M. Bison trailer for Street Fighter V

I have the biggest smile right now. I've mained Bison since vanilla and think he looks amazing in this reveal. I wonder what TampaBison thinks of this reveal.

He has white hair and you can see his gums now.

I guess that's different.

I'm talking about gameplay.

This thread has as much shitposting as Bison has new moves.

I'm still not feeling positive about SFV. Capcom needs to show more gameplay.

What do you think the majority of the SFV videos have been? There's a full match they did for an event if you wanna see some very early progress.

But I'm sure we'll get a lot more during E3.

Lol you're trolling at this point right?

That's exactly how SFIV has looked.
I'm not trolling, I meant the new filter they added for SFV. It'd be a more accurate representation of the newest build, I wasn't referring to SF4, but it does look different compared to SFV.

Wow, what an amazing design.

It's exactly the same character from all the other games!

Bravo, Capcom.

lol, just realized they don't show Bison's walk speed (or any walking at all) in the trailer.

Come on, capcom. Show us how slow the game still looks so we can bitch loud enough before the beta drops.

You summed up the initial SFV reveal pretty well.

You act like the current build's is the same as SF4, which it doesn't.

Oh you are talking about the SF4 screens. That didn't look much different, and no those aren't SF4, Alpha build screens.

How so? Looks like the same game I play on a regular basis.
I should have specified, I meant the Early Alpha of SFV & the recent build.

Why are your eyes so shit?

SF4

Early alpha SF5

More recent build

I guess I meant to say "why does it look like an up-rezzed version of the last game."

I was hoping for a new art style this time around, or at least new character designs. I don't think it's trolling to say that that disappoints me.

He isn't.

Bravo, Capcom.

But he is.

If we're to talk recent builds

Real time Teeth rendering.

Then I stand by the first sentence of my response to you. The current build of SFV does not look like the most current version of SF4, being Ultra.

The character models are new, but they're wearing their classic costumes. I guess you proved that guy right - people can't see anything beyond costumes :/

Here's a leaked pic of Street Fighter 6:

Maybe not if it's a fad (maybe MKX will be such a case) then I agree with you that popularity != good. But when a fighting game is played competitively for 7 years and the majors/EVO are still so good and hype, with a diverse character pool each time, I think this warrant that the game is pretty good.

Not really. SFIV just did a good job at establishing how it plays as the norm to the extent that plenty of people will dismiss other games for not being similar to it regardless of how mechanically sound they actually are, and stick to what they're familiar with.

And I do agree with you, my point was that using the recent build would even better illustrate that fact. If I didn't make that clear in what I said earlier, I apologize.

hERE'S what I expect in E3:
Beta announcement
1 new character
some gameplay

So really not much although I'd like to be proven wrong XP

It isn't a different artstyle exactly but they are designed slightly different. Everyone doesn't look like mutants like they were in SF4 for example. If you were expecting different clothing and such you were mistaken as Capcom can't make the classic characters look different as they have to be recognizable.

Now if this wasn't a typical numbered SF you could see some different designs (ie Chun Li's SF Alpha costume.) However if the only thing that makes a character look different is it's costumes well I am sure there will be costume DLC for this game or something.

Also sprite work is very expensive now a days so I don't expect them to go back to that, even with Sony funding.

My bad, I get what you meant, no worries.

Lmao, what am I reading in here? Are Street Fighter fans becoming the new insatiable Nintendo fans Reggie spoke about?

What.

Except it is a new art style, unless you're also confusing art style for body proportions.

And getting back to SF5, I can honesly say I'm a little concerned with all these teleports going around. I know, only 2 characters but still, lets not turn this shit into marvel.
This and the the latest SF4 character decisions (Decapre especially, but also Rolento) have me a little worried that there's too much "auto-mixup" in this game. Or as Mike Ross would call it: "not Street Fighter".

It's not the SF fans that are bitching about characters not having new costumes

You need more than just your hard core to make something thrive, just ask Nintendo :)

Yes, non-hardcore street fighter fans are complaining because it doesn't look like there is enough new to justify a purchase... and you want your customers to be able to justify a purchase.

New costumes can't cure ignorance. If they feel there's nothing new when characters have a shit ton of new moves then it's not the game's fault.

There's a completely different fighting system here. You think costumes are what brings in the dosh?

What in the fuck am I reading?

It gives that impression at first but for me it's like MK9 going to MKX.

They may share a similar art direction but SFV looks so much more lively and refined than SFIV especially in motion.
