Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

he did spend a few hours close to gargantua

John's age is affected by the same ambiguities as all beings who undergo extended voyages through space. Though he is chronologically 47 years old as of mid-2558, he has spent much of his life in cryosleep, particularly when he spent almost five years adrift aboard Forward Unto Dawn. Cellular activity is slowed to near standstill in cryosleep, effectively halting the aging process. As a result, John's biological age is significantly less than his age as measured by Terran chronology.

If he has really spent most of his life in cryosleep than he is technically under 23.5 years old.

so its like Metal Gear Solid V then...Big Boss is 40 yet goes into the 9 year coma...TPP he is not actually 49 but still 40?

There's a little bit of a difference between cryosleep and a coma. Cryosleep would essentially slow your body's functions down significantly so the aging process won't affect you over long periods where as a coma your body is still operating as it would though it may require the aid of some machines. You're essentially frozen in time with cryosleep, you're not in a coma.

Well because of how cryosleep works John is literally not aged to 47.

In fact all of blue team has been through cryosleep so none of them are technically 47.

In Interstellar when he came back they said Matthew Mcconaughey was like 130 but he didn't age a bit. Therefore I believe that is somehow is involved with the Halo Universe and that you would still say Master Chief is 47.

Well, sort of.
Cryosleep isn't like going into a coma, it's more like being temporarily dead. Your body stops functioning, period, until you're woken up. So time spent in cryo doesn't count on your biological clock. The Chief (and most other people who traveled in pre-Forerunner tech ships) are at least a little bit biologically younger than their years.

That said, stress is a hell of a thing. Chief's already gone grey.

oh ok so Big Boss is still aging in that coma, while Chief isn't in cyrosleep essentially

I was about to say, we'd be lucky to get one manual, lol.

I think they should have a little optional cinematic that provides a quick recap of the stories leading up to the game's events. I think a lot of people who didn't know about the book were confused by the places, characters, and events in 4. It'd help with reviews too, as there'd be less "idk wtf is happening lol" impressions if their only exposure was the mainline 1 - 4 (+ Reach?) games.

When Master Chief travels between battles he goes into cryosleep which stops the aging process.

Not like it matters, he's a super soldier.

Alright, it's just going to be some pictures, some info from wikis and myths/legends about why they are so legendary/epic. Nothing huge. Just concise and easy to skim through/read.

Blue team is seriously making me so giddy right now.

Two separate campaigns there final act unlocks after you compete both of them?

Cortana kisses a thought-dead Chief, and he's subsequently revived with the chaos emeralds. Then Super Chief and Super Locke join together to fight Chaos Didact.

Your funeral.

Tell me how it goes.

Anyway, a thought occurs: there are 4 Spartans in both teams.

There are 8 Sundays between now and E3.

How cool would it be if we got a little profile episode a week? Like, something Terminal-esque.

I'm on the 3rd mission on Halo 1 in the MCC series. My goal is to beat al 4 of the game before May 18. I'm sorry but Halo 1 seems a bit boring to me; I know I've been spoiled by having Halo 3 be my first Halo game--plus I've been playing other shooter games that makes me feel like I'm a beast. I feel like I'm already dying so much and having so little ammo in he gun fights I get into.

I hope this experience gets better, I just want to know the story for Halo 5.

git gud.

But seriously, what difficulty are you on? No shame in taking it down a notch for your first time through.

Nifty.

welp, changed my mind again, not doing it now

That was due to Relativity (A little science tidbit that Halo ignores entirely) not due to Cryo. In Intersteller Mcconaughey was only in Cryo for the 2 year trip to Saturn.

Nah man, Poodle is right. Best hope that most folk can google BLUE TEAM HALO without causing a mental breakdown and that 343 does a good job with their exposition and characterization.

Because, just like the Black Rule on TV, more than 2 Halo threads on Gaming side is simply too much. The 3rd will suffer. GREATLY.

Something everyone in this thread is forgetting about the Spartans ages is that this is 500 years in the future:
A: Medical Science has probably produced near miracles in the anti aging department
B: Nutritional Science has also presumably gone under massive leaps
C: The Spartans Augmentations are definitely playing a factor in how they age. No Spartan has died of Old age but if any did it would be a LONG time.

It's good but it doesn't fit Halo's musical identity, which was by that time extremely well established over five games.

They didnt have the same composer. Instead of retreading Marty's stuff, they did something new. I will take something new over and over again, over trying to repeat or mimic the past.
