I really don't think that any eye tech will change things. I personally find it to be too isolated for it to be a really popular trend (harder to have a case of "That looks cool/fun!" when people see someone using it in an advertisement). I'm also wondering about the cost as I'm expecting it to be pretty expensive.

PS4 will more than likely keep its huge lead due to it being part of the more popular gaming brand worldwide (a big reason why its predecessor caught up in worldwide sales to the 360) as you said -- unless MS can come up with some exclusive that's the next mainstream craze which I highly doubt.

To me it looks like Microsoft is developing Hololens first and foremost as a standalone device for multiple uses in consumers day to day life.
The gaming aspect is about as pronounced as the gaming aspect in smartphones and tablets and I can't see a connection to XboxOne so far and I don't know how and why Hololens would affect XboxOne sales.

Morpheus on the other seems to be about gaming first and foremost and its only working with a Ps4, so if the price is right and the games are good it could give Ps4 sales a boost.
 
Just saw this meltdown on a different site.

Its all a sham.

This gen has so far been dictated by media propaganda and agenda campaigns. These systems are to close in performance to have such a natural disparity.

Look at articles like the that have been around since before the consoles were even released claiming victory for Ps4 not even 2 years in to the cycle.... before these systems even started getting software that was actually created for them.

But I say the X1 still has a couple aces up there sleeve. Look at the fear in the media. If they felt the Ps4 has really won they would call off their dogs. They have a 2:1 lead in sales yet we still get kinect slander articles and constant resolution comparisons because they darn sure aint game comparisons since they dont focus on the 98% of the game that is identical. Features the X1 had since launch go ignored until Sony has them. If the war is really over sony can call off the troops.... but they wont. We have at least 100 million consumers to fight for. Thinking that an over lapping 30 mil (because some people own both) is enough to call the gen I would call you stupid. Yes Sony has a commanding lead but again these consoles havent even hit their stride. The core gamers are almost dried up. At this stage a 10 million lead can get erased with 2-3 blockbuster exclusives.

But in truth MS real problem is the media.... they need to protect and clean the gunk off of their consoles image. Their fight is really with the media not Sony.

But again this is all a sham. You dont need to sell the most to be successful or even provide the best experience. MS has strong enough position in gaming were they wont lose content and can still make money off of what they release and that all you really need.
