What's the reason for them to fight? Also there's no way cap can win, he will last a second vs Iron Man

No with all that training he got against Ultron. And if we are talking about flying advantage, remember that Steve brought down a yet by himself without breaking a sweat.

If I had to guess on who landed where:

Cap's Team:

Falcon (Obviously)
Black Widow (better relationship with Cap)
Winter Soldier
Scarlet Witch (She's not on great terms with Stark regardless)
Black Panther

Tony's team:

Rhodey/War Machine (they're best friends, I just assume they'd be on the same team)
Vision (his creation is directly thanks to Stark's argument against Cap's ideology)
Spider-Man (he may flip flop but he'll start with Stark I'm sure)

Neutral/Sir Not Appearing in this movie:

Thor's out in space/Asgard
Hulk's in the Pacific/in hiding
Hawkeye's out of the hero game/with his family until Infinity War
Quicksilver's dead

Team Cap
Black Widow
Falcon
Scarlet Witch
Winter Soldier

Team Tony
Hawkeye
Nick Fury
War Machine
Vision

Caught in the middle
Black Panther
Spider-Man

Not in the movie
Hulk
Thor

Looks great! I'm not to keen on Civil Wars story but I'm sure they'll differ from the really shitty parts of it.

I'm pretty sure
Hawkeye is going to be on a team since he's confirmed for the movie

I actually fully expect him to get assassinated at the end of the movie and then somehow get revived in Infinity War just in time to wield Mjolnir.

They could always flip it and Bucky dies. Doesn't have the same impact, but it would kill Steve to basically lose him again.

I would cry. Bucky is the best character in the MCU right now.

I had no idea! Jesus this movie is packed to bursting.

I'd put him on Tony's team then I'd say.
I think they already said who's team he is on but I can't remember if that was a rumor or part of a summary. I'll have to look for the list again.

Meh, I want to see Bucky Cap so they can team up in Infinty War. Would be cool seeing a second cap much like War Machine and Iron Man.

Is Civil War its own contained storyline? Is Steve still dead in current comics/ Avengers comics?

The ramifications of Civil War bled into "Secret Invasion" wherein the alien race, the Skrulls, infiltrated the hero ranks and tried to take over the world. This led into "Dark Reign" where Norman Osborn/Green Goblin took over as Director of SHIELD/HAMMER.

Captain America came back to life because the bullets he was shot with were, I shit you not, TIME BULLETS.

You know, I really hope they'll be going with something like this

- After Age of Ultron and the appearance of even more super-powered people (Inhumans, street level heroes like Daredevil) the public wants the government to take some action.
- Some loud mouthed guy with a moustache will rally against super powered types, like that wall crawling menace wearing a mask. What's that guy hiding?
- Tony still feeling responsible for Ultron decides to support a initiative from the government to make superheroes government agents. Tony thinks this will calm down the people.
- Meanwhile Cap and Falcon are looking for Bucky, only finding small clues about his whereabouts. They're close though. During the search Widow contacts him about Stark supporting the new government plan. He also wants to discuss it with Cap.
- With the US talking about all of these plans, T'Challa arrives in America with a cause; to observe the Avengers.
- Steve and Tony meet; the latter tries to convince Steve to support the new program and make the new Avengers academy part of the government initiative.
- Steve: "Yeah, after old SHIELD I'm not that comfortable about that"
- They'll fight about it and this will start out Civil War.
- Meanwhile, Hydra and Rumlow as Crossbones are slowly taking advantage of the situation.
- A lot of stuff happend in between, cameo's everywhere, loyalties shattering...
- ... and the final showdown between both Iron Man and Cap. They'll kill off one of the heroes (Hmmm... let's go for War Machine) and this makes Cap realize he's sacrificing lives. He gets arrested.
- Going to trial, Cap gets shot by Crossbones; Bucky tries to save him but to no avail.
- Tony is absolutely disgusted by himself and steps away from the government. He becomes a hermit, refusing to speak to the press, even people he trusts.
- Winter Soldier and Falcon grief about Steve, but Fury comes up and knows how Bucky can honor his friend; by donning a new costume and pick up the shield.
- At the end of the movie, Bucky Cap is seen with a slightly new Avengers team consisting of himself, Falcon, Vision, Witch, Black Panther and introducing their newest team member... Spider-Man.

