movie.

Oh she was a total badass. Then again even most marvel villains are as well. Winter Soldier had an awesome badass as an Antagonist. The writing however leaves a lot to be desired in all these movies. I felt the same with Faora. Her character was not meaningfully developed in any way. I hope DC gives some attention to Lex in BVS.

So what it sounds like what you're saying/implying is Whedon cut too much from his first 3 hour 30 minute cut of the film and that the movie could have benefited from maybe 10 more minutes or so.

I'd be disappointed but I guess that's par for the course when the film is more about the team interacting than the actual threat they're facing. Maybe that's why Infinity War is 2 pieces.

Yep, would definitely have preferred that, though make that 10 minutes 20.

It's always been a bit weird how quickly people allow an impression of a film or game instantly change their expectations. Like some no-name blog posts a badly written review of a game that says "meh" and they're like "oh no! losing hype!" as though they were hanging on said blog's every word.

Seriously. Wait 11 hours and I should be back with the unbiased truthfact opinion you can all rely on.

Yeah that post is a bit much. Batman villains have been pretty bad in the bad Batman films. Zod wasn't all that either.

X-Men films have been the most consistent villain wise. I agree with the post saying that Apocalypse is in good hands, Singer has yet to make a bad X-Men film.

Going into a movie with low expectation is never a bad thing.

The film nails the team interacting with each other. That stuff is really good. But indeed the actual threat suffers because of it.

So you're saying I shouldn't trust Biogamer Girl?

Shame Ultron gets muddled in the mayhem, but I'm relieved to hear that he's great whenever he's on screen. Hope I enjoy him.

My expectations are about the same. But with the MCU films I usually get an idea of how they'll play out. Only surprises being IM3 and Cap 2.

Getting married May 1st, probably going with the new wife to see this immediately after the ceremony in our full wedding garb!

I find it really funny, but it comes with the territory of popcorn entertainment. Some people just have very fickle stances and a ton of outside factors seem to affect their opinions.

LOL Congrats.

Yeah, had a feeling there might be too much going on

I'm still so hyped, only 2 more days (Seeing it Friday with a friend)

How was the action overall? Curious as I really like how Cap was handled in WS and have been wondering if Whedon does his justice this time 'round.

Damn straight! Apocalypse will hopefully fuck shit up. Can't wait for that movie.

He's probably going to convert Wolverine to one of his horsemen and the X-men will have to kill him to coincide with his death in the comics and Hugh's tweat about it being his last performance.
