seems like gjallahorn will be incredibly important. again.

and erm, i'm not particularly amazed by anything, granted i didn't start watching from beginning but it looks like something i'd get bored with really quick. still gonna give it a go.

As these streaming goofballs are proving with their constant wipes, it's going to be difficult to estimate how long an activity might take.

I'm astounded at people that would rather risk a poor match-making experience than they would go to the trouble of finding like 2 people. Nutting together raids can be rough, but finding two for this is not exactly time consuming.

the tools to find a group should be in-game. No excuse for that no being so.

Because the amount of time it takes to get a group together (on Xbox) can be the difference between having time and not. Matchmaking allows for the most efficient use of time to at least make an attempt whereas the alternative is not having time at all to attempt.

Right. Raids take a significant amount of time, and in a lot of situations losing just one team member males things near impossible, or if not extremely frustrating for everyone else involved.

You can't just expect to match make in for just one tiny part. It just doesn't work that way.

I'm not talking about Raids at all. I'm talking about PoE.

Looks fun... for about a week. It's a big room, with mobs.

Whatever study or information they are hanging their hat on to continue gating content via matchmaking is just wrong. They are choking their own game. Little to no variation of gameplay further restricted by a silly application of matchmaking rules.

Looks like Gjallahorn will be OP enough to make it rather easy, as it usually is :p

If you only have 30 minutes to play and will have to abruptly leave when your child starts crying, I don't want to attempt a hard mode run with you. That's why there isn't match-making. It keeps people with limited ability to commit out of the player pool.

As a responsible person & player, I wouldn't do that to my teammates. Which is why I've only run a raid when I've had ample time, 2 ~ 3 hours, to do so.

So you know what time you're going to be available and can ask gaf ahead of time if anyone is free at this time?

I hope you realize the raid takes up to 40 minutes to complete. So if you don't have those 40 minutes, then maybe destiny isn't for you?

Yes, I've been through each Raid once. Both were truly awesome experiences. I had great teammates and was able to hold my own without screwing it up for everyone else.

these guys have wiped several times now on this mode. the arenas obviously aren't in farm status yet, but from what's being shown here the more difficult challenges don't seem like they'll be friendly for matchmade groups.

at least this time the content is playable with matchmaking.

But the rewards for the match-made mode are only for lvl 28. If your 30+, that's not going to get you the light you need to reach 32+.

And that was totally the VIP icon from Halo 3. This really is a mashup of the best of their prior games.

They are getting thrashed, wow. Though a level 35 dude is kinda cheap. :\

Um...NO.
They're consistently really far apart from one another and don't seem to have each other's backs. Imagine this level with random matchmaking, it would be an exercise in futility.

Stream is a bit better now, I'd be great if Broman asked more questions that actually matter and not stuff like "Is there a shower for the Hive to wash themselves? LOL??"

*Hugs 4 Gjallarhorns*

just tuned in. Was gone all day.

What sorts of objectives is in this mode?
Any new enemies? Looks like its the same enemies we've been fighting for months

So far it doesn't look well refined like Mass Effect 3's horde mode. But I can see this activity more than easily pacifying the current Destiny populace (since the majority never seen a well polished Horde mode like ME3's multiplayer had)

It is if you don't have many friends who play Destiny.

Specially tough for those like me who are on XBO, since DestinyGAF is 95% PS4 only.

I don't think it is really gonna take that long to put groups together for this though -- not like a raid anyhow.

If you are time-constrained then just run the match-made Prison and save the hard modes for later in the week. You can only run them one time anyway.

God damn it, why couldn't they at least bring one stealth-capable character and one character with a self-Rez? Watching them wipe again and again is so frustrating.

i don't like what i'm seeing of the arenas so far. they're just large open rooms with a bunch of ramps and walls for cover. and they're really dark and depressing.

i guess they don't want people "cheesing" it from an "easy" location, but they seem a bit lazy nonetheless. running around dodging a bunch of bullets may be fun for a while, but the sheer amount of particles and explosions going off might grow tiring fast.

if bungie's "encounter design" for the two strikes from the dark below is any indication, they seem to be favoring the "overwhelm the player with adds" approach to destiny content.

The tools should be but it isn't hard to find a group if you want.

This just isn't true and it's incredibly frustrating when act like it is. Sometimes I can get a group in a few minutes, sometimes it takes a half hour. As someone else said, that's literally the difference between having the time to play and not.

There's are shitloads of people here who will argue that giving a matchmaking option is bad. Why should Bungie try when people are arguing that they shouldn't?

I've waited 45 minutes in DGAF waiting for one reply for Nightfall grouping....

I like the idea of this arena, but its literally the only thing I'd want to do, so it looks like it'd be perfect for me when I'm about level 28, and only then.

Beyond that are the challenges with weekly caps and no matchmaking.

Ah so that's the red death I've been looking for huh?

Also does it seem like they are playing bad on purpose, the Hunter going bladedancer, Warlock not self rezing because of being the other sub class, not shooting the 35s with gally.

I'm guessing there's something at the end of this they don't want us to see or they just want to make the stream go on for longer

Uhm yes. No point in collecting all this exotic stuff if you can only wear some of it...

No, that would upend one of the smartest design decisions in the game. It forces you to create different builds, keeps legendary gear relevant and encourages experimentation. The whole point of exotic gear is to enable unique builds without making legendary gear obsolete.

They seem to have an aversion to using heavy weapons. One of them has a Gjallahorn and is stood shooting the target with a shotgun. Wot.

You're lucky you got a reply. I've straight up been ignored trying to jump on a "IB train." When I finally got on a fireteam I got kicked in favor of another gaffer that the host knew better. DGAF may have been a great way to get a group together early on, but now it's incredibly cliquey.

So do you see yourself returning to Destiny for this activity? It looks fun and highly repeatable.

So far just disappointed that it seems super simple. Was hoping we'd get a huge variety of creative objectives. But I'm just tuning in. Maybe they had objectives where they had to defend something air earlier. Would like to see a unique boss at the end

Maybe someone can link me a summary after stream ends?
