MKX PC patch pulled due to save erasing, and resolution errors

Console parity my ass.
I'm officially boycotting High Voltage Studios from now on. Been dealing with nonstop glitches, framerate issues and problems since launch. Game is a month old and STILL nowhere close to functioning properly.
Link to the steam thread

Apparently downloading the patch caused folks to lose all save game and progress and caused many to suffer a resolution issue that messed up stuff.

Plus one user on TYM called Immortal had his inputs actually changed to this (no its not just a menu error...confirmed those were his new inputs)

glad I did not waste my money.
it's a shame the easiest platform to develop on is having this many issues.

I hope you guys don't buy their next PC port :x

I still can't get over the patch sizes, wasn't it 15gb for the 1st one and about 16gb for the 2nd (pulled one)?: i mean that's over 30gb for patches alone and its only been 2 patches - its insane

They already fucked up MK9 and Injustice not sure what people where expecting with MKX. If the sun rises everyday doesnt logic tell us it will rise again tomorrow?

The logo pretty much warns you to stay away:

Whenever a PC port gets released by High Voltage, this image should be in every thread to warn people to stay away. Their track record is really unacceptable. It's a problem when a console version seems more desirable than the PC version even when you have the hardware to run it at better settings.

It is laughable that something like Dark Souls or GTA IV in their original states, were far superior to MKX and every subsequent patch. I think this could legitimately go down as the worst PC port

I don't know, Devil May Cry 3's port is pretty bad.

The moment High Voltage was announced for the PC version should have been warning enough! I got burned pretty bad with MK9 and Injustice for PC.

A 16 GB patch completely screws up a game's save files... there are no words. I don't think I've ever bought anything from high Voltage before, and reading the "High Voltage sucks" thread, they give me no reason to buy anything from them in the future

Problem is you have too many people who are borderline fanatical and are willing to give developers the benefit of the doubt. This behavior then tricks otherwise regular fans into purchasing it. And now we have this.

Some people don't have money to throw around, and now these people have tricked on the fence fans into wasting one of their few purchases. Lesson learned I suppose.

Also, Ed Boon should be ashamed of himself for perpetuating the lie.

They're handling the 360/PS3 ports of the game, too. I'm really hoping for something that can top the Shadow of Mordor ports in the "you gotta be fucking kidding me" department.

PC MKX is my first time buying a game from High Voltage. Definitely gonna be my last unless they magically perform a miracle in their next port.

I just put in a ticket for a refund on Steam and for them to just remove it from my library. I paid for both the game and season pass and since launch I've had to play on lowest settings, on lowest resolution, and it only really runs on 2 stages without framerates stuttering so bad that it changes combo timings per stage. Framerates on some stages and matches still plunge into the teens or lower for me and I'm well within the system requirements.

Labbing on 2 stages isn't $90 worth of value here...I'm gonna try to get a refund. If so...well I guess I may be forced to go next gen by this single title. I can afford it...I just didn't want to because there isn't enough on next gen for PS4 or X1 to warrant that investment yet for me in particular.

I mod TYM though...I can't play this title on PC. Not like this and still play and post tourney level. I'm gonna have to start over.

I've basically lucked out (no crashes, no graphical glitches, no save data issues, etc.) but man, I'm never touching a HVS game again unless there's plenty of evidence that it's a good port. I can't even feel safe, there's always the chance of a patch eventually breaking the game for me. I love MK, but just watch Street Fighter V being an awesome port if Capcom's ports (post PS2 era) are any indication.
