Turn 10 turns 10 with Forza Motorsport

Like what? Keep in mind this is a track racer.
Here are a couple:

Real racing rules.
Real simulation of fuel and tires.
Real pitstops.
Day and night
Weather changes.

Real damage systems with tire blowouts when driving over limits to long.

Drag racing like in real life.

Engine tuning like boost, afr, cam timing, name it like in real life.

More modifications like interieur, more real brands etc. Maybe even look at nfs there auto sculpt system And implement it but make sure it doenst go as ugly as nfs did.
Singleplayer coop team racing.

Maybe things like able to make lobbys with instead class limits or drive limits make things like money spend filters. So that you can do 5000 dollar cars races. Or weight limits races. and so on.

Maybe windtunnel tuning.

Being able to turn a stock car into like a btcc or wtcc car. Like with the auto tuner into a class. Now you pick a race type like wtcc btcc wrc etc. And it builds it. Sounds like more fun then just buying it. And this way you can make it that you need a tune or build a tune to make it work.

Make an app for phones or windows/mac to make and upload liverys.

An app with real time car changes like boost, brake balance, name it.

Option to paint brands on the tires with any color. Like race cars have.

And the most important for me as a downforce junky. Make it possible to use any bumper and make it create downforce.
Since fm1 we are stuck with the most of the time ugly forza bumpers and spoilers...
this has to stop :)

As you can see its already a big list. And i could go on for a long time.

Ok. So there is a Nürburgring and a Nürburgring "next gen"?

Yes. They stated the Ring from previous Forzas was out of wack in accuracy. As was the case with some of the other tracks they omitted. For the first time in the series, it was laser scanned.

Great series.

Been playing since the Christmas 2004 Xbox Magazine demo disk that had Laguna Seca and the Z33 350z. I've lately grown out of love with Forza, just because I think I needed to take a break from the series, and move on to bigger and better series on my PC and Playseat/G27 combination. Keeping my paperweight XB1 for F6, mainly.

I have countless hours between all the games, most of them in Forza 4, which has been it's high point so far. Much fun was had when my girl and I designed a bunch of Borderlands 2 themed cars on Horizon, as well. Online racing with friends was a great time, too. I dominated B500 :D

I'm not without gripes, though- The distinct lack of Porsche has made me salty, giving that it's one of my all-time favorite marques. I also don't like the lack of grip from the tires sometimes. I feel like I should be able to push a Radical SR3 through a sweeping corner and not have it let go.

Overall, it's one of my top favorite series, and will continue to play everything with a Forza name on it. Just don't expect me to play Forza 5 again.

Here's to hoping Forza 6 is more like Forza 4 than 5.

Truth.

Best racer on console, not just sim/simcade racer. They've been great for all 10 years and I can't wait to see what happens over the next 10.

I don't mean to make this a sour post but there's stuff forza 1 had which was removed from the future games for what ever reasons, and I want to see them return.

Paint scraping on walls, matching the colour of the car which hit the wall.
Pit stops with control on fuel intake, engine repair and lengh of pit stop.
Headlights which work, these were dedicated to night tracks in forza 1 only
Multiple car shadows from multiple light sources, night time speedway did this
Multi Screen setup (forza 2 and 3 had this but rather limited)
Scoreboards for every event, this was in forza 2 but then gimped to oblivion in sequels.

Then in forza 2 they had this cool tournament thing where you would leave your best lap times each event and climb the ladder, earning credits and unicorn cars as you went. This was scrapped and no longer works in forza 2 as they dropped the servers for it.

The things I've left in the quote were likely sacrificed for the 60FPS upgrade, since the first one ran at around 30. The shadows in particular have been cited as one of the reasons why they're struggling with implementing night racing. I myself don't mind if they can't add it in Forza 6, just as long as it's still 60FPS and has plenty of other content.

Its a great series, only bought 1,2,5 and Horizon 2, looking forward to 6 this year which i'll probably get.

A great studio though who are very efficient and always deliver, I think being a launch title means that tbh I personally can forgive a few things about 5 that I hope I won't need to about 6, I really liked it.

Simulation of fuel ⛽ and tires? Pit stops? Who's going to sit through a 200 lap race?

I just want Tokyo and some cool new fantasy tracks with a career progression. A couple of street races like in Driven.

So truth is shit? I'm sorry.

They even launched a game without Nürburgring.

They scraped everything from Forza 4 and started with scratch with Forza 5 for next gen, then they lazer scanned the track and put it in for free and it was a launch title.

