That looks like an incredible design. Am I right in saying that the radiator goes on the back of the case (normally near the CPU)?
Nice im gonna buy one..
My 6950 is ready to be replaced for many years now.

Not rumors anymore, it's been confirmed here -- http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/desktop/oem#
Nooo, leave DVI alone. Just kill off HDMI instead.
Those are for OEM's not retail. I highly doubt the 380 would be a rebranded 285 and not a rebranded 290.
Please let DVI die already. DP is the only way to go. And for all those curious. Monoprice has dirt cheap converters for all your cable needs.
Im in the same boat as you, looking to upgrade from the 6950.
Any chance that there will be models with DVI output? My second monitor doesn't have display port/hdmi.
wait, so this is still 28nm instead of 14? hmmm...

I second this question, where does the water cooler go? This may actually be harder to fit in my hadron air than the 290x that's already in there.

You really want AMD to die don't you? The only problem with DP is that it has short range with its wires.
That separate cooler is fixed somewhere on your PC case in a standard 12x12 cooler slot.

I feel the same way. It wouldn't make sense to just use Tonga as the 380X because it would leave such a huge performance gap between that and the 390X. Then again, a lot of rumors suggest otherwise. Also this will be more of a stopgap generation since a new node is basically around the corner. It'd be a waste of money to design completely new chips for all the tiers. I honestly have no idea anymore.
Wait on the case or inside the case? I don't really see how it would fit on the outside or inside of a hadron air. Perhaps that's why there's a hadron hydro.

Edit: changing to link in case we can post images from whatever this site is.
Pitcure
See that CPU, see those rubber tubes? Instead of connecting to the CPU, they'll be connected to the GPU.

Yeah, this year AMD is creating their last and most optimized 28nm arhitecture that will be fueled by HBM1, and next year both AMD and Nvidia will create 14nm GPUs with HBM2.
Ah I see, thank you! So there is no reason for hadron hydro to exist?
If it isn't too much more than a 980 here (6-700 euro) then I might opt for it instead. Is there any single card that can run games at say 4k/60fps or would I be looking at SLI for that?
No you'll need SLI for 60fps at 4k, assuming it is about as fast as a Titan X
If you are willing to turn down AA and some other settings a bit you do not need sli. Still will look better than 1080p or 1440p maxed settings by a mile.
That's with AA off. Personal experience.
IDIOT QUESTION: Are there adapters for displayport > dual link DVI? I have a 2560x1600 60hz monitor that only has DVI-D and nothing else. I need the hdmi free for the TV.
No, but ironically HDMI is backwards compatible with single link DVI-D.
DVI-D is just DVI-Digital, not dual link.
This is correct, there is no 120MM fan on the Hardon Air.Wait on the case or inside the case? I don't really see how it would fit on the outside or inside of a hadron air. Perhaps that's why there's a hadron hydro.

You need like $100 active dongles, and even then they still act wonky.

Think of the cooler as the same thing as the Corsair H60 or Seidon 120. It's an AIO cooler, except the heatsink is mounted to the GPU rather than the CPU.
DVI was a fantastic, forward-looking standard. It was ratified in 1999 and still has the ability to drive higher bandwidth than some shitty consumer standards set in 2013. With all the DVI-only 2560x1440 monitors out there (I'm using one right now!) I feel like it's too soon to get rid of it.

DP and DVI both have 5 meter ranges. Even normal USB 2.0 is 5 meters. Normal USB 3.0 is 2 to 3 meters. Do most people need 20 meter HDMI cables?
Well now I'm torn.
I can only fit an 11" card in my case, and the EVGA 980 I just purchased fits nicely (10.5") but the "speculation" around the performance has me wondering if I should return my 980's and wait for these to show their faces.
I can still return for a full refund...
How likely are these scenarios?
1) AMD cards come out and are 11" or shorter and smoke my 980's for the same price.
2) Nvidia drops the 980 price tag and I can re-buy them in 4 weeks?
Both are possible, how long have you got left to return them? It's defintely worth considering holding off, on the eve of a new card, depends in how desperate you are on playing new games, like The Witcher 3.

The reason I'm excited about this card is that that for the first time we might have mass produced watercooled reference cards. That means no more paying for a heatsink I don't use then shelling out an extra £80 for a full cover block
I have until May 15th.
Hmmmm, not long, it's a bugger, cause you don't want to feel like you've ripped yourself off, with not waiting, but on the other hand, you could end up waiting a month or so for not much gain, but you can pretty much guarantee Nvidia will knock out the 980ti or whatever it's called as a response to the 390X, if I were you I'd send back, you've got nothing to lose, but all to gain, it's not like your spending an insignificant amount of money.
Yeah, I think this is what I'm going to end up doing. Good thing I kept my 770 in the box and didn't sell it.
I'm really having a hard time with the idea of letting go of GTAV @ ultra and batman and the witcher T-T
That doesn't work for 120/144Hz and 1440p panels.did everyone forget these exist
