I heard A Most Violent Year was pretty good.
It's.... not totally a gangster movie. It's a movie that skirts outside being a full gangster movie.
It's still great though. Isaac/Chastain are a great combo.

It's not about mob. But its a good movie. Although i really didn't like Chastain in it.I heard A Most Violent Year was pretty good.
Funny how ?Which goodfellas scene?
In a mundane subject , he's using his position to intimidate the other interlocutor . Not just structure.I guess he's referring to the "Do I seem funny to you?" scene but aside from the conversation's structure it's not actually the same scene in intent or purpose.
Really, when's the last time we actually got a good one? I don't even know. American Gangster?
Whoa Deep not playing some wacky character? Color me interested. Pretty intense trailer.
Original Guy
It's fascinating that Depp is know mostly as "the weirdo in makeup" these days. I first became aware of him from movies like Platoon, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Donnie Brasco, A Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. In other words, more "serious" roles.

Looks like we're gonna get a movie to double feature with Donnie Brasco.
Finally a companion piece to Donnie Brasco we all have been waiting for.
Really liked Depp in the trailer. I hope we see him take more roles like this.
I know Crazy Heart was well received, but never really heard much about Out of the Furnace. Anyone have opinions on the director Scott Cooper?
This year's departed me thinks
I liked The Departed. Despite it being one of those movies GAF decided to shit on after it was initially enjoyed.
I've been gaming too long when I first read that thread title as Black Mesa....
I'll be sure to skip this. That trailer, lol
Talk about a trailer trying to hard
I liked the trailer, but I don't think Depp is the best casting for this. He can try to be as menacing as he wants, it just comes over as being constipated, trying to fart and being scared about shitting your pants.
There are plenty of Hollywood actors who can pull off the psychopath killer face without even trying. They should have cast Gary Oldman in this instead.
Still, stoked to go and see this. I really liked Scott Cooper's (he's the director) Out of the Furnace for some unexplained reason.