As for Infinity War, both Rogers and Stark skip the first part.

- The New Avengers team (maybe adding Captain Marvel and/or Dr. Strange) face off with the mad Titan, Thanos.
- While they put up a brave fight, Thanos absolutely decimates this Avengers team.
- The majority of the team are broken and ask Fury for some sort of emergency plan;
- Fury: "I have something in the works. You'll see"
- Thanos smiles upon the earth and is preparing to unleash the full might of the Infinity stones on earth...

- ... in Infinity War II, the Avengers team from the first movie are asked to stall Thanos
- When the time comes, Fury sends Thor and Hulk into battle. Both level the playing field quite a bit.
- Meanwhile flying from across the Galaxy Drax is anxiously awaiting his chance to avenge his wife and child's death. Rocket: "Can't wait for you to shut up about that"
- But even with Thor's strength and Hulk's rage, Thanos keeps winning. With the majority of the Avengers down for the count, who can save them now?
- Hey it's Iron Man! Out of nowhere. "Hey Strange, I've got a plan. This seems up your alley, so uh, can you get a stone from Thanos will ya?"
- And thanks to Tony, Steve Rogers returns from the dead. Tony gets his redemption.
- Steve walks up to his shield and picks up Mjolnir.
- AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
- Thor: "Tss, anybody can pick up Mjolnir these days"
- Thanos gets rekt
- YAY SUPER MEGA HAPPY ENDING
- Final credits scene; Iron Man, Spider-Man and Star Lord cracking yo mama jokes.

LOL. Are Cap and Tony buds again, or are they still beefin?

Balder will cut a motherfucker. But I think folks should stop looking at the textbook definition of worthy, and look at what Odin considers worthy.

Yeah, but will Balder feel perfectly justified in doing so (honest question). Supes had a higher canon body count than Bruce pre-DCnU, but even when killing was the actual only choice he agonized over it.

It looks like there's no costume change for either of them from AoU, which means no Hot Toys figure that I'd be obligated to buy (though I wouldn't be shocked if Iron Man gets some kind of upgrade in the film). For that, I am grateful.

Not sure why anyone wouldn't read the Civil War. I read it on my lunch break on black Friday and it was pretty riveting. After I read it, I immediately wanted it to become a movie.

I hope House of M becomes a movie too. Fingers crossed.

Which should I read? I see a bunch of different ones on Amazon and idk which is the right or best version. I see one in particular that has Spider-Man's in the title but I wanna read whatever you read lol.

Anyone else think civil war in comic universe was pretty expansive and could use at least two films?

I feel a seven issue mini-series may work in (at max) at 2:45 minute film.

What does gaf think?

I don't see The Vision joining any side other than the one that favours life (to loosely quote him). A conflict between the two sides seems to go against that.

9 movies, actually. Civil War is the first of those 9. The only one who comes close is Chris Pratt with around 7-8.

Sam L Jackson has like a 10 movie deal :lol. I wouldn't be surprised if that's been extended too.

I'm so excited for this movie, especially coming off from Winter Solider. It's not the greatest cinematic achievement but it definitely exceeded your average comic-book fare. They managed to balance Cap and Widow pretty well in WS, but the cast list for Civil War is entirely different game. If Russos can nail it down the second time, Infinity War looks promising.

They have Sebastian Stan signed up for like 7 more movies, I'm really thinking they'll have Bucky Cap following Civil War.

Don't think that's really indicative of anything since (AoU spoiler)
multi-movie deals are pretty standard, just look at Quicksilver.

Bucky Cap would still be cool to see though.

Is a relief this is a movie and not the comic.

If they cut all the stupid shit like notThor and Penance i think they could get it down to a cool 60 minute film. I actually couldn't be more glad that they are not following the Millar tripe as seemingly that is the best way to adapt his work.
