So I'm still plugging along. Not very far in. You know that
gunner on the roof
? Yeah, well he's an asshole. Last night I finally figured out that
I can just shoot him until he falls of the roof
after about 10 attempts. That's right. Fuck that guy.

Finished the game!

Killed M
ergo's Wet Nurse
and E
brietas
on my first try but G
ehrman
was destroying me for two days. Man that was one hell of a boss fight.

The game is a masterpiece. Definitely among my favorite games of all time. And this is coming from a guy who played Dark Souls 1 & 2 for like 2 hours combined.

Gonna take a break from the game and come back later for Platinum (which would be my first Platinum ever).

So I may or may not have come across 2.5mil Blood Echoes.

After getting the soft cap on vit, dex, strength and skill, what do you guys suggest I spend the rest of my skill points on?

Should I level up bloodtinge and arcane or level some of the above stats some more?

Bloodtinge is god if you want to use Evelyn and/or Chikage. Arkane is mostly useless but can be fun if you want to go on leveling and experiment a little.

Earlier on in the game, I sent the dude that was eating people in the Forbidden Woods to Oedon Chapel. I think he killed Arianna cuz I have her shoes and she stopped showing up a long while back. Does that mean, the whole thing thing with her and
the baby after I beat Micolash will not happen? I'm really in need of that umbilical cord.

you screwed

pretty sure it hinges on her being alive at the end of the game

Damn, there goes my shot on getting all 3 endings on 1 play through.

You can still get one from
the fake Losefka. As long as, you didn't make her hostile or killed her. At the end of the game, if she's laying on the operating table, kill her and you will get a cord. The other 2 you can find for 3/4 needed.

Yep... Killed her already too. Smh

late chalice spoiler

There's also a room in a depth 5 chalice with 2 maidens who summon red spiders non stop.
Should be fun as well hehe.
Literally the worst level since the hallway is is tight and there's two werewolves protecting her. There is a hole in the floor in the adjacent hallway so that's useful but it still sucks. I hate maidens in chalice dungeons.

that weirdo on roof? you send him to clinic or chappel?

When I first ran into him, I only had the choice for the Oedon Chapel. I guess I didn't open up the clinic shortcut yet. So, I sent him to the chapel. He was there, I seen him. I should have killed him off. I know he
transforms into a beast though.

I did that last night
There was one before that too in a bonus room that had a werewolf in there just to make things even worse.

Had over 300000 echoes just doing that layer. lol

Cannon nerf is fine IMO making it a one shot or 2 shot see as about right for damage you can pull with it.

Now I love my Ludwig sword but the way that staggers enemies needs be nerfed even though it my main weapon

You can befriend him. :-)

Yeah that layer is insane.
You want a chalenge, i'll give a you a challenge!

Woot. Beat defiled chalice last night. Doggy took me 4-5 tries, Amy took 5-6. Amy really pissed me off. I got her to phase 2 on my 2nd try and she super ranged mega fly swatted me from across her room. I was 141 when I did it with 800 hp. I could have done it with less. Its quite easy to bait both into attacks, then just smack their head and back out. It takes a while, but its pretty safe and easy.

For Amy,
once she got into phase 2, I hung out on her left side between her knee and nearest arm. She would keep jumping to reposition. When she did, I rolled away, turned around, ran back and slapper her arm once or twice. She just kept jumping, so I just kept rolling away, running in, getting a hit or two.

I got way more pissed off at the 2 dogs and hunter bitch after the fire dog. Those 2 dogs can suck the hairiest part of my taint.

Beat
martyr logarius
on one attempt. Again. After my save was corrupted. It's funny how different play styles make some bosses really simple and others trivial. I've heard about how difficult he was supposed to be, but I had no problem parrying him constantly. I have a lot more trouble on the larger bosses with lots of range.

I think
cainhurst castle
is my favorite area in the game so far. It's small and there's not a lot of enemy diversity, but the atmosphere is incredible. It could have easily come right out of dark souls.

I head about the shaman bone trick but haven't tested it yet. You get the mobs to kill her and they themselves die.

That sounds tasty!

I hate nerfs. Make the enemies tougher, not weaken the weapons.

OT title is....whatever. There are so many, I'm all for changing it later if we can all agree on a great one.

"Reeks of Miyzaki" or something.

Fuck i shoulda used that
"Bloodbourne's circus of horrors: P.T. Yharnam" has been going round my head for a while.

Got this a month back but only just giving it a proper go with the latest patch. I think this threads going to be useful..

Finished the game. What a ride! One of the best games of all time. I jumped back in, used the final boss points to buy a bunch of sweet, expensive gear, and now I'm focusing on MP and Chalices.

Looking forward to interacting with other players without the drive to finish the game setting my priorities. I summoned a player in Central Yarnham and we went all over and ended up killing Father G. I already messed up the little girl quest and the Eileen quest but it didn't matter. Rolling through a whole level with another hunter was awesome. That's how I'll progress my second time.

