Damn the team and costumes look great. Happy to see them throwing the red onto Falcon.

Wait... that's a new War Machine armour too. In the film he was sleek like the Iron Patriot armour but he has his shoulder pads back. Awesome.
The armor is the same. Just a different paint job.

I think this movie suffered from the "put the best bits in the trailer" syndrome

I really didnt like the vision, he was just a plot point to stop ultrons connection to the internet.. he did barely anything despite being bloody superman.
To expand this
Ultron spend the movie making fun of avengers going after his main body... so whats the visions role? spend 80% of last part of the movie wrestling the main body of ultron.. its sad.. so sad

Hawk eye had so much scene time, yet we got half assed thor scenes that made no sense

So everyone in the new team can fly except Cap? :p

Are falcon and war machine even in the movie besides that last shot?

War Machine takes part in the big showdown at the end, and they're both in the party scene before Ultron shows up for the first time...obviously not in costume or anything though - Rhodey telling stories, that's one small comedic element I thought worked well, Cheadle's great with adding a bit of humour to everything.

Got to say that even though I did enjoy this quite a lot I'm not that cut up about it being Whedons last. I'm hoping that with the Russo's on board for Infinity that there will be less humor. Was thinking about this while I was at work but I really don't like how smartass Ultron was and the way that Strucker was portrayed was shitty. I was just as hyped for his inclusion to the MCU as I was Wanda and Pietro and they turned him into Bob Agent of Hydra.

Can we talk about the stuff that was in the trailer but not in the movie? I feel like this movie gutted alot of stuff referencing Black Phanther.

Most likely in Infinity War there will be the Guardians of the Galaxy too so you'll be disappointed, I guess

Wat was in the trailers about Black Panther that did not make it in the movie?

I enjoyed this. Nice entertaining romp.

Spader as Ultron was the highlight!

Like a chump I sat until the end waiting for a post post credits scene, but there wasn't one.

There was a scene in the trailer where an african looking girl taking off her robe at the place where Thor got his vision.

It was totally unrelated to wakanda though. It was some pool from norse legends that thor used to further explore his vision go get insight about the mind gem

What's the name of the classical piece played during the end of the beginning segment, the one Banner's listening on the headphones?

I dunno if they play Thanos as straight faced as Ronan I don't think I'll have many issues. I'm just getting tired of the witty remarks coming from all fronts, it's tiring.

Funniest thing is war machine is there when ultron first shows himself, I assume they use the excuse hes injured to make him never show up again til the final battle... which is funny since they have a magic healing machine.

Surprised by how quickly he went from a hobbling, shell of a machine to his almost final form.

Not only that but i expected him to be the culmination of a long term project Tony had been working on, not an impulsive little idea that went from inspiration to fruition in a single evening.

As an Avengers film, this is light-years ahead of the first one. The team dynamic in and off action is perfect, even with the increased cast. Vision is especially great.

As Age of Ultron, it is underwhelming. This didn't bother me at all, for I always thought Ultron was dumb anyway, but it will disappoint all those who were expecting something out of it. I couldn't care less about Quicksilver dying, but Ultron flying that jet was a real wtf am I looking at moment.

I thought the first film was funnier, but all the jokes fall flat on a second viewing. I feel like, therefore, Age of Ultron will be more worthy of a second viewing, if even only so I can pay more attention to all the team-up action scenes.

Almost forgot, worst credits scene ever.

I really like the new Avengers team, so it's like:

Generation 1 Avengers:
Iron Man
Thor
Hulk
Black Widow
Captain America
Hawkeye

Generation 2 Avengers:
War Machine
Falcon
Captain America
Black Widow
Scarlet Witch
The Vision

and soon added to the MCU will be Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Antman, The Inhumans and Spiderman. Not to mention The Defenders.

Who does everyone think will actual become an Avenger then? I'd say that the only ones I am certain about are Captain Marvel and Spiderman.

Witch and Widow.
I also think the new team is more powerful than old one.
I don't remember her flying =/ in the movie

Scarlet Witch fly's in during the New Avengers roll call.

Not only that but i expected him to be the culmination of a long term project Tony had been working on, not an impulsive little idea that went from inspiration to fruition in a single evening.

