The Witcher 3 PS4 gameplay

I don't mind screen tearing ass long as it isn't in normal situations like walking through a town.

If I kill 1000 enemies with a nuke attack it's all good

AFAIK, only library is available. However AMD should be able to write a driver for it, unless there is something in the license preventing them from doing so. That was their claim during the Watchdogs kerfuffle, that they wanted to help Ubisoft optimize the game but the nvidia gameworks license prevented ubisoft from doing that.

Yeah I don't think they are going to be able to help on a per game basis. But as you said, they would be free to do driver level optimization by analyzing the source code.

Screen tearing is a automatic no buy here.

Hopefully its fixed in the day 1 patch. I can not play a tearing game for more then 5 minutes with my head starting to ache. I dont even bother with consoles games with it anymore.

Lets not get this out of proportion, he said it is really minor and it's not like it's constant, game looks beautiful.

I read that, but that's one opinion. Some are sensitive to tearing, others are not, so I'll wait for a larger pool of opinions on it. :-)
I'm expecting something like Watch Dog. Tearing in 'extreme' conditions. I doubt it will be like Project Car. I don't know why some people are so overdramatic, videos released until now not showed any track of tearing probably it's occasional.

Hmmm... watching the arabic guy's feed on youtube of the PS4 version, there are some frame drops below 30 for sure.

When he uses the fire sign, and sometimes when attacking. Also stuttering when looting.

Could be no patch 1 issue though.

Oh really...on PS4? If thats the case then I may just get it on PC, even if I only have a i7-870 and a GTX 760 (2GB).

I cant tolerate screen tearing at all....Id rather play at a constant 20fps than 60 w/ screen tearing.

Do NPCs, enemies respawn in the witcher series? Or could I possibly exterminate every single living thing in the game similar to skyrim or fallout 3.

Your PC is better than your PS4. You shouldn't have any issues.

you know what we really need, a
full throttle remastered edition!

You can't slaughter innocent villagers and guards supposedly are hard as nails in these locations. Geralt isn't mass murderer who kills people without reason.

That said enemies do respawn into the world after certain period of time, but respawns aren't fast.

I doubt it's too bad, but we'll see. I'm going to get the game, but reviews will help me to decide on which platform. I still play old ass games, so I'm not even worried about having the best looking game, but screen tearing is something that bothers me. Between the low framerate and screen tearing, Dragon's Dogma was like a headache simulator, so I just want to make sure before putting money down.

Well the reviews and probably Digital Foundry analysis will out early this upcoming week so one should be making an uninformed purchase.

I noticed the same thing in the original Polish PS4 footage.

i dont mean to compare but after watching the videos leaked of the X1 footage the ps4 version looks a little sluggish to put a name to it, maybe this will be another DA:I case were the ps4 had the higher resolution but the least stable framerate

the cutscene in part 1 sure, but all of the gameplay segments look quite smooth.. either way this is not the way to judge framerate.

Really can't wait for this, hope this little store I know has this by this Friday. I'm taking a trip the 22nd and want to have as much time with this before I leave lol

Do we know if you can resize the UI on PS4/XONE? I'm pretty sure I read that it could be resized but it wasn't specified if it was only a PC option.

I just watched a couple minutes of the PS4 footage posted in page 34/35... anyone notice the massive LoD fade-in at 2:52? Check it out: https://youtu.be/OILIERc-pWo?t=2m52s

Gif for reference.... watch the medallion and railing then the shadows fade-in shortly after (in the room behind Geralt)
Hope this doesn't happen on the PC version (or maybe if you throw and SSD in the PS4).

Possible this will be rectified with the day one patch

The environment in that level is pretty flat. Stone work and paths are just a flat texture.

A big step down from Dragon Age which really went the extra mile with that stuff.

The fade in is probably due to the cutscenes being realtime. The camera goes from being really far to up close to the player. It's similar to pop in you would get by going really fast on a horse for example.

We've already reached "this happens so preorder cancelled" stage?

If a minor graphical hiccup is enough to take you away from the game then you didn't really care about it.
