Please tell me, what the hell is going on. It doesn't make sense to me. Conan video had towel and ass, while the video of gronkh (also pre-release version) had no towel and no naked ass. While other PS4 version do have towel and ass.

Too much ass here.
Most of the "leaked" (street date broken) copies are from countries that have the "censored" version without the T&A. Conan's version was probably censored because it was going on broadcast television, CDPR probably brought in that version specifically for the show.

PCGH has a comparison between the preview and review version(including day one patch) up: Click

review copy includes:

better vegetation
better ao
water tesselation
better textures
better shadows

But it costs a few fps according to the article. It's still not a huge difference though.

Experience in the industry isn't required to understand lying to customers is wrong.

PC version has no copy protection as it's a GoG game.

I know right they should just put the "doesn't represent actual game" or "Graphics are scheduled to change" or something like that in CG videos. That way people wont get upset like they are now.

I am not sure how a partial MS marketting deal could be responsible for apparent parity. Rather, it is a matter of developer choice. The current gen twins are so similar that their apparent differences (primarily resolution) are understandable. The lack of differences in the PC SKU at higher settings implies that the capabilities of modern PCs were pretty much ignored.

It is not as if the game is ugly all of a sudden, but it is hard to stomach that ultra is basically a slightly better high... instead of introducing a wide range of heavy effects work.
Pretty much. What do you think of AC:Unity? Did they overshoot a bit there?

So lets put on our tin foil heads.

But this looks more like parity between all three systems, then just a downgrade. The Xbox One and PS4 versions are very close to each other and the PS4 and PC version is also nearly identical. Do you think this has something to do with the Microsoft PR deal, because Microsoft doesn't want the Xbox ONE to look way behind (graphicly speaking)? Is it 'Unity' all over again?

But wouldn't parity mean stripping out Gameworks? Resolutions higher than 1080?

I hardly think including these options in the game would be the best way to go creating "parity" between the consoles and PC.

This is probably good news:

the guy who made the Screenshots in

says that the review version of the Game is looking a lot better then everything that is out there now in videos and Screenshots of the game, especially vegetation, water and LOD. But also demands more GPU-Power.

He also says that the Gamestar video was made with an older preview version of the Game and hes about to make a comparison of his own.

And yes he has access to the PC game already, because hes working at PCGH.

So instead, the decided to lie to sell the game thinking no one would notice! lol

99.9% people won't notice lol. They are used to playing on consoles with low settings anyway. But seriously most gamers are casual and won't notice any downgrade whatsoever. If they like the gameplay they will keep playing. That's why CoD sells a lot. Cause it's gameplay is still top notch when it comes to FPS. And its lower skill ceiling.

You just said it had a towel, yes? That's censored. It's broadcast television.. they can't realistically have several minutes of footage with a giant "NAUGHTY BITS" sticker on the screen. Think about it. There is absolutely no indication whatsoever that what he played is what we will play.

Long story short, I'm not expecting a towel or any other censoring in that scene in the actual final release. That's per people that actually have the retail game, and Yen is completely butt-naked in that scene. What more do you want?

Yeah or just admit 'things had to be changed' when they're asked.

Oh please they could have still kept the graphics the same or similar as 2013 if they wished but they didnt

And like nobody would have been able to run it.

They would've needed to keep two separate sets of assets, one for PC and one for consoles, which is immensely expensive and inefficient. And even then only like 1% of PC gamers would've had cards capable of handling those settings.

Again, if you want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at Nvidia and AMD for intentionally gimping their cards. CDPR was clearly expecting that Titan Black specs would be the standard for $300-$400 cards by now, which isn't unreasonable.

If no one had noticed, then we wouldn't be even talking about this downgrade.
I can't understand why they keep talking about that the game hasn't been downgraded or why they haven't made it clear that the 2013 trailer (VGX) was a target render.

She has nothing on but the towel, that's uncensored in my eyes. In the other versions she has her panties on or panties and bra.

