Rock me, sexy Dante. Give that twerp in DmC a run for his money.

Disappointing they had to leave his chest blank for that DMC4 art, though - would it have really killed them to hint at the abstract concept of areolae? Even in DMC3, Dante only had the barest suggestion of detail, which was still covered up by a leather strap for the rest of the game.

Hopefully they apply the Resident Evil design philosophy to Dante going forwards - the series can't evolve unless he gets a costume to surpass Chris' Warrior, Samurai or Sailor.

I know adapting the lighting settings and skybox used for that cutscene would likely take more time than they can spare; but it would have been great if Vergil's version of Fortuna was set at night in gameplay. Similarly, using the model for the street outside the Devil May Cry shop for the setting of Trish/Lady's final battle and/or credits scene would have been a nice way to give a tiny bit of variation to the campaigns - but seeing how pressed they were for time, it's understandable that things like that would have been a low priority.

Somebody try to get all the costumes shown in the trailer

There's one scene where you can see Lady wearing a black outfit with blonde hair along with Trish using Gloria's costume and Dante wearing... a DmC costume?

Also it's confirmed that Vergil transforms into Sparda when wearing the corrupted costume instead of Nelo Angelo, not fully surprising considering that Nelo Angelo would need a new moveset

Edit: alternative, see Capcom's unity blog, that prototype Nero costume

which lately has meant amazing games at relatively cheap prices (REmake, Revelations 2, and now this for $25.) we're on the upswing of the capcom cycle, react accordingly and call them capgod.

"Capdemigod", will do, for now.

Don't get me wrong, the RE/Bio stuff is great. MH4U is keeping me quite busy. And I'm definitely looking to rocking with DMC4SE and Sengoku BASARA 4 Sumeragi all summer long.

However, "godly caliber" will only be restored once we get an idea of what else they have in store for us, ideally at E3 and then TGS to follow.

So... I've been rewatching the trailer... did they nerf Super Dimension Slash? When Vergil uses it in the new trailer he doesn't kill a single marionette, I've already been thinking that some moves apparently changed properties when Gregaman did the Vergil stream, and apparently the trailer confirms this, which makes me think Vergil seemed so OP because he still wasn't balanced

Also you can spot Nero's Vergil costume in the trailer, something you can't see in the blog

Maybe they changed so that you could perform the dimension slash with a half filled concentration gauge and the enemies would not die but would instead be launched into air (which looks much cooler imo).

It's probably a higher difficulty than the videos you have seen before. If you looked at some previous Vergil walkthrough videos you will realize that the move actually doesn't do that much damage especially on bosses.

Releasing this version now isn't that innocent. I am sure they are preparing a canon DMC5 using Panta Rhei engine (well I hope at least).

It seemed Legendary Dark Knight which is where we've seen the move applied tons of times

The site updated with some Lady moves (I think. Hopefully I don't make a fool of myself this time). We already knew about pretty much all of these:

l-a-t_lady-act_bg01.jpg

Lady uses guns as her main weapons, making her a unique character with a fighting style that's never been seen before in the Devil May Cry series. The key to mastering Lady's fighting style is finding the right weapon for the right distance. With her deadly arsenal, Lady brings a new depth to the game.

Ground Zero
After Rush Hour, put some distance between you and the enemy with this blast that sends you flying back.

Hysteric
Unleash a swarm of micro-missiles into a wide area in front of you. Level up this move to increase the number of missiles launched in random directions.

Blaster
Fire Kalina Ann at the enemies below while you're in the air. The blast will also let you do a double jump, meaning you can put some distance between yourself and the demons below.

Wire Shot
Shoot a wire into an enemy, temporarily paralyzing them. This move leaves the enemy open to attack, so don't be shy! Wire Shot can also be used to travel across grapple points during story missions.

Scatter
Toss a handful of grenades forward to light up the party with an explosion. The grenades don't explode immediately, meaning you have a chance to use this together with other moves and cause devastating damage. Hold down the button to increase the throw distance.

They also added a description for Super Vergil.
Not only is Super Vergil in a constant state of Devil Trigger, his concentration gauge is maxed out as well, meaning you can use Vergil's full power to take out the demon hordes without worrying about his gauges running out. He's a lot of fun to use in Legendary Dark Knight mode too! Please note that you will receive a reduction in style points on the results screen for using a super character.

