Let's get the Trish train moving

The lightnings ability to juggle and it lasting so long looks so good. I also expect beyblade song mashups or chun li noises synced up with those kicks.

Only hang up is that a lot of it seems derivative of other movesets. It's not blowing me away with being completely new looking, but I'm sure there will be shit going on behind the scenes that makes her drive a bit different from a dante drive.

No L2/R2 function for Trish? How does she do the Pandora moves then?

Oh its just hold down Stinger and Hightime input with []. This is the future boys! That's how you incorporate Gunslinger moves in to the base gun button!

This is basically the DMC community thread for now unless a separate thread is made down the line.

DMC1 is hard, but it's a different kind of hard than DMC3. DMC1 DMD modifies certain move utility, and tactics that worked on lower difficulties won't work on DMD. I wouldn't say it's much harder than DMC3, though.

Yeah, I've read that it's best to re-play normal difficulty to stock up on items and then start DMD on a separate file just in case. I guess I should have specified that I have DMC3 Special Edition, too.

Wow, Trish looks insane in the new one.

Wasn't able to catch the stream do to being in a class at the time, gonna have to check up on the archive once I get home.

Until then, just from what I've seen in this thread, holding the gun button and direction inputs at least explains how Trish is able to use Pandora and seems like a smart way of cramming her with moves without needing weapon switching.

I sincerely hope that is a sign for things that will come in an eventual DMC5, just on a basic control level.

So looks like they want to move away from back forward inputs in DMC5? A lot of 2 button inputs in place of what I thought would be back forward.

"Beginner" character is code for "we didn't have enough budget to put in a ton of weapons and moves for the other characters so here have fun playing with a character that only uses 6 buttons!"

It is what it is... at least we got Vergil dah gawd!

Yah this was my concern when 2 additional playable characters were announced, given a limited budget. Should have just added some more weapons to Dante, Nero, and Vergil instead (or moves). But having 5 playable characters looks like more 'content' from a sales point of view..

Back forward square is for Pandora's laser on Trish. And I thought Vergil had some back forward moves as well.
I don't think Vergil has any..

They may have also just wanted to try out new character templates without jeopardizing the current balance of Dante and Nero. Trish and Lady might be a little simpler and less fleshed out than Vergil (Itsuno basically admitted they ran were low on money)but they each bring something unique to the table so far.

It's potentially a valuable experiment for a DMC5.

Not to deviate too far off topic, but how in the hell do you play defensively with Nero? I'm getting hit out of combos like crazy.

I mean, I need to up my dodging game but damn.

Oh, yeah, and I'm basically counting on that aspect.

I mean, everything about the 3 new characters sounds like they were effective test beds for what we can expect from DMC5. Right down to how they all have movesets that are much better suited for crowd control involving hoards of enemies in LDK mode than Dante or Nero ever were.

Haha, that golf swing

Dante gets a bat swing and Trish gets a golf swing. Perfect.

Nah, I prefer the 5 characters.

If DMC5 becomes just another type of Basara game then I will be very disappointed.

DMC needs better singular enemy encounters not a hoard of dumb ass enemies for you to mash buttons against.

That said despite having a few crowd control moves, Vergil is very much a traditional DMC character. So I am not too worried.

SB5 and DMC5 announced at the same time and have a massive coop advertisement campaign, completely with base game crossovers and supplemental media.

Ashikaga/Sparda, Magoichi/Lady, Nobunaga|Yukimura/Lady, more Masamune Dante. The works.

That would be the day.