Wait one more day. Why do you think i made that mind fuck of a GIF? Proof, towels, crow are all coming. I think. If they don't.... well... everyone's fucked. We can all get our pitchforks ready then

Wait, I'm confused... is this with specific respect to that cutscene or are you suggesting that there's some slim chance that tomorrow evening, the Hindenburg WON'T collide with the Lusitania, sparking the great fire of London while showering the countryside with burning plague rats?

They should just put the 'Target Render' label on these 'in-engine' vids

You are talking nonsense right now. How has that stopped other developers pushing the envelope?

I don't think it's as easy as "Lol Microsoft told them to make PS4 and PC versions ugly".
Hell I'm more inclined to believe their engine is at fault and that there are engine limitations that they realised much too late into development that they couldn't overcome.

Why piss off 2/3rds of potential customers because big papa Microsoft said so?

agree and meaning that is maybe possible to a achieve the 2014 gameplay but it also possible that it need a supermachine far from the sys req, and now they have to choose:

we say to players that if they want supergraphic they have to spend 600 $ or we low a little and the game run to everyone with a good pc?

and the our part of the question is : we prefer to listen that our 960 is useless and we have to buy a 980 or we prefer to play and who care?

Wrong again, NO DAY ONE PATCH. They will get it on Monday and they said it several times. But you have proven countless times that you only hear what you want to hear, posted low res twitch screenshots and made pointless PC vs PS4 comparisons. You Sir are a fountain of misinformation and a day one grade A moran. Congrats.
What the fuck? I'm not saying it has the day one patch, I'm saying I was watching the stream and a moderator said it had the patch, and so I posted it on this thread. We then found out that he was wrong and it doesn't have the patch. I didn't spread any misinformation. What I said was 100% true ("a moderator said it had the patch"). I never said it had the patch. Get your head out of your ass and learn how to read and interpret sentences so you don't look like an idiot next time.

pretty much this./thread right here. Even after the tremendous level of downgrade the #pcmasterrace can only run this game at ultra with top of the line graphics card. If the original vision was still intact the game would have to be PC exclusive only and a 980 would probably run the game on mid-low settings. Sorry but that's a terrible business decision. Sorry but man if some you were running a company it would go bankrupt so fast lol.

Crysis 3 is still the most demanding games on PC, and it was released on LAST GEN consoles in 2013, which is why they make it very demanding first for the people who can run it, and downgrade from there. Not downgrade then slight upgrade, stop parroting that inane logic.

And the amount of cost and manpower it took combined with subpar sales probably one of the reason that caused crytek to do this:

EDIT: Also crysis is a miniscule game compared to the size and scope of witcher 3. Can you imagine creating separate textures for 2 different platforms? are you crazy? The amount of manpower and work hours it would take while you have a deadline is insane.

Shadows , LoD/View Distance looks better. Still do not like the vegetation and I still think it looks better in the Tutoriallevel. That the games looks good overall is no question.

Which means they likely did what I mentioned above, and kept two separate sets of assets. Crytek is in terrible shape right now.

It's a little bit funny you reply to that post citing a game from a company that's supposedly on the verge of bankruptcy.

They were running it back then. We now have even better hardware. On top of that, we don't even know what it ran on back then. Was it a 780? A Ti? Single or more?
Plus PC is constantly advancing in hardware.

They would've needed to keep two separate sets of assets, one for PC and one for consoles, which is immensely expensive and inefficient. And even then only like 1% of PC gamers would've had cards capable of handling those settings.
I agree with the first part.
The second part, is just guessing and reminiscent of the post someone else made with the Steam hardware survey. Even if it were 1%, we don't know the numbers. Consider what a PC gamer is. How do you class it? Then you have more complications when you take into consideration things like 'what is acceptable performance?', things start to get way too unpredictable.

It had subpar sales because the game itself wasn't fun. You're flat wrong man.

Your edit made it even worse. You make 1 set of textures and just reduce the resolution for consoles. Common sense actually.

this is true, not even a 980 can run this game at 60 frames with all the settings on the highest at 1080p, crazy

Crytek's financial woes had nothing to do with Crysis 3. It was them over-expanding, please don't go off-topic. It was already been shown they had the tech in place but decided to forgo all that and remove it entirely, for parity reasons obviously.