Capcom gonna Capcom i guess.

https://store.xbox.com/en-US/Xbox-O...ume-Pack/cf5a3d7c-5b18-44d6-bdf6-9df2d97fe345 - Looks like the Lady/Trish costumes are DLC (maybe pre-order DLC like in Japan too).

It's listed as bundle only right there... that's how the Xbox store lists pre order DLC (digitally). Physical copies will probably have codes. Will likely come out as separate DLC, regardless. There's nothing wrong with that, people who missed the pre order period can still pick it up.

Nero looks sharp as hell in that new outfit. Whoever designed it did a good job.

Honestly, if we don't get some decent manservice in this game and DMC5 I'll be terribly annoyed. I want to point out the fact of Gloria's existence and just let it sink in for a sec. You know I'll be rocking that vixen's outfit on day one, but what about the dudes? If DmC did one thing better than the main series, it was equal opportunity sex appeal. New Dante was a garbage character, but at least he looked great in a tank top, lol. A palette swap for Uncle Dante isn't going to cut it.

I can't get over how completely shit that Sparda model looks. I wish they didn't use the same sharp-toothed grinning design from DMC3.

This is how Sparda should look:

Have you forgotten that Dante spent the entire first mission in DMC3 topless? And that he ran around the entire game wearing a coat with nothing under?

Get hype I'm unbanned (again,again,again).

Available starting June 23rd, 2015 at $24.99/ €24.99 / £19.99 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC!

That is actually a pretty good price. 20quid for a digital game I know I'm gonna spend hundreds of hours on. Good stuff! Going to pre load this.

I don't get the "defeat boss X with SSS rank on Sons of Sparda Mode or higher" trophies.

Does that mean the moment we land the finishing blow on that boss we have to be at an SSS rank?

I agree that 3 was fairly even in that respect; but 4 was completely lopsided. No male character shows any skin beyond the forearm, while Lady and Trish are at the most revealing they've been in the entire series, especially if the Gloria costume is taken into account.

I definitely hope they fix things with the next game - I don't really have a problem with the female cast continuing to get fanservicey costumes (abominations of design like Lady's DMC4 outfit aside) as long as they put the same amount of effort into the male characters. With all the lip-service they paid to 'expanding the demographic' for DMC4; it's telling that the final game ended up giving us one of the most pandering costumes imaginable in the form of Gloria, offset by a perpetually-clothed Dante. And seeing as none of the 4SE costumes are new, whether they intend to change that for future games seems uncertain....

Also, in regards to Nero, the outfit appears to have been adapted directly from some of his original concept art, so Tatsuya Yoshikawa was probably responsible.

I'm super bummed at the lack of a winter coat outfit for Dante. It would have been perfect.

Indeed. I've made no effort to hide my disdain for the way 4 treats and depicts its female characters.

Trish is as revealing as she was in DMC1... though she got a bust size increase in 4 for whatever reason.

She was pretty busty in DMC1 as well, I don't think they really got that much bigger. It probably just seems more noticeable since higher def + more polygons + boob physics.

In terms of revealing attire Trish is actually a tad more covered up than she was in DMC1 (barely). The lightning bolt in her top was entirely open in DMC1, with 4 they put a thin mesh over it at least. Other than that she's the exact same. Lady honestly isn't that much different either in terms of skimpy clothing. They replaced a comically small schoolgirl skirt with hotpants and her boobs got bigger (my justification for that is she finished growing up). In my opinion Lady and Trish didn't change that much in terms of revealing attire with respect to their traditional looks.

Now the Gloria costume on the other hand, jeez.

I don't know man, definitely looks like a boob job here.

Yeah that's what I meant to say, she is in fact more covered up in 4 than in 1.

But Lady got way more revealing man... come on now son. Her chest in 3 isn't nearly as revealing as it is in 4.

They both should have been in the first time around. Nero's giving me RPG mage vibes. The new outfit really makes me want a full-blown wizard in a DMC game...stylish spellcasting would be so dope. Platinum's Korra game scratched the itch a little; it was cool throwing out elemental stuff during attacks/combos.

Eh, to me they look about the same especially at a side angle
Concept render, that's not how she looks like in-game. That's why I used both in-game images for the comparison.

Though I do agree with the guy above, the tighter top makes her boob look bigger in 4 so that could be a thing.

*Googles "Trish DMC1" at work*

*Forgot I was still logged into Chrome so safe search was off*

Oops

Also yeah, the tighter DMC4 top is probably a reason why too.
