This is tag-worthy.

To return to the previous discussion, I agree that Quicksilver's death works in terms of the arc but I did feel immediately afterwards that it was slightly contrived in order to actually force him into harm's way.

I think it worked great and was legit a shocking moment the first time I saw the movie. However I can't help but be cynical and think the only reason they chose Pietro to die was because they didn't want to deal with having him and Fox's version running around for the next few years.

It just sucks cuz he is relatively unique compared to the other Avengers' powers and they could have done more with him in other movies.

Sorry for bumping this up but I recently watched the first Avengers movie again, then I watched Age of Ultron and, well, the first movie is vastly superior to the second one in pretty much every way I can think of. In Avengers 1 I loved the overall tone, it had humor but it was spaced out excellently over the whole of the movie. I loved the introductions of all the characters, they perfectly showcased everyone's personality and status. The overall pace is I feel spot-on, the cgi work is top notch, the villain is both menacing and fun and the finale with the awesome battle, the Avengers coming together as a team and Banner's "I'm always angry" fuck yeah moment... That movie blew my mind, it was everything my inner teenage comic book nerd could have hoped for.

Watching Age of Ultron solidified my feelings of crushing disappointment. So much potential was wasted, so many bad decisions, so many issues... What the hell happened? How can you go from the excellence of The Avengers to the mediocrity of Age of Ultron? After The Avengers Whedon was my hero, now I am really glad the Russo brothers took over. Please please please Marvel, don't mess up Infinity War.

No, but it has (as far as I remember):

- Wasp x Fury (Fury looks better than the one in the film)
- Captain America x Black Widow (or Maria Hill? I dunno)
- Spiderman (Venom suit style) x (I forgot)

and more (2 other scenes I think, one woman which was clothed completely in red? Wasn't Scarlet Witch I think)

This movie has Spiderman - Age of Ultron doesn't. Makes it already superior.

does Spidey shoot webs?

It didn't really make a ton of sense that Vision was fighting Thor in the first place, cutting it short was a wise decision.

Shame to lose the only non-ambiguous instance of him becoming intangible, tho.

I took it as instinctual reaction after having just been awakened. But that said, yeah, I don't see the justification for a more drawn out fight like this.

Hmmm its decent but I don't think the movie needed another fight scene between heroes.

The only character that needed more fight time was Ultron. I like the low-key birth scene we got.

Him phasing to avoid the shield was legit though.

I thought that fight scene was overkill, I'm glad it was cut from the final film.
Me too, this is one scene I don't mind that it was cut. I like the quieter way in which it transpired in the final cut.

The scene where he copies the cape is much better in the movie too, it was a crowd pleaser in my theater.

I'm glad they cut this scene. Though it's unfortunate that the Thor cave seen were cut. And I must have missed or forgotten about Vision copying Thor's cape. I should rewatch the movie.

@ 2:10, he thanks Thor, then quietly observes him and copies it. Imo it's way more amusing and cool with it happening like this than mid-fight like in the deleted scene, and Paul Bettany's subtle expressions while Vision is considering the cape are gold.

They also cut what I think was Avengers Academy stuff. I remember set photos of the Avengers standing around a bunch of young people in uniforms at the New Avengers facility. That never made it into the movie, whatever that was.

Hoofa-that Vision scene was not good. The finalized version works much better.

I remember hearing this being filmed and there was a rumor Coulson was in the scene.

The final scene may have worked better but I think the showcase of his powers with more one on one action is something that is kind of muddled later on in the film. Plus it is pretty cool fighting.

Another thing in the final scene is that it's kind of weird that they went from Vision leaping at Thor as if to attack him and Thor throwing him, to Thor already knowing he's not a threat and signaling everyone to stand down. At least after they fought, it would be more obvious that Vision wasn't going to fight him the way he reacted to the view, but when the first thing he does is leap at Thor, I think they'd still be cautious that he is unpredictable.
