I really don't get the upset about no voice chat, I don't think I've used voice chat on a console game in about five years. Barely anyone else nowadays seems to care either, go into a 64 player match of Battlefield 4 on PS4, you know how many people are on voice chat? None. I think I could count every person I've heard using voice chat on PS4 since launch on my fingers. Where are these legions of game chat zealots coming from?
I'm usually one of the first people to hop on the Nintendo hate train, but I just can not see what the big to do about this is.
I've been playing CoD BO2 for more than an hour on Wii U just now, multiple lobbies and modes. There has been one person with a mic plugged in during a game of Domination and he didn't say anything (actually here's a second guy in a ffa lobby now with a mic). Public voice chat is practically dead.
I think all the people who want party chat are slamming Splatoon for the Wii U's lack of system wide chat, more than for not having public chat. Using Skype or a phone is kind of a pain to set up.
