Gawker put up an article accusing Louis CK of sexual misconduct

He described one of the alleged incidents, which he said had happened sometime in the second half of 2014: A female friend of his told him that C.K. had come up to her at a comedy club, grabbed her by the back of the neck, leaned into her ear, and said “I’m going to fuck you.”

This was not the first allegation of sexual misconduct levied against C.K.

At the Aspen Comedy Festival a few years ago, he invited a female comedy duo back to his hotel room. The two ladies gladly joined him, and offered him some weed. He turned it down, but asked if it would be OK if he took his dick out.

Thinking he was joking (that’s exactly the kind of thing this guy would say), the women gave a facetious thumbs up. He wasn’t joking. When he actually started jerking off in front of them, the ladies decided that wasn’t their bag and made for the exit. But the comedian stood in front of the door, blocking their way with his body, until he was done.

The article is poorly sourced and specious as hell. Of course we all want this to be bullshit. Still, with the abhorrent shit about Cosby coming to light recently one probably would not want to come down hard on either side of this until more concrete facts are put out.

I remember reading that "blind item" years ago (that pretty obviously was pointing at Louis CK). I wonder if there's any truth to it.

No real sources, doesn't look like they've even really bothered trying to verify anything. Typical Gawker fishing expedition. Didn't "journalists" learn from the Rolling Stone fiasco?

I love the man, but if you've watched his live shows, interviews, discussions and show then you can sorta seeing this being real. I wouldn't take Gawker to be the most reliable source, nor do I or any of us know if his on-stage persona is his actual self, but yeah.

Disgusting if true.

Rolling Stone didn't learn from the Rolling Stone fiasco, why would anybody else?

sad and gross if true.
but i don't get this part:
One of the commenters on our post affirmed that the whispers of C.K. taking his dick out whenever he pleases are well-known within the comedy world:
are they really using a random commenter on their site as a "confirmation" of the second rumour?

I've seen a lot of CK material at this point and I never got that impression at all. Sure, he has a lot of observations about how gross male sexuality can be, but you wouldn't have to actually be a gross predator to make those observations.

We had no means of verifying Jason’s claims directly. He said the women he knew had told him they wouldn’t come forward, citing C.K.’s reputation and power in the comedy world. The two members of the comedy duo who were supposedly subjected to the Aspen jerk-off incident wanted nothing to do with the story then, and did not respond for comment when contacted before the publication of this post.

Then why did they post it!?!?

They posted the allegations without giving C.K. a chance to respond as well. One anonymous source claiming this happened. Might turn out to be true, might not. But this is really crappy journalism.

Nobody will care in a week. Just ride out the fake outrage, Louis.

This shit is so mild. People reacting act like he drugged up and raped a girl.

So about the comedy duo bit they say

The item, which we couldn’t pin down at the time, was, as several commenters noted, a now well-circulated rumor about C.K.—although, in a confusing development, the comedian Doug Stanhope, a friend of Louis C.K., took to Facebook and claimed to be the culprit.

But... they don't believe Doug? So confusing, we wanted it to be one guy but another guy owned up to it! Like do they think it's the sort of thing that someone would own up to because it's a neat thing to do? Or that he was kidding.

I don't trust Gawker or anyone named Jason anyway.

Can he sue Gawker?

I'm not very comfortable with all of this airing of alleged dirty laundry. There's got to be a better way than tossing these kinds of accusations into the court of public opinion. Lives can be ruined by false claims and misunderstandings.

A lot of time, people ask for proof or evidence on these types of stories. Just using the Aspen scenario, what proof or evidence would you expect the accusers to provide? Other than the facts that they were at the comedy festival or maybe stayed in the same hotel, what could they offer? That's what makes these stories so difficult to prove or disprove since not everyone keeps the stained dress in their closet.

Adding to my original post, people keep saying "no source" about the article. Clearly there are sources since that's where the author got their information. Is the issue that the accusers aren't willing to put their names into the public spotlight where they might be harassed?

I've not heard of that, could i have a link please.

Linked in the article in the OP, but here it is.

IANAL but I think he would have to show the claims were false and, because he is a public figure, that Gawker made them with actual malice.

EDIT: actually, there wouldn't be a case since Gawker does not come out and accuse CK of anything. It simply mentions the rumors and allegations.

this is typical gawker, tho, no real source

still, bummer if true

also; what the hell at the "yeah I wouldn't be surprised" ????

I'm clueless- what does this refer to?

On the episode entitled “Pamela (Part 1),” which aired last May, “Louie” delivers a decidedly feminist standup routine, then goes home and wakes his friend Pamela (Pamela Adlon), who has been babysitting his daughters. He forcibly tries to make her stay in his apartment and kiss him. He holds onto her, pulls up her shirt, holds the door shut, and finally makes her accept an unwanted kiss. She rejects him throughout.

she then dates him later

A picture? I mean if he takes his dick out that often must be pretty easy to get a shot of it.
