It is explained why they have powers but not why they specifically have those powers.

Lol, I saw the movie what did they say? I must've missed it. But yeah to my understanding they are inhuman based. Don't think I heard that mentioned, but then, my theatre was pretty loud.

Slightly dissapointed by the movie gotta be honest, just nothing surprised me it felt like someone just went over a checklist and decided that's it we did good! Final fight was just more cannon fodder. Just finished it then so might write something bigger later.

Hydra experimented with them. Presumably with the sceptre. They are "enchanced". They volunteered.

That's it, IIRC.

One thing that bugs me is that Falcon is in the movie... yet wasn't in the action. He wasn't even around during the "pull Thor's hammer" scene!

How much is Sam Wilson in this? (As a character.)

How much is Falcon in this? (In costume, doing stuff.)

Not much. Pretty much in costume just for the end.

Which makes me wonder why is he in the new Avengers. He has a suit that can fly, I'm sure SHIELD shits that on a regular basis. Oh well, knowing Captain America on a personal level doesn't hurt!

The movie is really all-out in its cast. It's impressive. I don't watch Agents of SHIELD, is the fumbling operator a character there?

They said they were Enhanced humans. And Tony and Bruce were discussing how Hydra used the scepter further than what hydra did by extracting the gem's powers. It's not explicitly said, but that's how tony got the idea to use it for ultron

Not much sam, he just drops by at the avengers party. He said he doesn't want to join the avengers because it's like the big leagues stuff. Also he's currently following leads of the winter soldier.

By the end though he is included in the new avengers.

Just came back from the movie...

It's ok. I wasn't blown away by it.

My issues:

- There are a lot of quips and jokes in this film. I don't mind these scenes where a serious
action piece is followed by a quip, but I felt Whedon went overboard with this.
- Some CGI was really rough looking.
- Music was unremarkable.
- Ultron was really mixed for me. I dig Spader voicing him but some of his dialogues were so bad. Ultron cracking jokes all the time felt off to me. Felt like some shitty Stark imitation.
- Movie is very dense with tons of action.

- The creation of Ultron was really fast and could have used a lot more development. Why would Stark, who is a technological genius, just use alien tech without examining it first carefully? I thought this was very out of character.
- I will probably be alone in this but I thought Vision looked ridiculous. The golden part of his armor looks like some shitty cosplay. He had a few cool seconds of action though.
- Vision wielding Thor's hammer definitely was a wrong move. Should've saved that for Cap and Thanos.
- Thanos mid-credit scene was ridiculous. He looked so silly.

Well he was created by Stark so this kind of fits.

Stark thinking he could fix anything and do anything can explain why he would jump right in to the tech.

Just finished.

The plot is not as good as the first one, but is ok. Action is good, although a little bit too much. Best part is hulk vs ironman IMO.
Too little of vision, and I didn't get it
why he gets knocked out when he tries to do something to ultron.
Is quicksilver really dead? Didn't see him in the last scene.

Yeah I got all that, but I didn't think they really explained how they got their powers, which a friend told me something about agents of shield
inhumans and terragen mist
or something. I dunno. None of that is in the movie.

its like you took the words right out of my mouth. exact same issues and scoring. haha!

i also hated how they defeated the big bad. With Avengers, Loki was stopped jokingly with Hulk doing that stupid finisher. Now the same happened with Ultron. I always felt like these villains deserved a good death.

I thought Stark had not much to do with creating him? Ultron immediately had an attitude when he came alive. He was extracted from the gem from Loki's sceptre as an alien code which was capable of self-learning and thinking. And then he started analysing all the information and data on Stark and the internet worldwide. I would assume he would be so much more different. More serious and menacing.

Didn't scarlet witch finish ultron? And TECHNICALLY, vision really finished him.

Just got home from the movie.
Some thoughts from the movie.
-Finale was kinda underwhelming, it ended to fast imo.
-Idk well Ultron's personality in the comics, but I kinda like him in the movie
-Wish pietro did not die
-Wanda's new look is hot
-New avengers roster is kinda eh.
-Vision was cool.
Will add more when I use my pc.

