It was an interesting topic header, It's well known that the PS4 is ahead of the Xbox One and Wii U in world wide sales, It's also known by those that follow Monthly NPDs that the difference between the unit sales of the two companies [Sony & MS] in America is less that 1 Million.

I was hoping for an actual discussion regarding the quoted's perspective, to see what frame of view he was coming from and why he believes that the "Console War" is over.

Expecting an a "civil, evidence-based discussion" was definitely a hit a miss on this one. All I encountered was nothing but Gifs, PNGs & cirlce jerk.

Why does it only seem to be Xbox fans who come in commenting about why the thread is still going, and basically attempting to stealth mod?

A mod (Y2Kev) already commented in here - if he feels, or any other mods, that the thread has run it's course, then they will decide - not disgruntled users overflowing with salt.

This thread was just fun, and many users contributed some very funny gifs (Chris Metal) in particular, but somehow, it's being poisoned as usual.

That xbox founder isnt talking about just the US and the console war isnt about just the US. These companies are multinational companies, functioning in a highly (maybe even extremely) globalized market. No one cares about X amount of units sold in just one small segment of said market. The ps4 is more than 10 million ahead of the xbone. The ps4 has sold double the units the xbone has. There is no "but in the US" here. That xbot guy is just talking nonsense.

The FACT that this topic still exists in an unlocked state despite any recent discussion regarding the point of view of the quoted person in the original article definitely points to, at the very least, a breakdown in the moderation process.

It's possible that for the last two days it's just this circle jerk that has gone unnoticed, and that maybe in the future a different fanboy circle jerk will go unnoticed, but it does seem a bit strange that this one continues to be ongoing.

Why do you believe that people's reactions to an obviously stupid idea is a circle jerk?

I believe that it is only natural for people to openly mock terrible and/or stupid ideas when every piece of evidence disagrees with the aforementioned idea.

The person in question made an ill-conceived comment and is now being roasted for it. That he happened to be the Xbox's father doesn't change the fact that he said something stupid.

Yep, clearly PC fans are favored.

Realistically though, the tables were turned a few years ago, when Xbox was on top, then everyone dogged on the Wii as a casual machine and so forth and so forth. All in all modding has been very even-keeled, which is why this site is still around.

Anyone who follows SalesGaf would laugh at the notion that the sales are going to swing back in MS' favour based on past evidence, the only discussion you're going to find on the level you're looking for is NPD only.
