death of Avdol 2.0
Lol
Lol
He's not dead, he's walking around in a happy other dimension
with no hands
Which is OK, he can probably make flame hands if he can make a stand detector out of fire.
It was an effective way of showing how serious of a threat Vanilla Ice was. Also Avdol's death was worse in the OVA.
The point is to make the editor happy so that you keep getting paid.
Fire Araki, the mangaka?! Because they had to get his approval for the name changes for All-Star Battle, so I guess they figured they might as well keep him happy & use the names for the anime. From what I understand, he was NOT happy with some of the changes in the English manga &/or the US version of the Capcom fighter.they should fire whoever translated Vanilla's name with Cool Ice in ASB.
"great name let's keep using it"
I thought the editors were already super happy back then due to 3's popularity lol
Now that I think about it, outside of magnet girl, Avdol didn't really do anything anyway
I won't try to spoil/hype anything about Part 4 since I'm sure it'll get animated next year, but after rewatching/reminded of Part 3, I'm finding it similar to Part 1: They're still good, but it's more to introduce certain ideas/characters (hamon & stands), to which the following parts (2 & 4) are much more realized, evolved versions of their previous parts and living up to the "bizarre adventure" in the title.Killing off one of your three actually interesting protagonists, leaving half your cast monotone piles of dull, doesn't seem to fix any problems to me.
Part 2 > Part 1 > Part 3.

90's OVA was great, but I think the Vanilla Ice episode are the weakest on those OVA.
Excellent episode. D'arby 2 turned out way better than I expected. It was my least favorite part of the manga for stardust crusaders.
yeah but, this time I don't see Avdol coming back. Fucking shit ill miss him V_V
He had a few moments early on, like getting Jotaro out of the cell and beating Polnareff, and there was the Cameo/Judgement fight. But yeah, he doesn't really do much in the second half.
I actually don't like part 3 so for personal reasons I would agree but for actual quality I do not. I see people throw "jobber" left and right around so carelessly describing the SC cast.

Yeah, sorry, I tried to be vague & didn't even include the character's name since I wanted to be careful with spoilers. I'll end it there & not speak of it again. Now back to Part 3 talk.Bending the rules a bit here no?
Did they say the name of the stand in the episode? I just remembered something, but I'll wait until next week if the name wasn't said yet.
Ah, that's right, during the stats screen. I'll wait until next week, then.Nah. They showed ?? as the stand name.

Guess the gifs were sadly more exciting than the episode itself. No real surprise there, as one again when things could truly get tough the writing staff chickens out to make things comical and light hearted. Kakyoin gets eliminated due to fair game stuff, but now Joseph cheats and wins. How come in this universe those that play fair lose? Its unethical and immoral.

Dont really care either way for Avdol, he did nothing but whine and hide all season so he wont be missed. If all you do is get sent to some other dimension than it isnt that bad. Certainly several orders of magnitude more pleasing way to be off'd thancrushed by cement slabs![]()

#neverforget
JJBA is better when its really dangerous and scary, and so far it seems this is being like s1 pt 1, where the only time it got to that level was in the final fight or sorts. Oh well, at least it means Kakyoin and others may not die, as Dio is probably only concerned for Joseph.
Fair game stuff? The guy read Kakyoins mind in order to win. How is that fair?
Jotaru WAS playing fair against D'arby senior, and for the most part has won fights fair and squareGuess the gifs were sadly more exciting than the episode itself. Mind reading isnt helpful in racing, its not like he was snaking in Mario Kart. You still need some skills to win in a racing game.
How do you think D'Arby "knew" about Kakoyin's plan to push him off the track (And use that as an advantage to leap frog the stage)? Are you even watching the episodes?
He has to ask a yes/no question though, and I don't recall him asking any specific questions about that.
He doesn't have to say the questions out loud to get an answer though.

I remember how I was unsure of the inclusion of Stands despite liking Jotaro and the others, but now.. I think I vastly prefer part 3. I still love the first two seasons, but this season has everything.
I wonder: how good are the viewer numbers and is there any reason that part 4 won't get animated?

You're ignoring how those earlier parts were set up and how long they were compared to Battle Tendency though.
Battle Tendency is filled with one shot threats who are only there to be killed off, while the earlier parts reserved that to nameless fodder. Every named antagonist was part of the main story, not just monsters of the week.
Parts 1 and 2 generally succeeded in making the enemies feel threatening, rather than the protagonists stupid or weak. I guess people could complain about how Battle Tendency to a point basically had "power levels" ("My hamon isn't strong enough to damage you!?"), but, really at this point, I'd take power levels over part 3's tendency of making the supporting cast really stupid when it's convenient (well, aside from Polnareff, since that's pretty much his character).
