It's my cat.

I couldn't think of anything else so I took a random picture of my cat from my computer and used it.

I think judging by avatars can sometimes have merit because yes, some people do actually put effort into using something that has meaning to them. But sometimes people just use a picture of their cat because idk, can't think of anything else, or use a picture they found in 5 seconds because it was funny, or just used the first thing that came to mind, ect.

Cats are dope though. I never judge a user with a cat avi since idk if they might be the king or queen of cats and send a feline to kill me in my sleep.

Outside of the posters who have stated otherwise (and I remember), I assume all posters are male. It's a sad rule of thumb, but it tends to be pretty accurate on the internet.

My name, I would hope, would at least give away my gender. The avatar not as much.

Avatars do affect my perception of a poster. Doesn't really extend to their gender or voice or whatever, but it can contribute to how much I like them along with their post history.

Well, I get to not see any avatars and it gives pages a cleaner, more uniform look.

I guess I just don't see the appeal of that. I don't want all the posters here to be uniform, but to have their own voice and persona.
