But I had to use the Gyro controls. Would've dominated even more without them.

Go on and hate me.

I cannot wait til this game is live so we can actually settle this debate in the 1v1 mode. Wait, was the 1v1 ever confirmed for online? Or is it offline only?

Went to the Splatoon event in Hamburg. It was for press and for "super fans" with invitation. Nintendo organised a competition for the press. I won. I'm great.

Don't worry; we'll still have a clear advantage over the dual analog-only peeps regardless of mode.
I know, I could already tell by Nate's videos. He moves so stiffly, trying to aim at things. Was just hoping we could have a definitive answer with 1 on 1s being purely about shooting static objects; would've been the perfect gauge. Gonna be fun doing circles around them, regardless.

I really wanted to buy the Amiibo 3-pack, it's on Amazon for $105 CDN which seems incredibly steep. I don't know if I should do it.

But is the boy squid wearing a skirt?!

I would imagine he probably gets a Splatoon equivalent typical male school uniform?

Which I'd be alright with, actually. Looks dapper.

My real regret with this game and its localization is the setting. "Inkopolis" just sounds so...expected. It's called Highcolor City in Japanese and that sounds a lot fresher to me.

So with the amiibo costume unlocks - are they seperate pieces of clothing/armour that can be upgraded? Like can you mix and match with regular clothing?

Question about the Amiibo stuff:

Do you have to tap them each time you want to access the challenges? Or once you tap it to the game once that amiibo's challenges (And minigame) are unlocked permanently?

I don't have the prerelease game, so I don't know if you need the amiibo to just change the character in the booth, or if the booth amiibo character disappears when you walk away from the booth.

But the minigame unlocks when you complete all 20 challenges for the amiibo:

Okay so the unlocks like the minigames and the gear is obviously permanent. I guess my question remains as: When you touch an amiibo are those challenges permanently unlocked? Or do you have to re-tap the Amiibo every time you turn the system on? Can only one Amiibo's challenges be "active" at one time either way?

You select the amiibo challenges to play from the menu at the booth.

Thanks, I was interested to know that. So If I got a friend that has the girl amiibo, with taping just once the amiibo, I unlock forever the challenges? So I dont need the amiibo anymore?

I thought would be more like the "amiibo Tap: Nintendo's Greatest Bits", and that was a little bit annoying (and expensive thinking that you need to buy the 3 of them, instead of sharing them with your friends :|)

It'd be pretty awesome if you could actually wear a skirt as a boy Inkling.

Gender progressiveness in a game that many kids will play.

Considering some of the people that made Animal Crossing are working on this it honestly wouldn't surprise me at all if they just allowed the boy to wearing skirts and dresses and stuff. You could do all that stuff in AC: New leaf after all.

As for how their team won the last to matches...I really don't know. The last minute push and whatnot, but the other team dropped the ball hard.

Yeah. Not to strange for this team considering you can wear any clothes no matter the sex of your character in New Leaf.

But the New Leaf development team was organized as a 50/50 gender team. My impression is that the Splatoon team is a mostly-male development team.
