Do their eyes usually change colours like that?
I don't know how common it is, but it doesn't seem to be uncommon. My cat's eyes slowly turned from being completely blue to a solid brown color as he got older.

(Starting from a few weeks old, to a few months, and then finally a full year old.)

:D She's half King Charles Cavalier and half American Eskimo

Here's a few more

Adorable (but fat:p)

Looks like the silky soft cavalier ears have been retained in this mix, I love those flappy ears (though they are high maintenance, easily infected if you don't clean them out regularly)

edit: oooh even the long fur on the chest and paws is still there! and even the color pattern on top of the head

So is this a mix that retains the ears and gentle nature of the cavalier breed but without the crippling heart disease that kills off most of them before they turn ten? If so, awesome.
How badly does he/she shed?

@OP: cute cute cute CAT

LOL, she is fat. We very recently changed her food and cut back on servings once I realized how bad the food we had been giving her was (HFCS in dog food wtfff).

Her ears actually haven't been an issue at all. First I've heard of troubles with infections tbh. As far as heart disease, she's 9 1/2 now and while I don't think she's been screened specifically for heart problems recently, she's shown no signs of problems or slowing down or anything like that. I don't know if I'd describe her as "gentle" per se but she played well with my cousins new born last year when they visited. I think her temperament is closer to the Eskimo's, she's very energetic and playful and friendly. And yes, she sheds, a LOT. We don't brush her as much as we should, but sweeping the floors for dog hair is basically a daily chore. She does get quite a mane on her, and her paws can get out of control. A majority of the pics I've posted have been after groomings (hence the bows and bandanas) so it's not as evident as it normally is.

Thanks for the interest :)

When our family cat, Kiddood, was still only a few months old she decided to climb up onto my shoulder while I was using my laptop. Cue webcam photo of her as a kitten and me as a long-haired teenager :)

She's quite a bit bigger now, but still cute and fluffy. I've since moved out and left her with my mum and younger brother - I'll need to get them to send me a recent photo to share!

Freja - White, half-tailed Manx about 15 months old.

I don't want to tell you how to raise your pets, but my cat was 9 when he had to be put down last year, and he never even approached this sort of weight, and he was never underweight or overweight.

This size is quite alarming to me for a 15 month old cat. If I were you, I would look in to reducing his/her portion sizes and consulting a vet.
