Saw the Trish video and her combo potential is looking quite interesting. Itsuno squeezed everything out of her basic toolset just like with Nero. She doesn't have much but every tool in her arsenal has a very specific function that is core to her playstyle just like Nero.

Is this just hopeful speculation or is there real precedent of Capcom doing this? I'm a physical only guy for the most part and I can't justify dropping $40 for a digital version of a 7 year old game I've beaten multiple times already that I can get for literally a dollar in the used games bin at Gamestop, even with all the new characters and other additions. If this was $20 I'd be more than happy to jump in day one but at least from what I see there's usually no price difference between digital on XBL/PSN and physical for new retail games these days. It'd be great if it did end up costing that much though.

There's precedence for it, it's Resident Evil Remake HD on PS4.

If Kamiya's to be believed; she has a true DT separate from the sunglasses. If we ever get to see it; a three-eyed, stone-skinned form similar to Mundus' DMC1 appearance with cues from Bayonetta's angels might be fitting.
 
Quite like the idea of Trish's true appearance being the one we see. She was made by Mundus like that deliberately after all. Although I'm picturing a more humanoid Blitz now and can't help but think how awesome it would be for Trish to teleport all over the place in a berserk state, firing lightning and throwing Sparda all over the joint.

Really? This is news for me. I always assumed that DT "forms" are something half-demons had in DMCverse, and that true demons like Trish just got a power boost and some Glow Effect Of Awesome to go with it. Trish especially, since she was specifically created to look the way she does and all that.
Then again, Sparda would probably prove my theory wrong with his "human" form as LDK.

But if Trish had a "true" DT form then yeah, something visually along the lines of Bayonetta's Joys could be fitting, with some OP thunder powers.
 
I know we already talked about the possibility of having a DMC5 teaser at the end of 4SE and how much it would make sense given the circumstances. But I wonder how many of you guys actually think Capcom will do it? I mean it makes a lot of sense but after all it's Capcom that we are talking about and it's not like they are known for making good choices.

In other words, how hyped should I be for a possible DMC5 teaser considering Capcom's history?

We're not going to see something blatant like "next time on DMC" but there might be a small stinger. It won't be anything super obvious. Part of it depends on if they plan on announcing a DMC5 prior to launch. They teased Nero's mom and I wasn't necessarily expecting that. Don't expect anything and be pleasantly surprised if it happens.

Nero's mom confirmed playable for DMC5.

Yeah, I'm hoping the reason they didn't show off Trish's DT yet was because they wanted such a "big thing" to have more gravitas in a full sequel (maybe even part of the game's story), than just something unveiled in what's still just an expansion of an older game. (And perhaps the model's not ready yet. Whichever works!)

Again, I think it's safe to say that the three new characters are meant to be early demos of what we're gonna get next time. Cuz obviously, first rule is to "always keep them wanting more"

Although a teaser as a hidden bonus would be pretty sweet, I can't really see that being the case. Maybe a quick nod in Vergil's epilogue.

Since both Lady and Trish have an affinity for motorcycles, if they implemented co-op I'm imagining a team super move where Lady summons her bike, mounts it, then Trish throws the bike along with Lady at the enemy.
 
I'm glad they decided to show off a Dante and Vergil outfit as well though, albeit unintentionally before release. I'm liking everything I see.

That would make sense - though seeing as Trish went on to defy the purpose she was created for, it'd also be appropriate for her to develop a true demon form even if she wasn't originally created to be anything more than a shell.

Scarf Nero was the Nero alt I wanted. Glad it's in. Wonder if the white scarf version will be a palette swap.

Really hoping there'll be a DMC2 Dante alt. I know Capcom doesn't really want to acknowledge DMC2's existence, but I really want DMC2 Dante's look. :<
 
I'm excited for this.

I have the PS3 version and played it few years ago.

Will get it for PC this time - good thing I waited out and didnt get vanilla DMC4 on steam.
 
They all look great. Plus we got the palette swaps as well. There's gonna be a lot of variety here.

EDIT: If I'm mistaken, is Corrupted Vergil a play on his DMC1 appearance? Or is this another concept art creation.
 
As long as we get more than a couple costumes for Dante/Vergil/Nero. As that would be pretty pathetic.

Anyway, depending on Dante's bonus costumes I might actually play Dante some. Nero's has already left me wanting to use him again.

I wonder why the red eyes and facial scars aren't part of Vergil's version this time, as with the DMC3 and UMVC3 incarnations. At least it should be relatively easy to add them back in manually - hopefully they don't touch the monocle in Dante's version.

In DMC3 and UMVC3, it was Vergil's take on the Sparda outfit; with a few alterations to his face reminiscent of Nero Angelo's mutations.

I'm hoping in vain that LDK Dante has the Sparda DT.

Let's not forget vanilla DMC4's level of content was utterly pathetic, especially compared to DMC3. Every DMC has had costumes. DMC4 was the first and only game in the series not to have a single one.

It's hard to say with that picture but it kinda does look like he has some scars.


Also these achievements are fucking wild...

Beat Dante in Bloody Palace without taking any damage? Beat Bloody Palace with ALL characters? Defeat all bosses with SSS rank? Get S rank in all difficulties?

This Platinum is going to take many, many hours.