Yeah i was actually quite disappointed by Ultron, or maybe i just had too much hype and expected alot more from the movie after watching the trailers.

It seemed like a quick build, and after that Ultron himself didnt seem all that menacing.
He talked tough, but didnt really do much until he was in the jet and killed/injured QuickSilver.
Heck Cap was holding his own against Ultron Prime.....Thor would have made mincemeat of Prime Ultron.

Also, why was it that Ultrons Vibranium Armor got decked so easily....isnt MCU Vibranium similar to 616 Vibranium?

Nonetheless, beyond Ultron not being as menacing as i would have liked, the movie was pretty good.
Hulk exiling himself was actually pretty damn cool...i was wondering how they were gonna NOT have hulk in Civil War considering Banner and Stark are in such a Bromance in the MCU.

I had similar feelings.

Ultron was set up in the trailers and on his debut to "evolve", but after the first iteration he just got... bigger I guess?

I would have liked to have seen a more gradual progression that became more "detailed", nuanced, and maybe bulky/fleshed out as the movie went on. You could have kept the overarching design cues so that people wouldn't get confused.

I also found the flex in his face odd and distracting, and worked against the idea of him being made of tough metal. And I didn't like how the character made jokes and one liners, almost like they were trying to hard to make it human like (though I'm not familiar with other iterations of the character). Definitely nerfed the menace between those two things.

Just saw it. Loved it. Can't really say any more right now as I don't feel critic at all, I just enjoyed it, from the opening scene to the credits, pure fun. Would watch again soon. Also, came back from the movie with some goodies

Ant-Man for sure, he's one of the classic names going with the Avengers.
I also believe all of the people who'll get their solo movies are gonna be Avengers as well. I'm thinking they might rotate out Cap and Widow after Civil War, and give the leadership to someone else (probably War Machine or Falcon).

Wait, people saying that Avenger 2.0 is better then 1.0? If we only go by the movie I would say no... no Thor, no Hulk...

EDIT: Will Gaurdians of the Galaxy be included as well in the next Avengers movie you think? Since Thanos was a main main villan in that movie.

I wouldn't say 2 was better than 1. I remember having a better time watching 1.

Also GotG has to be a lock for the next Avengers whether they're in both parts or just part 2.

I ment as a team which team is more competent so to say.

Hmmm Falcon is probably equivalent to Hawkeye in terms of usefulness and power.
War Machine is just Iron Man.
Vision with one of the infinity gems is equal to one of Thor or Hulk.
So that leaves Scarlet Witch and whether you consider her magic powers make up for the last Hulk/Thor spot.

I think I'll enjoy AoU more if I accept it for what it is.
Ultron and drones really should've been a major global threat and there should've been a large rift within the Avengers. Ultron wiping out an entire city, while the Avengers fight each other? Yes please! Without those, there just wasn't a sense of hopelessness. I really wished, that Ultron would raise the stakes.. lots of people dying, Cap losing his shield. Quicksilver dying just didn't cut it. I hope he won't be revived by TAHITI shenanigans.
Instead, Whedon went for different beats and weird sidestories... So yes, maybe this film will be better on a rewatch.

Yeah, I was disappointed. My friends were largely not.
Felt a bit all over the place, and Ultron stopped being creepy quickly, which is a shame.

Half the quips landed very well, half did not.

She's seen flying in the end.

I can see why men have been praising the new look for the past couple of days. I'm pretty sure her face is CG'd there LMAO. I immediately got that Uncanny Valley feeling.

Joss Whedon said:
The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots. Joss said, ‘We’ll cast her later!’ And I said, ‘Yeah Joss, we’ll cast her later.’ [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn't Joss] ‘We’re not putting her in there!’

Finally Joss was like ‘Let’s use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?’ And that makes sense - she’s come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks.

After letting it simmer for a bit more the day after, I think the most tragic thing is that what the show did right, it did -so- right. The birth of the Vision, the interactions between Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, the way all the powers worked, the train scene where she stops it as Pietrov is moving everyone out of the way, lots of really inspired stuff. But they remain pieces. I'm honestly starting to already forget what it was all "about" other than Ultron trying to lift a city into the sky to drop it on Earth. :(