They also talked about how ultron a penchant for breaking and wanting to fix things or something like that to which Vision said "where do you think he got that from?" Implying there was some of stark in ultron.

Enjoyed this so much. I thought it was better than the first. So many cast appearances from othet MCU movies that surprised me. Killing Quicksilver still hurts though, I really liked him.

Oh and Vision. I fucking loved Vision.

And Ultron is too weak.
Seriously, even Cap alone can beat him, wtf. Ultron's minion killed shehulk with one hit in the comics...And in the movie Cap gets shot by him multiple times without scratch?! The only dead guy Pietro is shot by the bullets of the jet, not Ultron's beam.

Tony saw in the vision Wanda gave him that the avengers were all dead because he couldn't do anything to save them. So he worked his ass off creating ultron by using the alien tech because he was convinced that's the only way they can fight another alien invasion

I think Wanda also said the same thing when she was talking to cap.

True true, I guess my issue is that a robot which could absorb and learn all the information and knowledge available on the internet and other networks would be so different personality-wise.

That was such a weird scene. Him flying over the battlefield firing his gun like some videogame boss fight.

Just came back from it as well.

Enjoyed it quite a bit!

When I saw the Meteor / Land Mass beginning to fly, I really thought that's how they were going to throw Hulk into space. Just allows himself to stay on the rock, and the rock would just float off into space, and avoiding the calamity with earth. Didn't think they'd just explode it, and Hulk go into hiding.

I felt the creation part of Ultron was a bit rushed. I wasn't sure if Stark and Banner were creating a NEW thinking robot themselves, or if they simply cracked into the "mind" of the Gem, or at least whatever the consiousness they could see was.

HawkDad was an interesting twist on the character. Didn't really enjoy the Rominov / Banner love stuff. I wish that stuff'd stay out of Avengers. You don't date in-work, people! I'm glad at least that they're not building up Black Widow to do some triple cross shenanigans, at least.

Enjoyed that War Machine got a bit of a spotlight at the end there!

Ultron is is much closer to Stark than he wanted to admit, he did throw a Tantrum when Ulysses said "you're one of Stark's".

Still didn't like how they handled Stark's development. Ultron was created because of him meddling with things he don't understand, yet he simply did it again for Vision.

Why do people spoiler tag in a spoiler thread?

I thought the long stare at the BeatsTM headphones Banner has was better.

No, the adidas bit was actually a reference to how much the brand is loved in eastern europe.

Best bit of the movie was Pietro picking up the very prominent adidas sneakers when they were gearing up for the finale.

There was a lot of obvious product placement.

Audi cars. Samsung phone? Was Banner using Beats by Dre? Probably forgetting a bunch.

There was a lot of product placement that I found grating , the samsung ones mainly, but the adidas was hilarious. The rest of the team is getting weapons, protective clothing etc, and pietro grabs a pair of adidas sneakers. Gotta look great on his big day, right?

Anybody remember what Thor said about Jane?

Being busy going between countries, being the worlds authority on those portals, getting a nobel prize.

well you're right with both i guess. but when I mean Ultron, I mean the big BIG Ultron. Ultra Prime is it? It was Hulk who kinda took him out. Scarlet Witch did the final blow.

But yeah, how Hulk took him out annoyed me. It was done humorously AGAIN

well his power is that he runs real fast, how else do you expect him to gear up.

Oh, I thought he was implying that she's been very busy that they had to break up. Now I realized they're still together and she will still appear in ragnarok

Stark is easily blinded by possibilities and guilt. Like Scarlett Witch said: "He'll do anything to make things right."

That being said, Stark basically described it as an 'everything or nothing' situation where they couldn't beat Ultron without a technologically equal opponent. (Jarvis being the base of Vision's code added a sentimental factor that may have clouded his judgement a bit as well though.)

So what's gonna happen to bannner?
I really though he would be sent to space when he was alone at the jet.
Most likely he'll try to get as far away from any civilisation as possible. He'll probably come out of hiding during Infinity War, realising he's needed.

That being said, I fully expected him to shoot himself into space as well.