Fire, Bloodbullets, fire, Bloodbullets,...gets you four shots.
With two runes that enhance your Bullet ammount you can even get five.

Jeepers, you know what?

I have literally never used blood bullets and totally forgot about that mechanic :P

Time to get my canon on Hunters!!

Lol cant wait until you get to Nightmare of Mensis if you haven't already.
That'll test your arachnophobia.

I seriously closed my eyes and had my friend tell me when to swing during that part. Cheesed every enemy using the terrain and the whip to try to keep as much distance as possible.

I had to Bold Hunter's Mark out and do it again because I ran out of blood vials for the fight after. ><

Also yeah, close-ups of Rom's face were terrifying.

OK, total noob experience here. This is my first 'Souls'' game and I find it somewhat difficult, and to be perfectly honest, kind of unpolished and not that interesting to me (for now anyway). I wouldn't call the game frustrating by any means, it's difficult but fair - I could tell that every time I died I could have avoided it, had I been more skillful. The one disappointing thing about the game to me is that the checkpoints seem incredibly scarce, which seems backwards for a game with this level of difficulty (and with load times this lengthy). Maybe I'm just bad at spotting checkpoint lamps? Here's what I've done so far:

Lit the very first checkpoint lamp in the game. Since then, I've died about 10 times until I've managed to kill all the enemies on the way to the upper area where you eventually can reach that long bridge with two larger wolf monsters (I think that's the spot you find those wolves for the first time in the game?). I've only reached those wolf monsters once, and unsurprisingly, they've killed me pretty quickly. It took me about 10-15 minutes to reach there, and I've looked pretty carefully all the way there for another lamp, but no luck. Now that the game teleports me back to a spot 10 minutes prior to where I was, I lost some enthusiasm for continuing. I guess I could try to just run all the way over there next, avoiding fighting as much as I can, as that seems very doable, but then I won't ever find any blood vials or other useful items. Have I missed a checkpoint lamp? First one was very obvious. Also, can someone tell me what am I supposed to be doing when I (seemingly randomly?) acquire blood echoes? I should be buying something in Hunters Dream with them? It looks like I lose the echoes when I die, correct? So should I buy stuff right as I acquire them?

My biggest problem with the game I guess is that it's not really grabbing me as much as I hoped. I don't mind very difficult games - I could die a thousand times in Resogun and yearn for another go, but this game feels somewhat like an unrewarding chore right now.

Well, I managed to get the Beast Claw asap after killing the required bosses and am now enjoying ripping things to shreds.

Holy shit Ailing Loran with only a low level Saw Cleaver was hard. Standard mobs took like 10 hits to kill :lol

You didn't miss a lamp, the lamps are pretty scarce. Shortcuts work as checkpoints in this game. You should have already unlocked one at this point, if you didn't, explore a bit more. Blood echoes are used to buy weapons/armor/çonsumeables and or to level up (which you will unlock later).
Good luck, I'll hope it will click for you!

Sounds to me like you haven't found the very first shortcut yet. ;) There are not that many lamps in the game. 2 at the most in an area and only 1 alot of the time. That is one of the major parts that makes this game so difficult. When you do find that first shortcut, you will feel that feeling of reward you are looking for, believe me! I would suggest to keep fighting through that area collecting echoes and leveling up as much as possible. That will also get you more skills you need for later on. You will eventually find the shortcut and sooner or later, everything will click.

**Edit** I forgot to mention, that first area (Central Yarnham) was one of the toughest for me as well as I was completely new to the souls series. I died countless times trying to get to those werewolves. After a while, I just figured it out. A big tip is to lure enemies out 1 by 1 or 2 at the most. Use pebbles, your gun, get enemies attention, and run away, whatever you gotta do.

this is basically how my first few hours with the game went. stick with it. look for shortcuts to unlock, they remain even after death.

Loran Darkbeast
is no joke. Kind of didn't strategize during SP so had to develop a better strategy this time around. Wasn't that tough once I figured out how to defeat his stage 2. Which basically means keep your distance, roll in, leg swipes, roll out. GG. But his leap attack has fucked up hit boxes. I got more then a few high damage or deaths, way outside his body. Typically soul games gif stuff. Pretty frustrating.

Beat him on 0 vials with 20% health though cause I was lazy and didn't want to go farm. Had him below 5% and he did leap strike. I dodged inside and was like, this is the end. Fucking whiffed on both chain attacks with the cane. Haha. Luckily I was able to roll out, run to a distance, repeat the attack/dodge pattern, and got the two hits. Shadow of Yharnam was my only fight that came closer to the edge of death. I had a sliver of health, no vials, one of the shadows left (the annoying long limb one). He charged, I hit a last hope parry, and the rest is history.
