Casuals about to flee this sport in droves. It's for the best.

I've never been more excited for a sporting event, but let's be honest - it will be good for the sport to be out in front of this and have the proverbial monkey off of its back.
Casuals are usually what make businesses successful. The day most of the casuals leave boxing is the day when it is finally dead.
Got a table reserved at Hooters for the fight, seems like most of the sports bars in my area don't want to shell out the money for the fight when there's so many other sporting events going on tomorrow. I'm excited and will be pulling for Pacman but I'm a little disappointed by how underwhelming the undercards seem though.
A friend was quoted at $3500 for his business to have the fight even though occupancy is like 10 people. I don't even want to think about how much it'd cost a sports bar.

They'll flee just as fast if the decision is clearly bogus. This could be a massive fight for attracting new fans into boxing, and not just this one bout.

The bar I work at is paying around 5k.

Sucks for people like me who live in The Netherlands that there is no way to watch this stuff somewhere. Not even online afaik.
I guess we'll have to do with online commentary or something.

There will be plenty of streams out there. Just need to know where to look.....

My body is ready.

I would love for Pacquiao to win, but put down 1k on Pretty Boy.

It's been a long time since I've been this pumped for a boxing match.

Hopefully Pac somehow wins, but I doubt it at this point.

In a properly scored fight, I can't see Pac winning... However, I've said it before, there's so much money in a rematch, that I can see a dodgy decision.

As bad as it would be for the support and potential new boxing fans, I'd love to see Floyd get robbed, haha.

I read it's expected to be around 11:20 since there's only 2 fights before which surprised me.
Is this eastern time US? So if I would use a time converter I could convert from 11.20 pm New York?

What if the other fights end early, will it possibly start earlier?

Floyd has the greater legacy as of right now...i think most would agree on that

but you think if Floyd loses, then pac has the greater legacy. he would be remembered as the fighter of the generation and not Floyd?

It's close. Many would give Manny the edge for winning titles in 8 different weight divisions.

The winner of this edges the other one out, in my opinion. Both are incredible.

I would love to watch this, but I'm not paying $100 to watch it PPV and I'm not going to fight crowds at sports bars. Guess I'll just watch the highlights afterwards :(

I don't know about that, Floyd has the better record, but I think Manny has the better legacy up until now. When I think of legacy, I think of who will be remembered generations from now, and I think Manny's career up until this point has been more memorable. Hasn't ducked a soul, has fought anyone put in front of him and looks spectacular in doing so.

Floyd is the better boxing talent, but his diva attitude and the way he has crafted his career is not something I can imagine the old school greats ever doing. All the old school greats have losses on their record because they fought the best out there, multiple times. Pacquiao is in that category.

When Pacquiao beats Mayweather tonight, he instantly moves into a different stratosphere, especially with so many people picking against him. It's not a fight he's expected to win. People expect Mayweather to win this, so when he loses, it will be devastating to his legacy. People will understand why he has dodged this fight for so long, why he has been so quiet and somber throughout the buildup of the fight, why he has shown Pacquiao respect that he hasn't shown ANY other opponent, etc.

My birthday present is this fight. Locked and loaded and ready to go. My heart belongs to Pacquiao, but my brain goes for Mayweather. May the best man win.

Nobody but hardcore boxing fans will remember the relative nobodies that Floyd "ducked" years from now. If his career ended before this fight his record would stand the test of time.

Bingo

They're both too close to call depending on what you consider the more impressive feats (undefeated, 8 belts, opponents etc)

There is no doubting that whoever wins, gets cemented as numero uno (unless they lose a rematch...then we are back to square 1 haha)

I think win or lose Mayweather will have the biggest legacy. Nobody in boxing has done what he's done. He took boxing to a different level. He was P4P king for 10+ years. The next generation of boxers are going to try to top Mayweather's record, P4P length and sales/money.

He took his career out the hands of Top Rank and became the highest paid athlete in history. Crazy.

I disagree, but it's irrelevant at this point, debating what his legacy without a Pacquiao fight would be because it's going to happen. Once he loses to Pacquiao though, he'll still be remembered as great, but Pacquiao will be elevated to god-like status.

Oh boy. "When".

That confident huh?

No-one in boxing has done what Manny has done, either. Eight division champ, never dodged anyone, with unprecedented combination of power and speed for the weight.

Floyd will be remembered primarily be remembered for his 0. If Manny takes that, he's ahead of Floyd. Right now, as I said, there's next to nothing in it. I can understand arguments either way, but personally, I can't pick. They're both unbelievable talents that excel at different things.

Not a chance, especially losing against Pacquiao. He's fighting against the fighter that people have been clamoring for him to fight against for 5+ years, he's been using excuse after excuse to avoid it, and when it finally happens, he loses? Zero chance his legacy will be bigger than Pacquiao's after tonight. Zero.

I'm not even about to touch the ducking Pacman argument, but pretty much every single up and coming boxer wants a chance at Money. They all want to fight the P4P KING. They all pretty much have there own promotion company.

They are trying to emulate the fighter who got his first title at 98 and REMAINED at the top of the game #1 P4P for over a decade. I don't think any lost can erase that.

Mayweather has this fight tonight, just have my money ready ;)
