So there's apparently a Rush Hour and Limitless TV series coming....

Today, CBS revisited that territory but came to a different conclusion. Series adaptations for both Rush Hour and Limitless were confirmed for next season alongside the medical drama Code Black and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

The Rush Hour TV series will maintain the premise of the first feature film in which a Hong Kong police detective finds himself in Los Angeles and paired up with an extremely arrogant American police detective. Justin Hires and Jon Foo will take over the roles that were originated by Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan, with Aimee Garcia and Wendie Malick set to co-star on the show.

Apparently it's going to be these two dudes:

I loved the original Rush Hour TV series:

I'll give this a chance and I hope it's awesome. I loved all 3 Rush Hour movies even though the third is very flawed.

Can this dude fight and do crazy stunts? Are either of them funny?

I'm not saying it can't work, but those are the obvious requirements.

Eh, I'll wait for a trailer before passing judgment. Not that I have high hopes, but Rush Hour is a premise that translates well to TV. Hell, you could've told me the movie was based off a TV show and I would've believed you.

Yeah all they need is good laughs and for one of them to be an obviously better fighter and its good.

Watch this movie and thank me. If you can buy the PAL DVD. Truly awesome and underrated film.

Is Limitless going to be a police procedural too?

Oh nonsense, no.

It's an FBI procedural...

And also moving forward is Limitless, based on the 2011 sci-fi pic starring Bradley Cooper. The TV version stars Cooper’s American Sniper co-star Jake McDorman as Brian, who unlocks his full potential after using the drug NZT. The FBI then coerces him into using those newfound abilities to help crack their cases.

eh, Limitless would have felt less trite if the guy had gone full villain insteada working for the - gorblimey, the originality - FBI

I fucking hate how networks take somewhat interesting premises and then shoehorn them into police procedurals, whether they fit or not. Looking at you, Lucifer, Minority Report, Frankenstein and now Limitless. At least Rush Hour COULD be good.

I would argue that Sidekicks was the original Rush Hour

It was the same premise with Ernie Reyes filling both the roles in a way (martial arts and hip street smart guy) while Gil Gerard was the "straight" guy..

And then there was Kung Fu the Legend Continues, where somehow David Carradine travels to the modern day to help his son, a crime fighting, street smart cop.

I can't really feign much outrage at either of those movies getting TV shows. They are the perfect sort of bland movies to get TV adaptations.
