Ooooh! I hope this pans out. I prefer Classicvania, but IGAvania has its own charm.
Have you heard about the classic mode stretch goal? 6 levels done in the style of the classic games. We hit it just today.

I'm excited to see what's in the basement.
That most likely will be another stretch goal after the Wii U extension, but I feel the true final
stretch goal would be to bring Kojima (the artist, not the producer) "back from the dead".
I did. Sounds fantastic. I like Virt joining the project too.
Hurry up and hit 3,000,000 so I can throw my money in. Ha ha ha.
You're thinking what I'm thinking, my friend.
We're all thinking the same thing.Ouya version confirmed.
After not liking the art when it was revealed Miriam's design has really started to grow on me. I'm still not sold on the monster designs so far though.
Yeah, it looks amazing.

Virt is awesome, a super welcome addition.
But where my orchestrated soundtrack at. The way they're handling stretch goals "reveals" is incredibly annoying to me. And the next one is a Wii U version? Gah. Is an orchestrated OST even coming?
Also, I dunno how I feel about a Wii U port, it's a UE4 game. Wonder how is it going to be handled.
(In theory, couldn't they raise $$$ and do a Wii U fork of UE4?)
I still don't get the point of the WiiU version. I could kind of understand if this was coming next year, but at bare minimum we are being given the March 2017 date. The platform could have easily been replaced by that point, or at the very least its replacement will be on the horizon. That's assuming the game isn't delayed back a bit, which it likely will be.

- Nintendo has a history of supporting backwards compatibility. I wouldn't be surprised if the NX can play WiiU games
I don't get the point of a PS4 version but I have no issue with people wanting it.

Nintendo NEEDS to abandon backwards compatibility, one of the biggest reasons why the Wii U is simply inadequate today is it's CPU design which literally dates back to the GameCube.
There doesn't need to be a Wii U version of this game but hey, if they get $3 million they might actually have enough to farm a down-port out to High Voltage or something.
I mean I've gotten great usage out of backwards compatibility in every system I've owned that had it. Backwards compatibility on the PS2 let me catch up on most of the PS1 library for example. It was how I was able to play Symphony of the Night! So I disagree? I mean you can replicate it with the Virtual Console but if I can use physical versions of classic games and/or not have to rebuy my old games if I want to replay that seems like a win to me.
As for the bolded, don't you dare jinx this! :/ >_<

- PS3 and 360 games are still coming out even though the PS4 and XBone are out. The same can be seen going into previous generations for all 1st parties
- The WiiU is a known entity. What is the NX? For all we know if could be a VR headset or some shit - nobody outside of Nintendo knows. Easier to make promises for a known entity

Speaking of known entities, I'm not sure where all these crystal balls are coming from and why people are convinced this game with a soft release date will be out after the NX, which has no release date.
Well the Wii U has been an unmitigated disaster so it stands to reason Nintendo will want to replace it ASAP. They aren't going to sit the entire generation out with the Wii U and if they push the NX out by 2016 with hardware comparable to what's in the PS4 and Bone they still have a shot this generation to make some noise instead of vanishing completely into mobile like Konami.
So people are saying this shouldn't come to the Wii U because they're full of frothing, irrational hate for it. Gotcha.
LMAO if that's what you got out of my post then I really can't help you.

Wii U is underpowered. I say Ninty wait til next gen and make a console on par with the competition. Then they got their godly 1st party and then they got the 3rd party everyone wants. They'd be back on top if they did this
PS3/360 still sells enough after all these years, doesn't the WiiU sell on par with those consoles, isn't that pretty bad for a two year old console? Can't imagine how the WiiU's will sell in 2 years.

Thing is they're not releasing anything in 2016. They stated specifically that they're not even going to start talking about it until 2016.
I do chuckle at the whole "Nintendo vanishing off into mobile" despite the fact that they're still making a profit off of Wii U even as it's failing. Unlike Sony, where the PS3 wiped the PS1 and PS2 profits into oblivion, helping nearly collapse the company and getting Kaz Hirai fired as CEO.
3rd party will never flock to Nintendo unless it's to make shovelware if the console's Wii levels of successful. It's the old axiom of "not enough marketshare" vs "Nintendo fans don't buy 3rd party games/we can't compete with Nintendo 1st party games."

Yeah not sure where I came to that conclusion.
The only reason why 3rd party is shovel ware on the wii/wii u is cause they're underpowered. Publishers don't wanna re-do a game like AssCreed or COD to make a worse version on a console that no one wants. If the Wii U had decent specs, they could just do a straight port same as the Xbone/PS4/PC version. Also no one likes the shit gamepad. If Nintendo just went with a traditional controller and decent specs, theyd be able to compete
Why are people complaining about this game reaching more players? No one is forcing you to play this game on a Wii U, for crying out loud.
Look up the Gamecube sometime.
Look, when the developers weren't sure if they would even hit 500k (LOL but whatever) they realized that the only way to make and release the game on all three systems with a budget of $5 million would be to make the game in something like Unreal 3 or whatever and they didn't want to do that. So they chose Unreal 4 and excluded WiiU. Now that its obvious they are swimming in money, they can afford to continue making the game in Unreal 4 and the down/sideways/diagonally port the game to WiiU where they know there is an additional receptive audience. More people now get to play the game. Win-Win-Win. Why is this a contentious subject?

Everything I said is factually correct.
The Wii U's sales are tracking so low that it's selling slower than the GC did. If this isn't an unmitigated disaster, I want to see your definition of what one is.
Keeping the Wii U would be the same as abandoning this console generation, and maybe consoles in general. Getting the NX out the door ASAP would give them another chance at this generation, which is why it's so reasonable to predict they would want to push it out by 2016 if it's a console.
Assuming the NX is a console, of course. Nintendo has been mum as to what NX actually is. If NX isn't a console, it's safe to assume that Nintendo intends to abandon home consoles, which would absolutely be a rational business decision since they have been facing declining console success every generation with the sole exception of the original Wii. Their 2nd most successful console after the Wii was the original NES. The SNES sold less than NES did. The N64 sold less than SNES. The GC sold less than N64. And the Wii U is their worst-selling console yet.
Nintendo would be derelicting their duty to shareholders if they didn't seriously consider abandoning the home console market which is becoming increasingly marginal for them. No one should be surprised that Nintendo's stock started skyrocketing when they finally announced they were getting into mobile, and also they've been making money hand over fist from Amiibos. It's become increasingly clear that home consoles are not the path to Nintendo's future and from a business perspective now is a good time to walk away.
They are complaining that the team might sacrifice part of the visuals in order to have the game working on more systems without having to work much between versions. Cross gen games got some flack before for it so its not something new tbh.

bleh $3 mil goal is wii-u. i hope it doesn't affect the development of the ps4/xbone/pc versions.

I'd kinda feel better if the $3mil mark was "Nintendo console to be determined" or dual-license, etc.
