Loran Darkbeast
is no joke. Kind of didn't strategize during SP so had to develop a better strategy this time around. Wasn't that tough once I figured out how to defeat his stage 2. Which basically means keep your distance, roll in, leg swipes, roll out. GG. But his leap attack has fucked up hit boxes. I got more then a few high damage or deaths, way outside his body. Typically soul games gif stuff. Pretty frustrating.

Easily one of the most frustrating bosses in the game. The safest strat for me was to never keep my distance, alwas stay right in front of him so I could evade under his body. Then swing blindly without lock on because the camera would freak the fuck out, and haul ass behind him when he charges his AOE. The hitbox of this attack is quite awful because of how unclear it is, but then again most of his attacks are wonky as shit.

The camera is an absolute pain against the bigger bosses. Really soured me on the experience.

What does this mean... Phys. Up full hp +2.7%
Its an effect from a gemstone... Is this better than plus 12.7% blunt?

Your physical attack will increase by 2.7% if you're at full health.
If it's better depends on the fact if you're weapon deals blunt damage or not.

Well, I managed to get the Beast Claw asap after killing the required bosses and am now enjoying ripping things to shreds.

Holy shit Ailing Loran with only a low level Saw Cleaver was hard. Standard mobs took like 10 hits to kill :lol

I started it last night after finishing my first game. 105 Level character with a +10 Saw Cleaver. They took four or five hits but they drop thousands of BE each. Between the first lamp, discovering two side chambers and getting to the boss, I died twice but gained four levels!

So it really is a high level place. A place where even 100+ level characters can gain some quick levels.

Anyone part of the pillar club? My opinion is that if From give me pillars to abuse, I'll use them. Took out
Pthumerian Descendant
using pillar shenanigans.

Fucking hell... so I had 40k blood echoes...used a frenzied coldblood which brought them to 45k....then I used another one and my blood echoes snapped to 10k..

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

So that
Micolash
is a pretty weird dude. I've got some theories on what the fuck he's on about, but I'll wait until I finish the game off until I say anything.

Quick question about the ending.
I know there are three endings, I have all those cords and want to do all the endings without having to replay the entire game. How do I create different save files in Bloodborne, is that even possible?

Back up the save data before the final boss to the USB or PS+ cloud. After you finish one ending, download the old save and go for another ending.
Find 'Saved Data Management' in settings.

OK, total noob experience here. This is my first 'Souls'' game and I find it somewhat difficult, and to be perfectly honest, kind of unpolished and not that interesting to me (for now anyway). I wouldn't call the game frustrating by any means, it's difficult but fair - I could tell that every time I died I could have avoided it, had I been more skillful. The one disappointing thing about the game to me is that the checkpoints seem incredibly scarce, which seems backwards for a game with this level of difficulty (and with load times this lengthy). Maybe I'm just bad at spotting checkpoint lamps? Here's what I've done so far:

Lit the very first checkpoint lamp in the game. Since then, I've died about 10 times until I've managed to kill all the enemies on the way to the upper area where you eventually can reach that long bridge with two larger wolf monsters (I think that's the spot you find those wolves for the first time in the game?). I've only reached those wolf monsters once, and unsurprisingly, they've killed me pretty quickly. It took me about 10-15 minutes to reach there, and I've looked pretty carefully all the way there for another lamp, but no luck. Now that the game teleports me back to a spot 10 minutes prior to where I was, I lost some enthusiasm for continuing. I guess I could try to just run all the way over there next, avoiding fighting as much as I can, as that seems very doable, but then I won't ever find any blood vials or other useful items. Have I missed a checkpoint lamp? First one was very obvious. Also, can someone tell me what am I supposed to be doing when I (seemingly randomly?) acquire blood echoes? I should be buying something in Hunters Dream with them? It looks like I lose the echoes when I die, correct? So should I buy stuff right as I acquire them?

My biggest problem with the game I guess is that it's not really grabbing me as much as I hoped. I don't mind very difficult games - I could die a thousand times in Resogun and yearn for another go, but this game feels somewhat like an unrewarding chore right now.

Look properly after the bonfire area before you get to the bridge. There is a fairly obvious short cut that you are missing.

Also, this game is massively rewarding but you have to give it time. You can't really judge the game until you've beaten 3-4 bosses. You've yet to face the first one.

I took out Father G circling around one set of tree/tomb stones over and over again.
I think I did that for a good chunk of the fight. I also got BSB to pillar camp. In Chalice though, had to beat him straight up, which was fun actually.

EDIT:
Pthumerian Descendant
though is super pillar nerfed. Joke.

Abhorrent Beast
in the chalice is a pain in the ass. managed to kick his ass in my 5th try.
Almost lost because I was trying to shoot my canon to finish him off but I didn't have enough bullets because of the nerf!!! and I was like a hit away from death!!!
Thankfully I got away far enough to heal and use blood bullets but it was too close for comfort.

Just got into
Nightmare of Mensis...fucking arachnophobia kicking in!
, how far am I to the end of the game?

You're close. If you want do stuff before being forced into NG+, don't
go through the gate that opens in the dream when the workshop is on fire
.

The morning the patch comes out I finished the last chalice boss on my first try and beat the last boss got my Platinum trophy!!!!

Any tips for the Abhorrent Beast ? I did some good try but can't manage to beat it...

His moves are actually quite easy to dodge.

1) usually do not dodge backward. His reach can still hit you.
2) Dodge to his right side (you dodge left) when he raises his hand. You go right under him.
3) poison dagger can do somewhat ok damage.
4) fire paper is your friend.

Like others have already said, there are shortcuts to open in every area, they will help you immensely and are always worthwhile to find. The one you are looking for:
There is that locked gate next to the Central Yharnam lamp. You can open it from the other side... if you find the two story house connected to the bridge with the 2 werewolves you are close. I would recommend running by the werewolves for now, or just avoiding that spot entirely
.

As far as spending your blood echoes you will want to use them to level up, that will help a lot! To do that though you first need
at least 1 insight. You get insight when you find bosses, defeat bosses, or use items to gain insight (ex: Madmans Knowledge). You can find one in the sewers in the area you are at.

Basically think of the levels like this:

As you explore, try to find alternate paths and they'll serve as ways to get farther and farther each time you venture out.

Can we all agree that the hitbox on
Ebrietas' charge move
is objectively stupid? Dare I say bordering on unfair? I don't care how easy you think the overall fight is, (she's not that bad IMO) I don't think this attack really adds to the challenge. There's nothing quite as deflating than seeing an attack, knowing what you need to do, learning how to avoid it and yet still getting over 60% of your life taken away anyway.

Not sure why my experience with
Ebrietas
was so different... I purposely waited for her
charge (while keeping at range), dodged it and then went in for the attack since she wouldn't do anything for a bit after the charge
. Maybe its bad if you stay close, I'm not sure?

whoa fuck that. I hope your hallucinating :) if you unlocked lecture hall floor 1 go there maybe you'll get lucky. I've randomly collected echos from there many times. one time I got back 57,000 I lost ages before that. very weird I know. I just lost 260,000 last night maybe I'll get lucky too.