Forza 5 was lacking alot of features, but the core racing, physics and feel of the tracks is still fantastic.

Looking forward to seeing if Forza 6 can make up for Forza 5.

Regardless, they've made some outstanding racing games. Best of luck to them for future efforts!

People keep asking for real this and real that. Dan has stated that is NOT what Forza is about. That's not the racer they want to make. So asking for it every iteration doesn't mean it's lacking anything. They just don't want to put it in the game...period.

I'm quite curious about their name...
Anyone knows? : D

"Turn 10" is often the last corner on a race track, and even when it's not, the tenth bend is often a well-known corner (like at Sebring or Road Atlanta). Wendl told us the name resonated with the team after being proposed one night, thanks in part to its somewhat "gamey" feeling and its connection to turn-based games.

I wouldn't do it offline but I'd love to try something like that online. Did the one hour F1 event round Spa with some friends and randoms and it was pretty awesome, I suck at racing games but a long race like that means even I can get into a proper groove and get a feel for the track, when my tyres are starting to lose some grip, that kind of thing.

I am puzzled how a thread created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of T10 turned into a list of all the things that T10 has not allegedly done well.

Thank you Turn 10 for creating a compelling series.

I cannot wait for Forza 6.

Kudos to you.

Funny, we were told that Turn 10 studios was actually meant to be Turnip Studios but somehow, someone read it as Turn 10 and the rest was history..

Someone back me up here..

It's a positive Microsoft thread brah. They always turn to shit. Get use to it.

Congrats to Turn 10. I can't believe it's been 10 years.

I thought Forza was an arcade sim? At least that's what some people have been calling it(and GT) nowadays.

It can be very arcadey with even auto braking enabled for corners or it can be very hardcore with no assists and simulation damage. You can crash into a corner and write off your car on the spot.

I hope they take the mainline Forzas even more simulation, with gas and pit stops etc.

"Forza was a mistake, it's nothing but trash."

I've put hundreds of hours into the various iterations of Forza, it's easily the best console racing series as far as I'm concerned. Looking forward to a more fleshed-out Forza 6 as others have said, and hopefully GAF club can rise again.

P.S Forza-GAF is a great community, I'm looking forward to getting back into racing with you guys.

Can't wait or 6 and i think 5 was good especially for a launch game, still waiting for a locked 60fps car racer for my PS4.

Playing Forza 2 online at a friend's house blew me away and I immediately bought an Xbox360 with Forza 2.

The game was so ahead of the times and the community for things like racing leagues, tuning and painting crews and photo competitions were just superb. In my opinion they've never really hit the highs that Forza 2 had in terms of the whole package just being perfect.

Cracking series.

There is yet to be a console game with better tyre physics than the Forza series, it plays so well.

That may change come Thursday though!!!

I dread to think how many hours I've spent across the 10 years, think I've got upwards of 200 hours on Forza 5 alone.

I bougt an XB1 for FM5 and cannot wait to see the step from 5 to 6. Any doubters need to look back at the jump from FM2 to FM3. Sublime series, imho.

Forza 5 was lacking alot of features, but the core racing, physics and feel of the tracks is still fantastic.

I think it was bold to cut down the content to bring everything up to new standards, Forza 6 will be better for it.

I love forza, but this year will be a big test for them with pcars. They've got to match stuff like night racing, weather, 60 fps, lots of tracks, and a bigger grid.

So, will they celebrate ten years by getting the Porsche license back?

Would be great, sucks the EA has the license and only uses it every two years for a forgettable NFS game.

Congrats Turn 10, even though I'm not a hardcore sim racer I do enjoy your work on the mainline series and the spin-off Horizon series. Keep it up! Can't wait to see FM6 gameplay footage.
How dare they want to make the track is better suited for next gen and not just hoard over every asset for numbers sake. Turn10 needs to turn down their standards of quality big time.

From Mascot in the Forza 5 thread:

Whether it's in the base game or another Porsche DLC pack remains to be seen.
That's what I need to hear. If the 918 Spyder, 919 Le Mans racer and the latest 991-era 911s are in the game, I'll be happy.

This excites me, because last time Evo accidentally mentioned a car it turned out to be true. They were the ones that let it slip that the Clio Williams was being scanned for the game.

Congrats Turn 10!

How my wife ever put up with my countless hours of race-replica painting in fm2-fm4 I'll never know.

Great games, I'm really looking forward to what they'll bring to the table with fm6.
